  1. So Brighton and London look good for me

Brighton might be a bit too close to Easter tho as I know my co worker is already off at Easter

(I could do it in a day but wouldn't get much sleep and have to be up at 5am)

London still looks best as more likely to get time off

Going to see how much tickets are and maybe book both and see

I'm not at work ATM so don't really want to message to check her time off

Both are seated too by the looks of it

  2. So I had a weird Mika dream

Basically Mika had done a concert in Wales and his team damaged some precious rock or something so he took them to court

But not a normal court some world court that id he won the case they would become they king of freedom (the country )

They won and expected Wales to have the title but Andy came over with a lebenese flag and Mika was now the king of freedom

I will do a sort my photos ect and  post when I'm back where I'm staying and a bit dryer (they are on insta already )

But while I'm still at the festival I'll give basics

I got the festival around 10 and queued for about an hour but was near the front

I wanted to explore a bit so didn't get to the stage untill about 12:30 but still was quite close to the front and could somewhat see well

Onto Mika it was a short and mostly classic set but still very enjoyable, it started raining just as he started but he still got into the crowd during big girl and after decided to stay on the platform getting more wet as he went on

HIs piano was broken so he couldn't play GK on it.

The crowd was such a good atmosphere for him

I Certainly enjoyed myself and for my first festival it was great

These are the only ones of mine that are decent

The rest are on my insta but are all low quality

In case you take a festival bus: I think they all arrive at gate 3. Just continue to walk on the main street and you will arrive at gate 5.

I won't be taking the festival bus since I don't think it stops where I'm staying, I'll ethier be getting of at the bus station or one of nearby stops on the the 9

I'll check again to see if I can work out which entrance to get to

  6. Just wanted to give some thoughts/advice having been on the island a few hours

Transport (busses) seem good however are delayed esp around Newport and the festival so give yourself more time then you think (idk where you are staying )

There's a specific festival shuttle but but I think general busses are slightly quicker

But obviously delayed there are 3 9s next to each other as I type this

(just what I overheard local people say regarding shuttle vs regular  )

Busses also have a festival specific ticket as an option idk what this is as I've got a whole weekend festival ticket

This is probably common knowledge and I'm not needed

Wasn't sure where to mention this so I hope it's appropriate here.

This Sunday from 7pm the UK TV channel 'Sky Arts' will be broadcasting the Isle of Wight festival live! (at least I think it's live). The TV schedule goes from 7pm - 12am, in the TV magazine I have it doesn’t mention Mika but it might be worth a watch for anyone not going!

For anyone who is going watch out for a camera crew! I hope it does get filmed!

I would assume it'll be showing anyone who is on main stage which Mika is

However he's at 3:35pm so looks like it'll be after him so he won't be on TV

Yeah, it'd be a lot more convenient if Sean was on at some point after Mika, that would fill the time between Mika and Robbie... I want to watch Blondie too, but there's still 2 other acts between Mika and her... well maybe they're good too. It's nice to discover new artists at festivals - and somehow more relaxed after Mika's performance, because then I don't care that much anymore about being in the front. :lol3: Anyway, looking forward to it, sounds like it'll be fun, with so many stages and artists! :biggrin2:

Ella to Niall  are are people I like so so I know I'll enjoy that

The earlier artists sound interesting the first girl (Phenix at 11) only has one song on Spotify but it sounded nice so maybe I'll get there for her

I wanted to see Robbie but he might be a little late for me but we'll see ive never been to a festival so will be a new experience for me

Thanks, just downloaded the app... Sean Logan will be playing on the same day too! But on a different stage. From 2:25-2:55pm. I think I'll decide when I'm there whether I'll leave my spot to watch his performance...

Ella Henderson is just before Mika who is the other artist I really wanted to see

Unfortunately she's the same time as Sean too would

Nice to be able to plan a bit more now

So, I decided to go to this and Bristol, just booked my flights. Didn't think I could do both, but well, mostly it's just a question of figuring out how, not if. :lol3: Are you all staying on the Isle of Wight overnight? I think I'll be staying in Southampton and taking the ferry from there and back on the 18th - at least that's what I figured out is doable.

Now I just have to hope that there's no problems with my flight back on Thursday because of the NATO flight exercises. I'll be arriving at Heathrow late on Saturday, at least that should work without problems. Anyway, as they're offering the flights, I suppose they have some sort of plan. I think it's less flights per day than usual.

Also I'm planning to go to London on the 19th to see ABBA Voyage - would any of you be interested to join?

I'm staying on the Isle of wight from Friday as I'm going to the explore the area on Saturday. (I've been before but not in a while )

Staying in Southampton is probably good as the passenger ferry is only 30mins and not too far to Newport after (I think an hour but can't remember for certain now )

    Hopefully I'll see everyone there
