Wow, you all are awesome!! I feel like I have my own tourguides!! And, thanks for the Lebanese restaurant tips---I am half Syrian/half Slovak, so Lebanese food is pretty darn similar to Syrian food and will be great to have. I know Indian restaurants are popular there, but I get so sick on curry, that I have to avoid those, oh well. I am so excited for this trip. I wonder if there is a place I can listen to Mika's concert at Somerset House??? Thanks, everyone!!!!

I am so excited to travel to London in July---it will be when Mika's concert is at Somerset--but my boss approved the trip this week and tix were already sold out. I will be taking a course at the Homeopathic Hospital (I think it is in the Bloomsbury district) for two weeks. I have never been to London and am so excited. I want to see the Tower of London definitely, but what else do you suggest? I am not sure what my hours at the hospital will be---considering here in Philly I work 12-14 hour days----but I hope my weekends will be free. Thanks in advance!!!

Yes, at least they mentioned him. I always thought of them as a tough magazine---and one geared more toward indie music. So, the fact that he's in there and they didn't slam him is a good thing.... -
As soon as I heard that on the podcast, I thought, that's how my relatives talk (I am half Syrian).....so cute!!!!

I voted and we also have to vote for him on Vh1's top 20 video countdown!!!!

Mika is mentioned in the latest issue of Spin magazine (US magazine)--twice! First on p 65 in the article "The Best of the Bottom of the Bill" referring to the festivals this year: Mika Coachella A disco-breathing, loungey Freddie Mercury disciple, Mika throws a lifeline to the festival-goers who want to like Scissor Sisters but get turned off by their machismo. Then in the record review section: Mika Life in Cartoon Motion, ***1/2 stars Not trapped in the closet, giddy fop feels like dancin'. From the Beatles at their campiest to the Scissor Sisters at their catchiest, this Lebanon-born Londoner comes on like an agreeably eager compendium of every gay and gay-ish pop act of the past 40 years. Sometimes he veers too close to his source material and surrenders to sap (check the Robbie Williams-sucking "Erase" with its fleeting rip of the Cranberries' "Zombie"), but mostly this UK-chart-topping magpie makes good with bountiful tunes and Broadway vocal dazzle that could slay even the High School Musical crowd. On tonight's (April 19) episode of Ugly Betty, Betty goes to a hot NY nightclub. What is playing in the background? A dance mix of Grace Kelly!! They usually have the episodes on abc.com afterwards to view for free if you want to check it out!!!

As I was watching the US Dancing with the Stars results show Tuesday night, I heard the host saying something about next week's show blah blah blah and "the music of Mika". I thought I was hearing things...I am going to his concert tomorrow night, so maybe I wanted to hear his name I know on the results show they usually have a live performer...last night was Dionne Warwick. Maybe they will just do a dance to one of his songs? They are doing the jive and tango next week. I checked the DWTS message board and didn't find anything. Anyone know anything?? or am I just hearing things???
