I think that he looks tired and bored though, and I can't say that I don't understand- I always thought that sitting through these awards ceremonies must be quite boring....I like the performances, but all the "entertainment" in between usually bores me to death...

And if he was sick too, I can imagine that going back to bed was a much more appealing thought, specially once he realised that the hadn't won.

I've been browsing in the Mika accent thread for a few days and everyone is sharing their wisdom on the correct use of their own language which got me thinking.......

Does anyone want to pick up a little of other peoples language in return for teaching someone else a little bit of theirs?

As a typical English person I don't speak another language although I know very basic school girl French.........which really upsets me and I'd love to learn from everyone on here at least a few basics of their languages.

I can just about translate a passage in French but have very little grammer to link words or say things correctly. I see that everyone thinks that Mika's grammer is good, probably due to picking it up as a small child naturally rather than having to learn it, so I guess it's easy for him to build on his vocabulary and apply the rules of grammer that he already knows.

Am I a lost cause or can anyone teach me anything?

Cos he's different from other artist's out there and he's not afraid to be himself, no matter how much people try to change him.

I think his singing is great. But more importantly, his song-writing is even better. He write about every-day things, which makes him more reachable as people can relate to his songs. And he uses such simple language, but it is this simplicity that is so meaningful in his songs.

3. Have u ever seen one of his music video? Which one? What do u think about the video?

Yes, I've seen all of them. Though Grace Kelly's my favourite, I like the way his videos involve normal people leading normal everday lives. Like in the video for Big Girl for example, the dancers are all regular people that you would see when you walk down the street. In fact, the video is set in the streets, making it possible for listeners to, again, relate to his music.

4. Have you ever heard this Billy Brown song before?

Yes, i listen to it almost everyday:bleh:.

5. If you have, pls tell me what do u think about the song, includes how u make a representation of the song (i.e it's just a song, meaningless.. or it tries to make an existence of the bisexual, and so on..)

I think the song is great. It's original; no one has written something like it before. It also deals with a very important isuue, which most songs don't talk about. It has a great mellody and it's great to listen to cos it has a story that you can follow throughout the song.

6. What kind of style when u think about him? (i.e, colorful, bold, and so on..)

Definately colourful and bold. Also original, unique, "psychedellic", artistic.

Ive been thinking about something similar to this for a while, and i forgot to put it in my last post.

 

Mika has a personal integrity which is admirable, he appears to be always true to himself. I think his integrity is also interpreted as the child-like innocence that he shows. He doesnt try to be anything that he is not esp. in his songs.
