And RAK1 I firmly disagree with what you said... Celine Dion doesn't write her songs but she is still an artist... Singing is an art full stop. And i'm sorry but she does it very well... You don't like her fine, but you simply can not say that she does not have a huge voice. Technically she is a delight to hear!

Anyway, you can't compare Mika & Leona, their background is completly different... Leona's coming from a lower class family in Hackney (the place was elected the worst one in the UK where to live in 2006). Well put yourself into her shoes, you can't afford creating your own music, but you know you have that gift, that voice, what can u do ?!.... then you know about those TV Shows... it is an opportunity... It does not take off her talent, but it exploited at its best...

Mika didn't need it, good for him...

And by the way, she participated at the writing of some songs on her album and recorded her own before but never got a release.

Bad week for Mika in The UK Charts

He lost 17 places in the album charts, He is now 27.

He is still the second best selling album of the year (a bit less than 900K copies) behind Amy but Leona Lewis sold a massive 376 000 copies in its first week and is set to sell a lot more until christmas... so he may lose his 2nd place...

He also lost the 2nd place for the best selling single of the year, Grace Kelly is now 3rd behind Leona & Rihanna...

Let's hope than Relax & Lollipop will push the album back in the top 10

She'll always be more popular in the UK for sure because of the show... But it doesn't mean she can't reach some other countries... I can clearly see that kind of songs popular abroad including the states, it's a matter of promotion then & taking the UK by storm as she is doing can only be good on ur CV. Previous winners had different songs with a cheesy Pop UK Sound, but this time that song can be exported... It's not a coincidence if famous producers wanted to work with her. You can hear the difference.

I/We didn't created her, we made her win the show because of her talent, she has all the credit for that, she is the one that sang beautifully all those songs!

She is the only one coming from X-Factor with such a strong impact (I don't mean sales for the moment, but i mean her voice and this huge buzz around her)

Come on! There are thousands of female singers with a better voice than hers. So it's either her songs or her style/ personality has not be unique.... neither of which is... :thumbdown:

Simon Cowell did not create her! He, with the Xfactor team, found her. She made huge performances during the show, most impressive ever for such a show.

There's always singers with a better voice than an other but as long as the voice is there, that's enough (it's a matter of tastes)... And at the moment, who has such a powerful voice (and new)?!

I heard her album and there's a big lack of originality but it's alright. Why I did that? because i enjoyed watching her last year for several weeks and wanted to hear her solo material. I bought the single because i like the song (80% for her voice) What don't you get there ?!

EDIT: within 3 days she sold 230 000 copies, so she should pass the 300K mark easily.

I do understand why people bought that cheesy song that was released after she won Xfactor last Xmas but why are they buying this one?

She must be either a loveable person or with some very poor background / sad history that make people love her that much.

I think the single is very good! I wasn't expected to buy one of her CDs though i think she is very talented, but the song grew on me quite fast and i absolutely love her voice in this song. I'm pretty sure she'll be successful outside the UK if she is well promoted.

I think the argument that she must be a loveable person or with a very background is weak... I mean, any body with a minimum of knowledge in Music would admit that she has a strong, powerful voice... this is a fair reason why she can sell that many CDs...

I don't get you, how can you understand that she can sell loads of copies of her 1st single (I hated it lol) but not of this one ?! simply because you don't like the song ?!

Leona will probably sell more than 300 000 copies in her first and with Christmas arriving, Mika HAS to stay in the top 20 until christmas to keep its 2nd place because Leona will probably sell loads of copies (Take That sold more than 400 000 during Christmas week)

She won the X-Factor (kind of Pop Idol) last year. Her voice is just amazing! She is not some random pop idol winners, she is truly different, she is a diva!

Grace Kelly is not the best selling song of the year anymore in The UK... Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis did more in 3 weeks time...

The album of Leona is released next week, 300 000 were already pre-ordered, so LICM can lose its second spot in the best selling album of the year as well...

Well we'll have the sales for this week on Sunday but according to the mids, Leona sold more than 120 000 copies this week so she'll be around 340 000 so within 2 or 3 weeks she'll be n°1 and Mika probably n°3 as Umbrella is selling more than Grace Kelly.

Well In France, LICM is the biggest selling album of the year and will still be by the end of the year!

Anyway, I enjoy it but I think i'm quite bored of him live and I'm getting sick of this childish side of him, so i think i'll try to sell my London ticket...

she was the support act for the Scissor Sisters at the Zenith back in May 2007. It was suprising at the begining, but when it's over, you realised that you've actually liked it

You gotta be kidding me! You can't seriously believe that most of the people bought tickets for themselves. Yes there was indeed a high demand but this ticket sale hell is very very dubious!

Here's why...

 

1) The first Zénith date did take a few days to sell out and it was the only one announced for autumn. What's more is that everyone knew about it, unlike with this one...

 

2) I went to the fnac the day before and the people there didn't even know that the ticket sale would start the day after! Plus there has been no promotion whatsoever, well at least I didn't notice anything. At Virgin megastores nobody even knew about that fnac exclusive concert. It seemed like knowing about the concert was insider knowledge.

 

3) The sale was on a Tuesday morning. People normally work at this time and don't have the time to buy thousands of tickets within 90 min! And I really don't think that all of the Relax-singing-"bobos":naughty: took the day off to get their tickets!

 

It may seem great that Mika is selling his tickets this fast but what happened with this concert is not to be considered positive!

Rubbish

1-The first date was sold out within 2 days. And it is the only extra date added for the French tour, so not only parisians may have booked a ticket

2-Employees of the FNAC may simply don't know or care about ticket sales in advance. I saw details about this everywhere on the net and even on the Fnac website 2 days prior to the date.

3-Tickets always go on sale on week days (including Madonna or U2 in the middle of the afternoon)

When you have sold 700 000 copies of ur album within 6 months, you can easily sell out a zenith in a matter of hours especially when you know that the first date and Olympia were sold out quickly

Well don't try Madonna or U2, this is what I call a war lol!

I got my ticket easily at 10AM!

Yes some people bought some tickets in order to put them on ebay but i'm sorry most of the people bought ticket for themselves and they are simply not on this forum! 6 dates sold out in France and there aren't that many French people in here!

i don't think there will be another date for this tour, it's already full booked... i'm surprised they added this date, but they don't have other available days if they keep the pace they seem to have chosen (3 concerts / 1 day off...)

Anyway bought my ticket at 10 AM and 10 minutes later it was unavailable on the website, then i went back in bed and slept 3 hours lol

My friend who was working at 10AM today noticed that the FNAC was crowded!
