He was supposed to perform in Bryant Park in NYC for Good Morning America but there was a major storm and they were forced to move it into the GMA studio instead. Room in the studio was limited so that meant some of the fans who had turned up to see the concert in the park were left outside to watch the performance through the window, and of course standing in the rain.

 

He decided to perform an impromptu gig at the Highline Ballroom (I think?) in the early afternoon so that all the fans who had come would be able to see him do a proper concert.

 

There are videos of his performance on GMA but the thing with the signs happened off camera. And it's very very unfortunate that there were no cameras allowed at the secret gig because Mika performed a song that he has never performed before or since. Only the couple of hundred people who were there have heard it.

I don't think so. I think it was more of a joke than anything.

I don't know why but I was convinced they hated each other! I thought that for ages!

Is there a backstory to this Bublè thing? Do they hate each other or something?

I'd just like him to gain more respect as a serious musician. Sometimes certain DJs have made fun of him, or just not played his music. An example of total disrespect for Mika, I remember, on the panel show Never Mind The Buzzcocks and (I think it was) Rufus Hound who made fun of Mika and said he was tied to a chair in the basement, listening to the radio, rocking back and fourth saying "why don't you like me." Rufus taunted that Mika is allowed some food, but is not allowed to make music anymore.

They would say it was a joke, but it's not a joke to me. I'd say it's an insult! Olly Murs was also on the panel, laughing his ass off, needless to say, I went right off him from that moment on!

So things like that, I want to see an end of for Mika. I'd love him to become a national treasure, a music icon, and be widely respected at last.

I remember that episode!! It was Noel Fielding as far as I remember! I got so angry after seeing that! It was so rude! I had to stop watching....

You have no idea how frustrated I hAve been today trying to find this interview ( I'm in Ireland and iplayer hates us) I have gone through so many dodgy sites in the hope of finding it.....
