  1. Hi all,

I was wearing a Mika T-shirt and hiking a popular route in Cape Town (Lion's Head) and while I was walking a European man (I think Italian), pointed at me and shouted,

    "HEY MIKA. I LOVE MIKA"

I shouted back, "I LOVE HIM TOO"

And we carried on with our hike as we were going in opposite directions:lmfao:

  2. Hi,

Anyone here a fan of Bastille? I love their music. Very upbeat and fresh. I am still getting into their latest album, but I had Bad Blood on repeat for years.

Finally! They will be in South Africa soon (October), I am looking forward to it.

  3. I love James Corden.

I found him because of his carpool karaoke, which is amazing and we need to petition to get Mika on that show. WOW.

And then I watched Gavin & Stacey and realised he was in it and part of the writing team. He is really funny and seems like a nice guy.

Got a personal message from Tom Hiddleston today :fisch:

Sadly it was a bulk mailing he did as a Unicef ambassador

    Hahahaha :lmfao:

Have any of you seen High Rise? (Or read it or listened to it?)

If not, do yourself a favour and listen to the book, it's narrated by Tom Hiddleston, and the movie stars him as well. It's so good. A bit hectic, so check the age restriction if you are under 16.

    I wrote about it here

  5. Wow, guys!

10 whole years! I completely remember our baby photo poster when we celebrated our one year anniversary!!

I am truly in shock that is has been that long.

I would love to join, but as most of you know, I am all the way from South Africa, so about 10 - 15 hours of flying time away depending on the location you choose, plus I spent all my savings going to see him in Lake Como (for the first time, absolutely worth it).

I will celebrate by myself and hopefully win an online competition if it is open to me!

    Yay!

  6. I am still reminiscing about this beautiful show.

It was wonderful to meet you too, Victimofthetimes!

Finally I came back from Milan and can write sth! :)

So so that was my first gig in Italy and i was excited so much! First time in Italy, Mika's gig with someone from my city for the first time and it was super cool!

So first of all i want to say that im totally in love with Como. Such a beautiful city.

I arrived to Villa Erba at 8am. I was no 79. I was in shock but later i reminded myself that I'm in Italy haha :). Queuing was soo exhausting especially in the second half of the day. But we had to battle with sun! We also did some sightseeing in Cernobbio. Such a nice city! Im sorry i've already fell in love with Italy.

So i was standing in the second row in the middle. Perfect view because i'm tall haha :) And the location...Villa Erba is just..wow, im speechless.

And the gig was also amazing. So much fun and the opening...step with me was perfect. After all i still had in my head Joe's part( 3 steps,3 steps), I love her so much! And blame it on the girls...I was surprised!  :naughty:

But for me the most important songa are Underwater and Happy Ending. And... Underwater without mic....it was magical....his voice was so smooth.I was astonished. About Happy Ending, long part with "A little bit of love", i was over the moon cause it's my fav part of this song. :fangurl:

And after the gig...Me and my friend won m&g so i didn't know what to do with myself because of my happiness! It was really special. Villa Erba inside is stunning and Mika talking about his new Tv show too...He was talking in English and i'm very thankful(im sure not just me) that he decided to talk in English

Mika didn't stay long cause he was exhausted and that was understandable. I met MikaFreaka from South Africa and she's so nice! :) I also meet again girls from Prague and Paris (Andrieja,Saskia and Nina) and some others. It was super cool to meet you again  What could i say more...step 4: this tour is over.  :bye:

  7. I just posted this in the "Before" thread so am copying it here:

    Thank you MFC!

The concert was amazing. Definitely worth the 16 hours of travelling I had to do to get there! I had nothing but DVDs to compare it to and the DVDs does not do it justice.

And WOW, meeting him absolutely blew my mind and definitely justified my years of fandom. He is a wonderful person.

Meeting other fans was unreal. You are all so lovely and it was great to finally see people who felt the same way I did. Where I am from, the dialogue goes like this:

Me: I am finally going to see Mika!!!

    Everyone: Who?

    Me: Mika, the singer!

    Everyone: Who?

Me: Relax, take it eeeeasy? I could be Brown, I could be blue?

Everyone: Oooooh.... He hasn't made music since then hey?

    *facepalm and exits conversation*

Anyway, sorry for waffling. Seems the excitement hasn't left me.

Ps. Even though his stage jokes were in Italian, it seemed pretty funny. Hahahaha

Thank you all. I am doing this from my phone, so will upload photos etc when I find a real computer.

  9. ******IMPORTANT NOTE********

Please don't forget that, in order to be eligible for the 'Meet Mika in Cernobbio' contest, you have to send an email as explained in detail on the front page.

It is not enough to just put your name on the RSVP list, you MUST send the email, so that we have your phone number.

    Thank you.

And remember that it's just ONE entry per person, you can just send an email ONCE.

    Hi Marie,

Since I don't have a Italian phone number, does that mean I can not win? I am available through email as my hotel has wifi and I will be checking it regularly.

I am not sure where I can even buy a SIM card here.

I can get my hotels number if that helps?

I have already entered and so has my husband.

  11. Hi!!! I'm back from my little trip in Carcassonne and Sollies.

    I'll explain you the projet.

I had the Idea about two weeks before the show actually. It was a bit complicated to plan it all, what's with determining which colour should go on which seat but I managed it in the end. We needed more than 2000 sheets of papeer to make it work and had to print the instructions on every single one of them (I had some help from a few friends for that). We asked for a few of us to get it early so we could set it all up and let me tell you it was stressfull to the very last minute (we had one row wrong as well, nearly pulled my hair out) but the crowd was really into it and was perfect for the test before the show and the moment of the surprise! We were relieved because it was the one thing we had absolutely no control ever!

Anyway it turned out great and he loved sooooo mission accomplished! :hi5:

And thanks to Eriko for sharing my pics  :thumb_yello:

    I adore it!

    Well done!

  12. Usually there's a merch stand inside, which is open before and after the show.

Hotels usually don't have curfews, just some hostels or small  b&b do.

Fantastic. Maybe the Sinfonia Pop will be on sale.

We are staying at a small BnB so there is a chance of a curfew, and they haven't replied to me, so I am just going to pitch up and hope and pray they let me in in the wee hours of the morning!

  13. The venue is in a beautiful park of an historical Villa near the lake.

Fans queing and attending there should be respectful of the meadows...

I hope that it is clear for all that Cernobbio is not Como, it is another small city of the Como lake.

Como is easy to reach... the main train station is Como San Giovanni.

Public transports from Como to Cernobbio:

You can reach Cernobbio from Como also by boat

    Thanks so much Allegra!

I have booked accommodation in Cernobbio, but we are arriving in Como so the public transport links will be useful!

    The venue looks BEAUTIFUL
