  1. So i am not quite sure how this is going to work out, but.....

today i visited the ellen degeneres show website and sent in this suggestion that she should bring mika on the show. it would really help people here in the united states become more familiar with him, because barely anyone knows who he is!! (at least where i live it's like that)

this was what my message said *clears throat*:

    "Hey Ellen!

I have a request to make. I was wondering if you could invite British pop sensation, Mika, to be on your show. You may have heard some of his more popular songs, such as “Grace Kelly” or “Love Today”. Mika is hugely popular in the United Kingdom. He is only 24 years old, and he has climbed his way up the charts with songs from his debut album, “Life in Cartoon Motion”. He has won numerous awards around the world, including “Best UK Male”, “Best UK Album”, “Best Songwriter”, “Best Breakthrough Act”, and many, many more. As a child, he had severe bullying issues, forgot how to read and write, and was pulled out of school for six months. He faced many setbacks while trying to get a record deal, but he continued to write songs and pursue his musical career. Even though Mika has dyslexia, he writes and composes all of his songs by ear. Mika is trained in classical voice, and has a vocal range of nearly three and a half octaves! He is truly a unique musician with a sound unlike any other artist. I am a HUGE Mika fan, but despite all his success in other countries, most radio stations in the United States won’t play his music! Quite frankly, it would be AWESOME if you would invite him to be on the show.

If you are interested in more information about Mika, you can visit his MySpace page:

    http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=79041575

    or his official website:

    http://www.mikasounds.com/

and here is a video of one of his performances (so you get an idea of how energetic he is):

    Thanks so much!

    Megan"

is that an okay message??? all my info is correct, i hope. or else that would be quite embarrassing. i wasnt sure about the 3 and 1/2 octaves thing, but i thought i heard it in another interview.

i tried to submit something to the oprah show first, but you had to be 21 or older. And for the ellen show, you only had to be 18. technically, i'm not 18 YET, but i will be in 8 days, so SHHHHH!! no one tell!! :wink2:

  2. WOOOOOHOOOO!!!

too bad i dont have a subscription to teen vogue anymore!! i might just go buy the issue JUST because of one pic of mika.

one time i was looking through an old issue of teen vogue (actually i think it was a bonus music issue) and i was randomly turning the pages, and BAM!! There was Mika!! :mf_lustslow: He had his own page and article!! I instantly ran around the house to show all my family members, even though they didn't care as much as me. And then i tore out the page and taped it up to the back of my bedroom door, which started my whole mika appreciation door. (well actually i just tape up anything i like on it, but majority of those things are mika related.)

so cool!!! and thanks for sharing! :naughty:

  3. Groar took little Pinky to a wonderful mountain made out of candy!! But mostly lollipops. There were lollipops all over the place, in lots of different colors. Then, all of a sudden, a handsome man with colorful skinny jeans and curly hair came out of the mountain and started to sing a song......

  4. I didn't think his dad was tall - not like Mika height tall. I was really just looking at his face, but since I'm only 5'3" I think I would have noticed if he was over 6' I think.

Mika seems to always tower over everyone. Even his bodyguards.

wow mika and i would make the perfect couple, because i am tall. if 5'7" is considered tall. :wink2:

  5. hi:bye:! indiana, awsome! so far away from Florida:bleh:

do you go to Purdue university?

    woo i voted for LoveToday:bleh:

    i can't believe they don't play mika! was it a country station?:naughty:

actually i am still in high school. i will be a senior in the fall.

and the station that wouldnt play mika was "TODAY"S HIT MUSIC" station!!!!

  6. Hey everyone, can you art genious give tips to draw like people's bodies(like mika) and faces? Thanks!:bleh:

i have a couple: to draw people i always work off of a photo. i graph the photo (usually in 1/2 inch squares) and then multiply it by 2, 3, or whatever. That way you can draw a bigger picture but keep the same proportions. then you just draw what you see in each square. Lightly sketch, of course. Am i making sense here??

also, when i am drawing i concentrate on what SHAPES i see, not what i am actually drawing. for example, when i am drawing a nose, i look at the triangle shape and draw that rather than try to draw the nose.

another thing that helps me is when shading, get the darkest and lightest parts down first!!! then you have established the range of values from which you want to work with. i prefer to use drawing pencils, because they have a larger range in value than regular pencils. and don't be afraid to do dramatic shading. it might look funny at first, but trust me, it will look better in the end. a drawing with no shading looks flat. again, when shading, look at shapes.

FACES: the corners of the eyes are usually at about the same level where the top of the ears should be. (you can feel it on your own face) the bottom of the ears should be where the bottom of the nose is. the eyes are always right on the center line of the head. (i know that seems weird but it's true.) the hairline is usually halfway between the eyes and the top of the head.

when drawing the mouth (mouths are hard), DO NOT DRAW THE LIPS FIRST!! many people try to do this and the screw up the proportions and don't get the smile right. first you should draw the line that divides the lips, them shade the lips accordingly. the dividing line should be most prominent.

man oh man, i did not expect to be writing this much!!

one last thing: always sketch out the entire picture first (with little shading). This way you can get the proportions right, and as you work on smaller areas, you won't get carried away and make a single part way smaller or bigger than it is in the photo/ according to the rest of the drawing.

*wipes forehead* phew!!! i hope that helps a little!! hope i wasnt too confusing, and if u have any more questions, i would be happy to answer.

p.s. if you are questioning if i really know how to draw or not, just take a look at my sig!! i drew those. lol just so you know im not making random stuff up!! :wink2:

  7. So I saw the "Dark Knight" yesterday and it was really good!! I was confused throughout most of the movie, but i didnt care because Heath Ledger was AMAZING!! and there's talk about Heath Ledger recieving an oscar for his performance as the joker!! the whole time i was watching the movie, i was like, OMG IT'S HEATH LEDGER!! :mf_lustslow:

its really sad what happened to him, he was so talented. I hope nothing like that ever happens to mika (but i dont think we have to worry because mika is smart enough not to get into drugs/ overdose on prescriptions.)

has anyone else seen the movie?? what did you guys think of it?? what did you think of Heath Ledger as the joker??

can't wait to hear everyone's opinions!

  8. "any other world" made me cry the first time i heard it (and many times after that). let's see here -

haha "circle of life" from the lion king,

    "graduation" vitamin c,

    "over my shoulder",

britney spears' "lucky" used to make me cry when i was like 10, and

"the world's greatest" by r. kelly.

  9. Haha, I reconize (how do you spell that word? :naughty:)your story! I also had it in a shop once. I wanted to buy Mika's dvd, and suddenly they played Happy Ending in the music store. So I was singing along and stuff. And then I came to the kassa to pay, the guy said: "Well well well, something said me you were going to pick this one when I saw you looking between the Dvd's when you were singing Mika"

    I was so ashamed. :naughty:

lol - DONT BE ASHAMED THAT YOU LOVE MIKA!!!

    you should be proud!!!

  10. i heard grace kelly at the U.S. Olympic swimming trials. that's a pretty cool place for it to be played i guess.

*GASP* my friend jenny connoly was at the olympic swimming trials!!! she is an amazing swimmer and has like all the records at our school!! i don't think she qualified for the team, though. but still, that is like double awesomeness that grace kelly was played, and that my friend was there!! haha WOOOOO!!

  11. The day I bought the LICM CD, Grace Kelly was being played in the music store in the mall. I walked in and I was like "AAAAAAAAHHHH, THIS IS MIKA!" because my sister had never heard of him. Then when I was at the cash register the clerk asked me if I was the one who was yelling about Mika. I acted like I had no idead what he was talking about.:blush-anim-cl:

omg i seriously just laughed out loud at that story!! that is TOTALLY something i would do, except when the clerk asked me about it I would confess, and be like, "YES BECAUSE MIKA IS THE BEST!!" haha i love it!! :naughty:
