Guest
Hi Next to Mika I'm a big fan of Damien Rice. I don't know if there's a thread about him already ... if so, feel free to remove this one. http:// www.damienrice.com/ For the ones who don't know him already: he is an Irish singer-songwriter who plays folkmusic mainly. He has two albums, "O" and "9". My favourite songs are "Cannonball" and "Eskimo". Like Mika he's also a visual artist - a painter. I found out about him just a year ago ... so I haven't got the upportunity to go to one of his shows. I hope him comes to Belgium soon!!!
Droopsy
I love his voice. My favorite song has to be 'the blower's daughter'. I think it's absolutely gorgeous and yet so fragile/delicate. 9 crimes is beautiful as well of course. I got introduced to his music a few years ago because of a friend. He's obsessed with him
Em'
Ahhhhhhh I'm a big fan of Damien Rice too! Can't wait to see him perform one of those days ! I particularly love Cold Water Eskimo Amie Accidental Babies I discovered him through Taratata. I had heard about him and several times thought "MMh I have to check him out" and never did. And one day I was at home on the computer with Taratata on TV, and suddenly I heard this unplugged song which just grabbed me, I raised my head and was like "WTF is this?". And it was Rootless Tree which he was still singing with Lisa Hannigan at that time... When they were done singing then Nagui introduced him and I thought: So THIS is him! The day after I ran to the music store and bought "O". Not long after I bought his EP and "9". And he had been in concert in France just a month before . And now when I go on holiday to Ireland I bother my friend to put Damien Rice on, because I can't be sightseeing in Ireland without Damien Rice on at least a few times... Guest
It's nice there are other Damien Rice fans here. It was a coincidence I've got to know his music. Someone in Belgium made a cover of his song Cannonball a year ago. I immediatly liked the song, but I didn't knew it was a cover. When I found out I immediatly searched for the original ... I fell in love with the song even more. I went to the store and got both Damien Rice CDs.
