elanorelle Posted January 6, 2008 Share Posted January 6, 2008 I have fallen in love with Sarah Waters who has written beautiful historical fiction with beautiful romanticism yet with gritty reality . Most of her writing is based in Victorian England, however her latest book, The Night Watch is a bit later starting in 1941 in England in World War 2. I find her writing honest, realistic , historically accurate and frequently has very tender romances between women. Her books have been made into Miniseries on BBC. Her books include Tipping The Velvet Fingersmith Affinity Night Watch I am not that fond of historical fiction or romance as some is so bad and cheesy and bleh..but her writing is so refreshing...very Dickens and DH Lawrence styles of writing...some of the best I have ever read! anyone Sarah Waters fans???? her website: http://www.sarahwaters.com/index.htm Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
