I love all three albums and I can´t tell you which my favourite one is because it depends on my daily mood, so it changes too often to fix it

Yeah a lot of the time i am the same but my order is just what i seem to be in the mood for the most

Yeah i know its really hard to rate the and i'm not saying i don'y like TBWKTM and some of my favourite songs are from it but this is just my general thoughts

I know that everyone here loves all of Mika's albums and i do to, all for different reasons.

I love the first one because it was what brought me into the world of Mika and it will always be his first album

I love the second because of some brilliant songs in it which i love but i know this one less though because although i heard of Mika in 2007 and liked his music i never was a true follower til summer last year til i listened to his music deeply. So therefore his 2nd album with some great songs isnt my favourite.

TOOL is my favourite album because it was the one i was waiting and hoping for as a true Mika fan i love nearly all the songs in it and it is just really brilliant to me!!

Therefore after that i would rate Mika's albums like this:

1 - TOOL

2 - LICM

3 - TBWKTM

If everyone could rate their favourite Mika albums and give their opinion on my choices it would be cool

First what kind of hair type do you have?

Its quite long and used to be very curly but isnt too curly now.

Its brown and im not sure how to get it as curly as mikas

But the thing about EMD. What gets me is that EMD has been out for ages. It's not a new song anymore. The writer of that other piece of garbage has waited till now to say that his song has been stolen? His claim is as rubbish as his song, which isn't like EMD anyway. No one would believe it.

Its not a claim somebody just pointed out to me that the two were similar and so i made this thread

As a songwriter, Mika has to expect this kind of thing. Very often it's some unknown person, who notices something similar in the song of a well known songwriter, and decides to make a fuss, possibly for money, definately to get their own song noticed.

It's true to say, that sometimes, Mika's songs do remind me of others. But not the whole song. Someone mentioned Uw and the first line has always reminded me of something else. But I can't place the song.

But in Katy Perry's Hot and Cold, from the first time I heard it the whole chorus sounded like some song I heard in the 60s, but again I can't place the song.

Gaga's Born This Way is almost identical to a song by Madonna which I think is called Express Yourself.

So it's not so unusual to have a similar song. The great Andrew Lloyd Webber said once (this is not the exact quote) there are only so many notes on the piano, only so many cords, and ways they can be used.

There is something on YT actually about a cord progression that's been used in many pop songs. The two guys sing all the songs to the one cord progression. You'd be surprised how many songs it's been used in, and one is Happy Ending.

There is also a vid about a well known piece of classical music called (now I'm not sure I've got the title quite right, but it's something like) Pacabel's Cannon, and once again Happy Ending is one song they say was based on that piece of music.

Somone might know those two vids.

But this is not worth worrying about. Songwriters expect this kind of thing and I don't think for a minute Mika did it on purpose if a song he wrote is like someone else's for a line or two.

Yea i understand i just got really worried as i love mika and elle me dit but i see quite a few differences as well to know that mika wasnt intentionally copying

Yes, or if he's finished I don't know But he will be in The Hobbit and 12 years a slave. And he's in Parade's End that will air this friday, and a simpsons episode that hopefully will be out soon.

Well, there's an undeniable similarity, but that doesn't automatically

mean that Mika heard it and deliberately "stole" the melody.

 

He does listen to all sorts of music online, so he might

have heard this at some point and had it rattling around in his subsconscious... then used it months later not really realizing where the tune had come from.

 

 

Or, perhaps one of his other writing pseudonyms is iRome.

 

I suppose this won't be the last we hear about this.

I agree about the subconscious theory and i remember a few years ago when that coldplay guy got sued for doin something like this without knowin it Im not sayin mika will get sued because the coldplay ones were really similar
