  1. :wub2:

I have a confession to make about Somebody to Love but I only dare to say it on the Queeniac thread as that's where I might be forgiven for my outragous thoughts and weird associations....:teehee:

    ...

    ...

The STRUCTURE of Happy Ending reminds me of Somebody to Love:blush-anim-cl:

    :swoon:

so many mika songs remind me of queen so so many

  2. It is a Beach Boys song and came out under the name of Larry Lurex (reference to Gary Glitter:naughty:)

    Here is the story behind:

"During the Summer of 1972, QUEEN were to be found lurking in the corridors and reception area of Trident Studios, London, waiting for any available studio time so they could work on their debut album.

Their sudio deal with Trident had not yet been signed, and the likes of David Bowie and Elton John kept the studios - then considered the best in London - extremely busy.

At the time, Trident staff engineer/producer Robin Cable was working on an old Beach Boys song called "I Can Hear Music", a song co-written with Phil Spector.

Spector had recently been in the studios recording with his wife Ronnie and, suitably inspired, Robin decided to have a go at re-creating the 'Spector sound' himself.

He'd heard FREDDIE MERCURY singing with Queen and, aware that the band had plenty of free time in between recording sessions, he asked the singer if he'd sing the vocals for the track in question.

At Freddie's insistence, fellow Queen members Roger Taylor and Brian May were drafted in to add percussion and guitars, though bassist John Deacon was not present at recording."

i know fred sang this as Larry L but its the wrong vid, wow you have encyclopedia brain :thumb_yello:

  3. :teehee: think i can feel the album and a bottle of wine coming out :thumb_yello:

you are right fred, his so much like mika even my dad said it :naughty:

they have the same front teeth too, join me in the wine and album im already there:roftl: you not in hampshire are you !!

  4. As long as Brian May also sees Freddie in him I don't think we need to explain it to anyone...:wink2:

Btw, Brian was soooo right about Mika's piano playing.. Even though he is obviously a much less accomplished piano player , the way he hits the keyboard reminds me so much of Freddie... You have Freddie's energy and sense of rhythm in his fingers.:blush-anim-cl:

    i soooo agree

  5. I so see fred in him, they both quirky did it their way but by doing so, they are not that alike, i mean mika is way much more press friendly, but then fred was famous in such a judgemental time. But they share an inspirational spirit

  6. If I came in now hmmmmm , you need some amount of confidence you know ? and belief , maybe I would

Being there from the start helps , thank the lord I done that Newcastle Uni gig

Funny enough .. Andi just said .. feb 24th , exactly 3 years since we saw him there in 2007

    Aint that weird!

three years, those concerts were the best, so small and Mika was so raw(for want of a better word)

Fred I cant imagine you without self belief, but i guess some of the ppl in here are quite exuberent characters:wink2:

  7. i didnt know there was a thread on queen :boing::boing::boing:

my lousie calls freddie, freddie deadie :naughty:

best time i saw them sing was at live aid 1984 'give us your f***ing money' :roftl::roftl:

That song prob wont go down to well in here:roftl: anyway welcome and LIVE AID lucky you that was awesome, although the interview after makes me pee my pants:roftl: the sincerity is just too much to take, esp from Rog :wags_finger:

  8. I know what you mean... I went there on my very first visit to the UK, in 1993 and I also passed by once more 3 years ago after I was away from London for several years...

It was a kind of pilgrimage, I suppose - sounds weird, I know. :teehee:

not wierd atall i know how you feel, i think we all do in here, some people just break into your heart and never ever leave. Sometimes even ppl who dont really know us, like fred and mika (but we feel like we know them) and it is weird makes no sense to me

  9. For the MFC , I always remembering reading an article where Freddie used to see the Queen fans from the fanclub and call then the "Royal Family" .. I suppose thats where the MFC is going :mf_lustslow:

all fab fred, i still think of you as a dark horse though and I mean that in a nice way, you are just so friendly on here and im prob the only person who hasnt met you, which is rubbish. Anyway how cute was Mr Mercury when he welcomed the royal family at his concerts, really sweet, you could see his smouldering beaming smile was so full of pride at making them all so happy!! God love him...and yeah Mika's MFC is just the same you are so right.

  10. well i wish i was allowed to too, we are far too sensible in my house:boxed: You are doing a great job of stalking him:roftl: and leading the troops

So whats changed since youve been a mika convert Fred, its been a while, is there any budding mika romances for you? Has youre life got better, or was it already great

  11. Im so with you on that one fred, Its so gutting to never have seen him. It is just amazing I can be totally miserable and in despair with my life and i stick on a Queen dvd and its like 'going home' I love that feeling hows he do it, i dunno, but so wish id seen him live too, it sucks

  12. I rem seeing your pix of your visit on here, they were really good. I went there ages ago, after he died, just saw lots of messages, didnt do much for me though, i just felt like i didnt belong there, weird, i often feel like that though:blink:

  13. Im coming with my 2 boys so will be in the seats :shocked:never tried that before, will be nice not having to Q, but will miss out on the Qing antics, still will be ace to take the kids, they are going to love it! And see you at the stage door:biggrin2::wink2:

nearly 2 hour drive for us, may book the kids off school for the next day
