Soooooo hope this hasn't been posted. But you can now pre-order We Are Golden the album on iTunes.
It confirms the album cover is the one which earlier appeared on Mika's myspace.
It has 30 seconds preview of every song on the album, and the fully produced version of the demo 'Lover Boy' It also seems that both 'Blue Eyes' and 'Toy Boy' are the versions on the EP....

Cool it is good to know, tht someone is taking care of the info on wikipedia !!! thanks for taking charge of the info
hey i can't help but notice that "Pick Up Off The Floor" has seemed to make the album, is it the same one i'm thinking, which includeds the lyrics "put your heart back in your pocket and pick your love up off the floor"
It's no problem at all, surprised no one else has been looking after it.
Yeah you're thinking of the right song, looking forward to hearing it!
-
Do you think 'Lover Boy' will be the demo version or a newly recorded one? I hope for the latter.
Also regarding Wikipedia:
i didn't know where to put this but i thought you guys might wanna see this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mika%27s_second_studio_album but remember what happened last time wiki-woo had info on mika's new album !!!I've taken on the job of moderating all Mika related Wikipedia pages to ensure the information is correct, and at the time you posted post this all information was correct with citations on every bit of questionable information. It'll stop anything like the last time happening again! hehe
Haha. What, where's "Dinasour" from the track listing? This article is saying this album is being released on Arista. WTF? It's wrong right from the first paragraph.
What do you mean by "Dinasour" I've looked at the version of the page at the time you said this and I don't see it. Also I'm not sure who put Arista there, it was the same for Songs For Sorrow, it's been corrected since.

HMV are now using this artwork as the album's cover but without the white text under it. Although this doesn't confirm it is the album cover, even more so if they do let Mika change the name, which I hope he does!
-
why? i think it's pretty cool
( just wondering though)
I'm expecting the cover to be similar to this but with the creatures Mika mentioned on BBC Radio 2 in an interview at the weekend.
Well it could be. The thing is, if we could see it in bigger, there's writing underneath the We Are Golden and it might say something useful. Does anyone know how we could see it any bigger ?I think the text will say something about it being a promo/sample version, as in the ones sent out for the press to review etc... I have quite a few from the last album which I brought off ebay, the artwork on each one differs from the final art.
So yeah, I think this is the artwork used on the promo sent out to the press.
-
I doubt it's the album cover and hope it isn't!
It could be another or an early version of the single cover as we have already been shown the single's cover last week:

Are you guys Sure "We Are Golden" is the name of the New Album??
Is there a Chance that it is just the Name of the "We Are Golden" Single CD, Limited Edition 7" and 12" being released September 7th????
I am just wondering if Mika has Confirmed the title yet??
It has been confirmed on his website, in a press release and he's said it on multiple radio interviews, however he's said he wants to change it so it's more 'ridiculous' Let's hope they let him!
-
Although the full songs is already all over the internet, according to this article, the full (I think) song will be on Mika's MySpace from 9am tomorrow for 24 hours.
-
So glad he wants to change it, knew it wasn't right for him to name it after one of the songs. After all I'm sure all the songs are amazing, so why should 'We Are Golden' hog the limelight? despite how amazingly wonderful it is. Can't wait to hear the new title if they let him change it!
-
so.... back to we are golden....
Haha about time!
Anyway, as with most people I did find the beginning part of the extract bizarre. However reflecting on it, I think it is intended to sound like the words are being said in the same confident, passionate and precise manner a preacher would say them. This also ties in with the use of the gospel choir adding to the epic sound of the song.

From the very short snippet I totally love it and can’t wait to hear more!

To get the points for LICM, EP and the DVDs you have to put them into your computer when asked to validate that you have them.
Hope that helps.
-
I love this so far I'm 5th with 9500 points. The downloads are great! but a number of them are things we already have like the animations and songs. I'm guessing we'll get our unique code from sandbags tomorrow?
-
I think it's great. Lots of albums take their title from the lead song. But, as someone has already said, it fits in with Mika's colourful image.
He could be brown, he could be blue, he could be violet sky etc, and now, he could be golden! It fits together so well.
It's a bit confusing having the single and the album named the same, but I think we'll manage to find a way to separate the two things.
For an artist that doesn't like to follow typical conventions, this seems to be like a pretty big one to follow. It's not very original despite what ever lame reason you use to convince yourself that it's a amazing idea. But that in mind it's only the title, it's the music that really makes it and that's sure to be out of this world. :biggrin2:

Really disappointed. Mika's a creative genius surely he could have come up with something just as, if not better as the amazingly titled 'Life In Cartoon Motion.'
-
"its official the next 12 months is all about outer space"
I'm not sure what others have said so far, but I've thought this ever since the new website was launched. I think the album will have a space or science fiction theme to it in terms of the imagery. Just look imagery used on the new website, and the editing/sounds effects used in this video, both are very connotative of space. I'd predict this theme would be carried across the album's imagery and even into his live shows.
Very exciting!

It's funny that back in March when I posted the play.com link on this forum you were all like 'No the album wont come out then,' and, 'If we hear anything about the new album it'll be from Mika first.'
Of course you will, of course.
-
Not sure if this has been posted yet but according to Play.com Mika's second album is due for release on Monday 28th September.

I do, Mika probably would've voted YES I DO! in the poll:glasses2:
I like it.

Sweetheart, it's obviously you're new here. We all lost our everyday life a year ago when we registered here and spend more time on here than in real life. We're a pathetic bunch of die-hard Mika fans who only leave the house either for a MFC meeting or a Mika gig.
That's how I do:naughty:
Sweetheart, I'm not new here, I've been a member for over a year now. I just choose not to post often. It doesn't make me any less of a fan than yourself, although I'm sure that isn't what you're implying. I'd not say pathetic, but it can be a little obsessive some times.
Oh and no problem daisylou

Hi daisylou -I like the name
You can be reassured that I wasn't angry when I wrote that post...though I wish I was chilled as it's bloody hot!
I just hear stuff like this all the time, and just feel it's one of them typical fan things to say. It gets slightly annoying.
And although you're joking the lot was a generalisation of us fans.

Because in Mika deprived times we need to get our frustrations out at least once a day.
Yawn
I would have thought there are more important things in everyday life to be frustrated about to be perfectly honest.
I like how you copied my yawn
-
I've voted.
But I fail to see what it has to do with Mika.
-
I doubt Simon had anything to do with editing and sound decisions....
simon cowell's so jealousUmmm no, what’s he got to be jealous of?
People reject people in the industry all the time. Why do you lot just zoom in and make a massive deal out of someone who’s also a TV personality. I very much doubt he cares at all.
Yawn
But it was nice to hear Grace Kelly.
iPhone/iPod Touch App
in Chat about Mika
Posted · Edited by Fresh
Bands have released iPod applications before and they have been proven as a very successful piece of marketing. Not only is it quick and easy to access but it also allows people to interact with the artwork, read some quick info and maybe even listen to some preview tracks. There wouldn't need to be a great amount of information on there. The 'corporate entity' would be Mika and his management who know far more than the this website.
Also I would argue against the MFC being the source for Mika information, yes the members do gather information from reliable news sources. But the MFC isn't the source of the information, in a similar way that wikipedia isn't the source-it just collects them and presents them together. You could easily find all the information on this site from simply googling.
Sorry if I come across quite negative, but a Mika app would be very viable and I'm sure a great thing for any Mika fan to have...provided they have a iPhone or iPod Touch.
