I've seen this "review" too. I completely disagree with it. He did not playback, I am sure I heard his voice. It was very strong and very much live, even often not singing the recorded version of the song. She mentioned his trick being "pulling a troubled face while pretending to sing" but he has always done that while singing high notes. With Relax in the past recent gigs he often let the audience sing "easy", but here he only did so at the final chorus. The choruses before that he sang it himself.

 

Let me say that literally anyone can become a critic. There's no reason she has a better ear than any of us. I haven't watched any videos yet but his voice was indeed strong in reality.

I just read some other reviews this Kim Raven made: they are all a bit sour, so no suprise she did that with Mika too.

I'll also be there at about 14 or 15H. And alone too. But I think you're never alone when surrounded by other MFC'ers! 

I called the Hostelle the other day to aks if Nicky and I could stay on the same 4-person room. Then it isn't such a problem if we arrive there in the middle of the night and the other people are allready asleep. Perhaps the other MFC'ers who stay at the hostelle can also give them a call (the receptionist only speaks english btw) and ask for an arrangement to place Mika-concert goers in the same room(s).

Thank you, I found a train to go there, too, but it's been a little bit too difficult with the connection, because I'd only have 10 minutes to go to another train.

But I'll arrive on monday, visit the city and will stay in the female hostel, that's been mentioned here before.

I'm super excited for the concert!! It's going to be my first concert ever so I'm really looking forward to it. I've been a fan for 7 years and I'm finally seeing my idol in real life. 

But, I have a spare ticket (+train ticket) if anyone is still looking. I bought two tickets because I'm only sixteen so I don't really like to go alone (and none of my friends are a fan, didn't know that's possible!).

So if anyone wants to join me or has advice for a first concert/mika concert, it'd be amazing to hear from you!

I've booked a room (a bed ) in the all-female hostel!

It would be nice to walk together!

There are still beds in the hostel ... it's just not possible to book one room for the four of us. 

Oh okay. I was looking for a room with one bed (loving the luxurious life  ) but I'll check if they've still got something for me.

 

I don't know if other fans are staying here as well, but it would indeed be great if we walk together ... that's always better than walking alone in the middle of the night.

That's very interesting! I don't look forward of walking through Amsterdam on my own, so this would be ideal. We even could walk together; perhaps there are more fans who booked a bed in the all-female hostel?

He didn't! That was the point.... He just remained silent and wouldn't answer!

Usually that means he's going to do it. If he isn't he just could have said so.

 Product placement is annoying, especially when it's so obvious, but I don't understand why people are so upset. Mika needs money, sponsors give him money but want something in return, of course. It's not charity. Without money, there wouldn't probably be a new album, a new tour, new music videos and people would moan just the same.

"Mika needs money"? I'm sorry but that made me laugh a little! He's sold loads of records, had lots of (sold out) shows etc etc. If he makes a good album people will buy it. There's your money to make a nice music video. There's absolutely no need to make a commercial out of it!

I think it is really really sad that it seems to be necessary to use product placement in a music video!

In a Mika-music video for f...sake!

I became a Mika-fan ofcourse because I fell in love with Grace Kelly, but in second place because of his integrety. 

And that is complety gone by making a music vid into a tv-commercial or VV.

From now on I will only listen to the song, not watch it.

I like the other way round tho: the perfume commercial where they use Mika's song, that can be seen as a huge compliment.
