  1. Well in most of the Western US they say

    You're screwed!!

When you're going to get in trouble for doing something bad.

In OTHER parts of the US 'screw' means to 'make love to' :wink2:

When I moved from Nevada to New England, I said 'You're screwed!' to someone because they didn't study for a test and they were like

    "AM NOT!"

    :roftl: :roftl:

a screw is also used for building things with wood, they're like nails

    :roftl: :roftl:

    Regional slang is pretty funny!

  2. i know. they also think im an emo becuaze i always look sad. its becauze im always tired. but thats just what they think. they also dont like me cuz im different. i always wear 'odd stuff'' date=' i like rainbows. just cuz im kind of a hippie doesnt meen they can be nasty too me, i find it really sad. another reason why i want to leave school[/quote']

    don't leave school!!

  4. What I like about Mika is his openness about things. He doesn't try to hide who he is, or what his personality is like. If he wants something, he tries to get it.

He also doesn't blame his childhood or dyslexia problems on his parents. I can't tell you how many celebs blame their parents for how crappy they did in school, and how little friends they had.

Mika's not afraid to be himself. And that's what's important. If he was terrible at writing and singing songs, and was hideous, I would like him all the same. (For the record, he's AWESOME and singing and writing songs, and he's drop-dead gorgeous. :thumb_yello: )

I've always like Kelly Clarkson, but the reason her newest album hasn't sold so much, is because SHE wrote it. Her fans weren't used to HER personality, only her songwriters'. If she had written all her songs at the start, she'd be a bigger success. I admire her courage to express herself.

But I admire Mika's more, because he started out with that courage!

    :punk: Keep it comin' Mika!

  5. Check out this article dated September 28, 2006 - so just over a year ago. It says that Lorna was taking a gap year, and then going back to the Royal College of Music to study opera in the fall. That would mean that she was off for a year (and able to tour with Mika) but would now be going back to school:

    New star for opera

From the The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald, first published Thursday 28th Sep 2006.

Young soprano Lorna Bridge is starting her promising singing career with the Devizes-based White Horse Opera.

The 22-year-old, who has just completed a Bachelor of Music degree at the Royal College of Music and is taking a gap year before going on to the college's opera school, will be taking her first role as the central character of Tatyana in the forthcoming production of Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin.

After three years of dedicated study and practice, Miss Bridge is enjoying her first experience of working on a real production.

During a break in rehearsals in the hall at St Joseph's Primary School, in Devizes, she said: "I am loving working with the company.

"Everyone is so passionate about what they do. I am learning so much. This is what I want to do with my life. I couldn't ask for a better grounding."

Director Graham Billing said: "It is always wonderful when you have a singer able to play close to the age of the character."

Miss Bridge is fitting in well with other principals, including Phillip Borge as Lensky, Guy Robinson as Onegin, Nina Alupii Morton as Olga and James Davis as Gremin.

Musical director Francis Griffin is putting together a 22-piece orchestra for the production, which is being staged at the Corn Exchange on October 11, 13 and 14.

    That is SOOOOOOOO sad........ :tears:

  6. Well, we went to this amusement park one day a couple years ago (because nobody in my family had to work that day) and then we found out it was like... private Catholic school day. Which means that the catholic school kids got half price on tickets or something.

And my mom was looking for a parking space, and my dad screamed "WATCH OUT!" and the car jerked forward and there was a Nun, staring at the car. Then she walked off.

    That's pretty funny!!!

    :roftl: :roftl:

  7. :roftl::roftl: Yeah, seriously. I didn't even know who Grace Kelly was before Mika. I knew she was a "classic Hollywood" actress, but other than that I had no idea. Then, someone mentioned that one of their favorite movies was some Grace Kelly movie, so I decided to look her up on IMDB and was like, "Whoa."

Yeah she was pretty and dead.

That's all I knew about her.

    And then Mika came along.....*sigh*
