  1. Hey all!

So this isn't about what you think it is (or maybe I shouldn't assume anything, lol) but I just had a slight rant/something I found odd that I wanted to share.

So my friend works in LA as a composer. Last night I talked to him for the first time in months, so of course I had to update him on the Mika happenings in my life, i.e. the Toronto concert, how my sister (who he's known since she was about 5) was a Lollipop Girl at the show, how amazing Mika is, etc. And you know what? He seemed totally unimpressed with everything! Now I know I live in a small town in Michigan (where he's from too--we went to school together) and now he's in LA recording with famous people and going to Grammy shows, but all he could say last night was "cool." And I mentioned the bracelets that my sister gave Mika and that he wore to almost every show including the Grammys and all I got was a "Cool. I went to the Grammys last year. It wasn't that great." But his boss won a Grammy, so he went.

Maybe my Mika experiences aren't THAT exciting in the grand scheme of things, but I'm still totally thrilled with everything, and I guess...haha, I dunno I expected more of a reaction. I even showed him the YouTube video of my sister and Vero doing the nifty little Lollipop Girl dance and all I got was a:

    Him: "Cool."

Me: "So you saw her, right? She was on the right, in the pink dress."

    Him: "Yeah, great."

Me: (Not thinking he's looking correctly. Perhaps he thought she was in the audience or something, just dancing to the song.) "She was ON STAGE, in the pink dress, blonde wig, you saw her??"

    Him: "Yeah, cool."

    Me: *pulls hair out* :bleh:

And then I mentioned how Mika was nice enough to meet me, and how amazing that was because he didn't have to, and he said "It is nice to meet someone you admire, isn't it?" I felt like he was patting me on the head and saying, "Yes, yes, calm down."

So FINALLY I mentioned how talented Mika is, how he writes all his own stuff, designs everything for the shows with his mom and sister, yada, yada and AT LEAST by this point he said something like, "That's rare these days, good for him."

I dunno, maybe I just have more extreme emotions than most people (ha, wait--I KNOW I do) but I'd just hope that if we were to switch positions and I worked in LA surrounded by famous people and music that I wouldn't act so...bored and unimpressed by it. When he first moved to LA, he was SOOO excited by everything. Now it's just "cool."

And on a slightly off-topic note, I hope being in the biz over time doesn't make Mika jaded. Even 10 years down the road, I hope when Mika hears us singing along to his songs that it makes him smile and laugh like it does now.

    Thanks for reading. :thumb_yello:

Hi I have extreme emotions too one minute I'm laughing the next I'm crying! I totally understand what you are talking about. We just have to accept people's reactions sometimes. I always think what people who aren't big fans of Mika are missing out on!

  2. Once apon a time Mika was on an airplane on his way to a gig that was squeduled on a private island. He was very excited because he had never been on a private island before. That night he put on the best preformance of his life! But when he got to his hut he fell right asleep because he was so tired. He slept in so late he missed his flight! Although he was very worried he decided to be brave and roam the island. While he was in the forrest making friends with the wildlife he heard some loud noises he walked further to see if he could find what was making them. He did not expect what he saw next, it was a pack of monkeys throwing lollipops at a girl in a tree. Luckily he was still wearing his monkey costume from his gig, so he ran towards the monkeys who ran away in terror. He then rescued the girl from the tree and they gazed into eachother's eyes (little did they know this is the moment they fell in love) and suddenly the girl fainted. Mika carried her back to camp and layed her down on the bed, when she finally woke up he was sitting next to her "What happend?" she said."You fainted." Mika replied. "What were you doing in the forrest?" Mika asked. "I was stranded after your gig, I missed the flight. What are you doing here?" I missed the flight too." he replied. "Thankyou for saving me!!" she exclaimed. The next 3 weeks passed by when they finally ran out of food and water so Mika set out to catch some fish(which he hates) he worked so hard to catch his fish but he could only get one so he decided to set out and look for some water just then an airplane landed to come and save him so he ran to the hut and got the girl and ran to the plane. 2 years later they got married and lived happily ever after!!

    THE END!!!

I know how bad the story is!!! It's embarassing

Awww that's so lovely so romantic *sighs and wishes the girl was me* :blush-anim-cl: You're great at writing stories! xxxxxxxxxx

  3. I don't panic as such but I always get very very nervous on his behalf.

I just want him to do well, and for people to sit up and take notice of him, and for him to change even just a few people's minds about him.

I was incredibly nervous for him the other night. I don't think the pressure of opening the Brits can be overestimated, no wonder he was so nervous, and so were we, especially I think us Brits who know what a big event this was (even if it IS a bit of a circus... ).

It was a flawed performance but I still felt so proud of him, in a very mother-son way, when he'd finished. I wanted to hug him so tight!! I think I actually went and gave my six year old (aww 6 today!!) an extra big hug after, to kind of get it out of my system.

    :wub2:

I hugged my mum and dad when Mika won! I just got all overwhelmed like it was me who won it! I was beaming with pride! By the way, Happy Birthday to your little one! :happybday: xxx

  4. OMG!!! I thought I was the only one!!!! :roftl:

You're definitely not the only one! Before Mika was due to open the Brits at 8:00, I had to complete some coursework  and I just couldn't concentrate my heart was beating so fast! Then I was a wreck when he was performing. After that, whenever they read out the nominations for each award that Mika was up for, my hands went all clammy. Believe me, after the Brits, I should have been on tranquillisers! :blush-anim-cl:

  5. Just interested to see if anyone gets into a total mess like I do whenever Mika sings at a big event like the Brits. Do any of you feel like it is actually YOU going to perform on stage and put yourself in his shoes? Because yesterday I was so nervous for Mika, I went really cold and I couldn't do my work properly! :blush-anim-cl:

  6. Congratulations Mika! Everybody loves YOU today-well we love love you every day! I wanted you to win more but still, winning a Brit Award shows that people out there really appreciate your music! I love you so much and best wishes for the future xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx You sure are a star to me!

  7. i was watching at my lunch hr in office

my whole body's melting on my desk even it's a little screen in youtube :roftl: :roftl:

but when he sang grace kelly, i found something wrong...awww...his voice...

he was fantastic but not the best...:boxed:

kinda expected...haha..dun know why, he must get some illess or being freaking nervous during big shows..

he just can't take out the power as his own gig as usual

    though he's still lovely :wub2: :wub2:

Poor Mika! He's definitely still lovely I agree and he's our NO1!

  8. In the Daily Mail today they had a bit on The Brits and in like the gossip thing, it say spotted Mika running around screaming HAIR WAX CRISIS, and someone running behind him trying to tame his curly locks!!!

    XXXXX

Oh I saw that I couldn't stop laughing! Mika- a comic genius :punk:

  9. unfortunately the past few days haven't been as kind to me as many days usually are... but I guess I'd like to thank the earth for such a beautiful day today. Nothing could've brightened the day more.

Also, thanks for making this, it warms my heart. I think we sometimes forget the little things that make everyday worth living. Like little bursts of joy, if we recognized how much we all already have, we'd all be so much happier. :blush-anim-cl:

Well said! We often take for granted life's pleasures like bird song in the morning, the smell of freshly cut grass, ok I'm going on but I really do appreciate these things! I'd like to thank the earth and God for the things in life that make me smile.
