I heard Greg is working with Adele again too.

My secret dream ( not secret anymore I guess)) is these 3 working together, I`d like Mika collaborating with Adele someday. That`ll be success.

This time I`m not in the mood too. My muse doesn`t come that way.

Deadline - is somethimg about office work, not inspiration.

Seems like someone is convinced he is doing this in French.

Is Mika with "Virgin" or with "Universal" ? Is this radio a branch of the Virgin Group ?( I mean - is this source reliable?)

There is nothing inherently wrong with French or French pop. What I am not crazy about is Mika trying to be the second coming of Barbara or whatever. The songs are too old fashioned and I agree with Anne that the themes in the songs are kind of dreary. If you're going to sing about a hooker disguise it with a joyful melody and an imperative to "love today". That is Mika's strength in writing lyrics. Karen is just a misery to me, from the subject matter to the whiny "elle est libre".

 

And again this sometimes happens in English too. I don't want to hear a whole album of Pick Up Off The Floor either. To me a great pop album consists of songs like Stardust, Overrated, Relax, Love Today, Happy Ending, Rain and yes, Elle Me Dit. It doesn't mean I can't appreciate Un Soleil or Over My Shoulder, I just think Mika spending 2 or 3 years of his life working on an album full of songs like that is a waste because it won't be a great contemporary pop record and that is what Mika does best.

If he chose the path of becoming "new Barbara" or just "a new French singer trying to be new Barbara" - we cant help it.

But as I wrote earlier in this thread - this choice will narrow Mika`s audiences in many countries, like Russia, oriented at UK\US music industry chiefly...

I know no one cares about Russia here, but I just want to say: most Russian listeners will never buy an album in French, no matter how good music is... And trust me -no one will convince them that "these French songs are so good", even if they are so good. Come on, a great pop-record should be in English.

Taking a break from english albums would be disastrous decision for his career, he needs to be back in the US/UK market a quickly as possible before all is lost.

I agree. If he loses UK|US ( I dare say it has happened) he`ll never be competitive in specific markets like Russia oriented totally on UK|US music industry. This is sad for me personally( Will I ever see him in my country then?

I think it`s a serious issue. No matter how soon Mika will release an English album ( I believe he will), but if the French one comes first - it will make a huge abyss, a gap between his previous, old-day success and expected one. The longer this gap the more he loses - incl. fans, time, inspiration, motivation, etc.

Let`s hope for a double album , with both French and English CDs. ( that was an advice:wink2:)

Besides the matter of the last fb upload, I do appreciate that his staff read us and reply indirectly to our thoughts (or better, our anxieties:aah:)

all I can say is that Mika is a unique celebrity who`s attentive, polite and very patient towards his fans. We have a chance to meet him after some shows, isn`t that great ? He`s such a big star but he`s so human.

I`m not sure Mika has enough time to read and follow the forum. But I think MikaTeam is definitely aware of the fandom`s mood . All the rest is a mystery:wink2:

I have no hopes for gigs this year ( that sounds scary) , but I do hope Mika will use this time properly - to find inspiration and a right mood for creating a new album. The album should be the labour of love, not compalsion.

A bit disappointed,though. It's completely G-rated, and he doesn't actually physically appear in it.

I'm sitting in some sort of waiting room, on a bench,and an ex-boyfriend of mine, whom I haven't talked to in 20+ years is sitting next to me. He opens up a newspaper, and on the back is a full page ad about an upcoming Mika tour with dates and locations. I scream and yank the paper out of his hands,and look for the nearest concert, which turned out to be Chicago,and I'm busy thinking about how many tickets to get, two, or one? Do I go alone, and meet up with MFCers, or drag someone like my husband with me, can I afford it? How do I get there? Then I notice my ex bf glaring at me, and I say, "Oh, sorry about that. I was just so excited." He was always a horrible music snob, and he rolls his eyes and says, "Well, you know he's no good, don't you?" So I begin yelling at him, telling him he's wrong. End of dream.

I guess all these tour rumors are getting to me!

I can't understand why this discussion is still going on, especially since it was started by a newbie who has posted ONE TIME and then has never posted again since. Perhaps a troll, trying to stir things up?

 

In any case, are we really that desperate to label ourselves?

 

I'm a fan of Mika's and I belong to the MFC, so that makes me an MFCer. That's all I really need. I don't get why we need to call ourselves anything else. I guess I'm showing my age.

 

 

 

 

Well, that's not entirely true. Yes, Mika's FB page is for any Mika fan out there. But it's run by Mika's management team and we work very closely with them, in conjunction with them in many cases. You'll notice that we very often run announcements about shows or competitions simultaneously -- that's because they let us know when they're doing something. And they recognize MFC as THE Mika Fan Club, so I wouldn't say that they have NOTHING to do with us. They actually have quite a lot to do with us, and vice versa.

... which means we have a full right to call ourselves MFCers !

"Mikafan" is ok, it sounds equally in almost any language, so it`s international!

BTW, there`s no any difficulty with saying " MFCer". Just practice more!

ah my dream :I was standing on stage and singing "popular" when I sang this part "you're the popular one the popular chick it is what it is now I'm popular ish " then Mika came on stage and sing with me !!! I was very surprised !! It was very good

It`s time to share my dream, a weird one as always. I hope some things are prophetic, and some are NOT!

Here it is:

It`s "The Voice" backstage, we are - 4 fans - sitting in a small room, waiting for Mika . The show is in progress, Mika`s at work, and we`re all very nervous because we`re waiting to greet him and give him our presents. There are 4 of us - me, Sveta, Nastya ( who`s she:blink:??) and Melissa (?) - her husband Alexander is a musician of The Voice orchestra, he plays piano. ( If someone knows these people at MFC - tell me:aah:))

Then - ta dah - Mika enters the room!!! He`s very glad to see us, and asks a minute to change `cause his suede suit is wet. He goes away and comes back wearing ...a long silky scarlett gown! Girls are giving him presents in these big nice packages and I start thinking that my gift is too poor. It`s a coin - a Danish krone. ( Oh God why??) But it is pure gold. I hesitate to give the coin to Mika, not sure he needs it.... He looks at me with a question in his eyes like He`s interested. I smile at him.

Sorry , but then I woke up. Maybe , the right moment.

October is going to do four years since that terrible accident, if she and her partner decided to have a baby it's because her health is really good I'm very happy for her and the whole family. A baby is always a reason of joy and being a mother one of the best, if not the best things for a woman.
