    Haven't read through this thread and want to read all the reports, but just to say I thought this concert was utterly amazing! I fussed beforehand about being on the balcony but turned out lucky because the view was brilliant - and the acoustics, oh my god. I know it sounds really stupid to say, but I although I knew Mika was a trained singer, I hadn't truly realised how good he is, and this venue brought that out so well! I still have notes from 'Over My Shoulder' in my mind...

     

    And yes, please do a gig report LM because you write beautifully and help people who weren't there to feel what it was like.

    Briefly, had no ways to contact anyone as had no numbers and thought I knew where I was going, but I didn't.... So saw streets of Amsterdam, but not MFC!

    'Grace Kelly' star Mika says he "made a lot of mistakes" with relationships when he was younger and has only ever dated one person.

     

     

    Mika has a "secret life" as a teenager with inappropriate "make-believe" relationships.

    The 'Grace Kelly' singer - who refuses to comment on speculation he is gay and says he has only ever been in one relationship -admits he was sexualityconfused as a teenager and "made a lot of mistakes".

    He said magazine: "With my teenage years there was a lot of 'Anything is possible. I can try anything.' I was quite shy but there was a bit of a secret life going on. I made a lot of mistakes.

    "There was a lot of very harsh rejection as well in relationships. Or make-believe relationships that had developed in my head. I wasn't a crazy promiscuous f**k-up, but I was doing things I shouldn't have been doing, just like any teenager."

    "I was thinking, 'Who am I? And what sort of grown-up do I want to be what kind of person do my parents expect me to be? Who should I sleep with and why should I sleep with those people?' "

    The 'Lollipop' star - who was born in Lebanon but raised in London from the age of nine - also admitted he has a "fear" of money because of hardship suffered by his family.

    He added to The Observer Music Monthly magazine: "Because of the moving around, because of the having a lot and then having nothing and then having a little bit and then having nothing, I developed this real fear of money.

    "I have a fear of decadence when it comes to creative things, because I think that things that are really good should never cost a lot of money.

    "I really didn't want the ofice life of my father. I didn't want to be rich."

    Hmmm no, but will see if my friend has... good thinking!

    I have to leave house at 4.15 Tues, bleeugh, but so worth it. Plus a day in Amsterdam too!

    I could sign your full statement, too. Well said!

     

    Mika or anyone else is in no way obliged to reveal if they are gay or not. Of course we are curious, but I don't think there are many people at MFC that can't live without knowing it about Mika. I hope so. :blink:

     

    The press on the other hand can't live without knowing, can they? I think it's only sad. It shows how difficult it is for them to find interesting things to write about. :thumbdown:

     

    It is sad. But like it or not, sex is what sells the papers and articles so... Its probably more sellable to be a bit mysterious about it rather than straightforward so Mika's probably not as reluctant to have it talked about as is sometimes said.

    But I think for me, just because he's a musician doesn't mean we have any right to know about his private life, and if that's the point he's making then ABSOLUTELY!! Has always amazed me that people can think they have the right to know everything about artists - would they ask their doctor or dentist about their sexuality?
