OKAY I FINISHED READING EVERY WORD. oh my goodness, the beach venue sounds cool! and i love the part you talk about the types of people who go to a MGMT gig your descriptions on SB and The Handshake live gave me goosebumps... and yeah, i've seen youtube which they played Kids in a really crappy way and you know what, i'm really glad that i've known MGMT fans like you girls- someone who really appreciate the music itself and doesn't go over-fangirlish. when i first encounter MGMT during the OS era, i didn't fall in love with the band kinda because i thought they were too much of druggies and all people who went to their gigs seemed heavy stoners. i was not appealed to this idea:boxed: but now of course the interviews and the 2nd album have already said all. i'm now dying to see them live! i really am. btw, your report/blog post is so beautifully written!! what are you studying in college? I've just got a bit curious:biggrin2:

oh yeah actually i'm still not a fan of the glasses... but his suit looks weirdly great!!! and if my memory's correct, andrew went down the stage BAREFOOT and gave flowers to the front row audience... how much i wish i were there!! you know what i was in fact a bit disappointed by myself for being TOO calm i've met him twice. for the first time, i gave a magazine to him to sign and the interesting thing was, he had never got that mag!! he was very curious about how he looks like inside so he flipped through MY mag:mf_rosetinted: we talked about some of the pictures and he seemed to be quite happy with the photoshoot that he kept saying "good" to his own pics as for the second time, i didn't manage to talk to him. but we had a picture together... it was the best night ever ohhhhhh there's a HUGE version???! i wanna read it!! hahaha i know all of them are taken. it's just sad that all men i fall for are wither gay or taken i wonder if this sort of VIP section is there for every gig in the US/Europe?? Coz i've never come across one in Hong Kong... is it fronter than front row or what?? and it's so sweet of you girls to make that card and got everyone signed!!!!!! no wonder he felt so flattered

(okay i guess i really should start one myself:aah:) was so freaked out when i first read that, and now when i read your words i'm feeling amazed again! this is just sooooo sweet! you're lucky dear but you didn't have a tix? were you going to see them?? i still don't think i can utter a word in front of them now:teehee: but anyway, when i actually saw mika for those two times, i didn't feel nervous at all!!!! this's so weird, you know, i thought i would CRY or at least BLUSH like having fever !!!!!!! but i just chatted with him in such a comfortable way in the end... good thing right? erm, i do know that MGMT would invite fans to get on the tour bus!!! those girls would hang around with them for quite a while before the show...... to be frank i personally dun find this problematic or annoying... maybe it's just a kind of M&G? refering to the dressing stuff you were discussing, i agree that mika's clothing is getting more and more normal noaways. i ain't appeal to the idea that he wears JACKETS in gigs all the time. miss the braces...... as for MGMT, i think they are giving it a good balance!! at length the guys' outfits give you a surprise, like the 2010 Glasto one andrew wore.... i love love it and andrew said he still wears headband at nude beaches

(after all, andrew wants bad karma on VM ) but i did see them appearing on mag interview together before and they mention each other quite often! and by posh what do you mean?? i just very often like to think that mika and mgmt share some weird dressing styles

yeah musicians would only consider touring Asia when they are big enough in the US/Europe. why do i love foreign music all the time??? VW & MGMT are good friends. i guess this adds one more reason for you to go to their gig apart from great lives?

i know what you mean! and i'm kind of this type of person too-- or put it this way, i think everyone has the moments at which you wanna keep something just to yourself. and from a musician's point of view, having people study your works seriously is always something great coz it means you really have some influence over the others. andrew looks like an angel in that interview!!! that vid is so beautifully filmed. the shots and the environment were simply perfect. love always remains... the sun and the ocean are always there suddenly i tryna picture what they'll be like when they become middle-aged men...

yep you're right!!! i really hope i can go to their gig now:wub2: hahaha sometimes i THINK i get the lyrics but maybe actually i don't their lyrics are comprehensible when you read the lines seperately... but when the lines come together as a song, i don't think many people on earth know what they're actually refering to. anyway, i always think i'm over-interpreting their stuffs coz they like to complain people for being too serious don't they?? i still can't associate them with charify stuffs at the moment but well, i know they are generous good guys! but again you are right... they really have moved on fast, both music- and personality-wise. if you watch their interviews you can they're much less childish than before (i know this sounds silly but they look like real men now ) oh btw did andrew say his castle dream is no longer here now????!! this upset me a little bit............... actually some of their old college performance are really.... crappy this kinda proves what we have said about their great evolvement though. as for the quiting part, i totally share your worreis!!!!!! that's why i'm so so so eager to go to their gig!!! who knows when the next time will be??? and just read the Wesleyan interview again.... jesusssss andrew's echoing us!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hope as grown-ups they've given up this thought now.... but i really love Beno's answer on money and fame. it's true!

so yeah... i'll probably go see them in Spain/Portugal but i actually don't know any MGMT fans apart from you guys here... so, is going to a MGMT gig alone a good idea?? they really are!!! it sometimes annoys me a little when i still see a lot of drug-related comments under thier vids on youtube. i mean, yes, most probably they still take drugs but they are seriously more than a bunch of druggies fooling around. when people say "OMG this makes me laugh so hard. they must be stoned", i'll go "come on, one doesn't need to be stoned to be interesting. these guys know what real humour is." and andrew's lyrics is amazing. he's such a good lyricist yup i've been waiting for that vid for ages!!!!!!

(btw may i ask where you are from?? it isn't shown under your name ) and "sock"... i guess you were refering to a "sleeping bag"? dunno if i'm right though as for the Congratulations vid, to be frank i was a bit disappointed when i FIRST saw it. it's not filled up with a lot of creative stuffs like FD or It's Working-- seemingly it's not as fun as those. but then when i watched it for the second time, i realised how beautiful the whole thing actually is! and i love how you can still find a trace of freakiness in such a beautiful vid and i agree with you... the vid is different from what i have been imagining ever since i heard the song. i NEVER have this kind of sad feeling when i listen to it!! on the contrary the scenes in my mind are all lovely peaceful... esp for the lines "i lay down the quilt upon the lawn...." and i think this's good coz it really offers something that is not in the song and adds to the atmosphere i've been pondering over the meaning of this vid for a while. perhaps the creature represents their "old good music" like Kids & Time To Pretend?? they love these songs like they care about the dying camel. but in the end they just let it go and DISSOLVE. they applause for what they've achieved with this old goodies and they are ready for a new off-mainstream journey okay i' know i'm over-interpreting this
