Mika has cancelled two shows in London, including one tonight, after falling ill, it has been confirmed. The flamboyant pop star was due to appear at Hammersmith Apollo this evening and Brixton Academy tomorrow. However, today it was announced that the gigs are off as the Beirut-born singer is suffering from a virus and must rest his voice for 48 hours. In a statement, Mika said he had hoped to continue with the tour, after playing the first of three London dates last night. "I thought after last night's performance I could do the shows, but this morning it was obvious I could not proceed", he explained. "After consulting a specialist, I have been advised to rest my voice for a minimum of 48 hours. "If I did not do this, I would risk long-term damage to my vocal cords", said Mika, who hopes to reschedule the concerts in the New Year. . Mika releases a new single, "Relax (Take It Easy)", on December 31. Watch Mika's music videos here...

MIKA's next single will be 'Relax (Take it Easy)' backed by 'Lollipop'. The single will be released on 31st December in CD, 7" vinyl and limited edition USB stick. The radio versions, plus a whole range of remixes, will be available to download on 21st December. The album versions are available to download now
