  1. you people make me laugh.

Music, 30 years ago, was totally different. No cell phone cameras, no screens projecting to the cheap seats. Pot smoking etc. And Grace Jones and Annie Lennox being "old women?" Elton John, some 30 years ago, inspired the SAME enthusiasm as MIKA is currently. And I personally thing MIKA has "the potential" to BE an artist of Elton John's stature and longevity.

Please people. Crowd surfing wasn't in existence 30 years ago. 30 yrs ago, music was, mostly, DISCO!!!!! One hit wonders; you know, like SAM SPARRO.

    YOU make ME laugh.

If you find music 30 years ago to be so substantial, please build a time machine, set it to 1979, and stay there. I will fund your project.

  2. I SECOND OLIVE GARDEN!!! <you know that>

. . . HERE IS WHAT THE DEAL IS:

We are all gonna meet at a restaurant. (like OLIVE GARDEN) :licks_lips: and then go to the Villa . . . where the 'official' MFC Christmas Party will take place! The dinner is NICE - but, eff that we are having a REAL PARTY! I hav lots of surprises that I am not revealing! YOU HAVE TO WAIT and see. But, I am going to say this: IT IS GOING TO BE A HELL OF A PAR-TAY! :kachinga:

    that sounds awesome!:punk:

have you got mika in suitcase? :biggrin2::roftl:

  3. the first time i heard this song, i thought it was creepy and sounded way too much like george michael. for a while i didn't even listen to it. when it got closer and closer to my next mika gig, i started listening to it. i put aside the creepiness, and it turns out i love it! it's my second fave song on the album, and my second fave live :wub2:

  4. Yes, and this place is wwaaayyyy nicer then where we stayed last year! Me and the boys have stayed at this place before and it was AMAZING! And it is in SUCH a great/convienient location! we will have to get the samekind of juice cause you are right - it can't be beat!

OMG Alex - NEW MOON . .. so soon! :aah:

is that the place you were telling us about, last year?

i could bring some 'juice' that i have at my house if i still have some. it's raspberry.

AHHHHHHHH!!!! less than a month, now!

  5. I AM SO HAPPY it just would not have been the same for me or Bri without you there!! And NOW we are having an after party at the townhouse AND celebrating Bri's BIRTHDAY! So it is going to be a total BLAST - this calls for some of our famous JUICE! :naughty:

woohoo! it will be awesome! :dance_man:

that 'juice' was good and cheap. you can't beat that :wink2:

  6. ha ha ha I remember that! Didn't you leave your cell phone at home! THAT must have been SCARY for them!!!! :lmao:

OH that is GREAT news!!!! I am going to move you from maybe to YES - just because . . . :roftl: If I have to change it, I will reluctantly! :aah:

ya, i did! it only took a few days to get a talk :naughty:

okie doke. i'm more on the yes side, than the maybe :thumb_yello:

  7. THAT WAS W E I R D!? :boxed:

    :roftl:

    it was hilarious, though!

I think the BEST route is:

keep feeding them info each day. You know just how MUCH - don't want to get on their nerves! I should really talk to them. Then OF COURSE when I come get you MEET THEM <hopefully that will put them at ease> and just let them know that MY KIDS 15 & 13 will be going with us (they will meet them as well) ONCE they see that we are 'normal' peeps - I am SURE it will be fine! I had to go and meet Alex's parents - and then a month later we were on a plane together flying to NYC to see Mika! :kachinga: I can't be THAT bad! :teehee:

they only thought you kidnapped me lol. some advice: bring your cell phone so your parents don't get worried :roftl:

i'm probably going to be able to make it. work is going to kill me for taking so many days off :boxed:

  8. My report.

it will probably be short :naughty:

foalbaby14 and i got to the venue around 4pm, and we got to hear the band warming up with grace kelly. the door was open so we peeked in and you could see everyone! it was so exciting! then we went across the street to the restaurant to wait for the other MFCers. after a while, everyone started showing up, and that's when it started feeling real for me. time seemed to fly, and before you know it, we were being let in to the theatre. the theatre was very beautiful and old, i love that kind of thing :wink2:. foalbaby's seat was front row, while mine was 2nd, but in the aisle. being 5'1'', i really hoped that there would be a child or midget in front of me. by the time gary go came on, 5 seats next to her were opened, so i sat in one of them. soon after, the people that were supposed to sit there showed up, so i asked the lady next to foalbaby if i could stand next to her during the show, and she said yes.

when Mika came on, everyone ran up to the stage and it was such a rush! after 3 songs, i guess security got worried about the stage, and started pushing everyone back. Mika signaled so many time for us to move up, but every time we did, we were all but pushed back. at one point i saw a man being shoved back, pretty hard. i yelled out "police brutality!":naughty:, later i heard that he was kicked out. for me, the high points (as if there are low ones:wink2:) were "rain", "we are golden", "dr. john", "happy ending", and of course "touches you". i decided to put that songs creepiness aside and love it, about 2 weeks ago, but when i heard it live :mf_lustslow::wub2: it was the most wonderful thing i've ever heard! during lollipop when all the balloons came out, i saw the perfect moment to hit a security guard with a balloon, and it was just my luck that it was the one that shoved the guy. before you know it, it's all over and you're being shooed out of the way by security.

deb was nice enough to secure some passes for the MFC, to meet Mika afterwards. i don't think anyone had an idea as to how many people also had passes. there must have been close to 100. walking up to our seats, we passed cherise and emma, and said hi. before Mika came out, we were told that he could only do autographs, and nothing more. he must have gone through the 30 of us in about 3 minutes, he was being rushed! when he got up to me, all i could manage was giving him the cd to sign and giving him moraccas. within 2 seconds of finishing, we were already being yelled at to leave. when we got to the lobby, we stopped for a minute to put our coats on, and we got yelled at to leave. absolutely rude! when we got outside, we went around to find the stage door, in hopes to have an extra minute with Mika. it was the same kind of deal. there were probably close to 50 people there, and he was rushed through them in 5 minutes. foalbaby was able to get a hug, but i didn't think of it til after, so i got a hand shake. better that than nothing.

over all, it wasn't my best experience. but performance-wise, it was the best. absolutely tops!

    hmmm... that was quite long!:teehee:
