1. Okay, this was my first MIkagig in France, and it's also the first time I write a report, so be kind. :wink2:

I arrived at the venue about 4 pm. Unfortunately I didn't meet any other MFClers, but I thought you guys were long up front :wink2: This was the first time I ever went to a gig where someone collapsed during the cueing, so that was a good start. I was about forth/fith row on the right. Of course the caravanthingy where all the action happened was on the left side   The gig was really good, great audience and Mika seemed to have a really good time. He danced a lot, talked a lot. Unfortunately my french is very basic so I only understood roughy what he was talking about. Like macboll said, about the venue and it being sunday and what sundays meant for him as a child in france (i think. I understood something about a weird TVshow being mentioned). There where a lot od things being thrown on stage and he picked a few of them up and fooled around with them and at one point he collected some of the devil's hornes that people in the front row had and put them on the bands heads. Of course the stage show was, as always fantastic. The costume changes were a bit overdone I thought (once he put on a jacket for the last ten seconds of a song and at the start if the next song it was gone again) but I loved the huge discoball and his dance at the beginig of Elle me dit :D

Setlist as far as I remember (not in that order):

    No place in heaven

    Grace Kelly

    Relax

Boom Boom Boom (he forgot the lyrics halfway through :naughty: )

    Elle me dit

    Billy brown

    We Are golden

    L'Amour fait tous qu'il veut

    Happy ending

    Love today

    Lollipop

    Good Wife

    Promiseland

    Talk about you

    Underwater

    Last Party

    Good Guys

Staring at the sun (Half in french, half english)

    J'ai pas envie

    Origin of love

In spite of him seeming to really enjoying the gig there was only one encore (not sure if this is normal these day, my first Mikagig in a long time) but all in all he played for almost two hours so it was plenty :)

  2. It is right in the centre of the city, just aside Lille Flandres station and close to Euralille shopping mall. Let me know if you need more info :wink2:

Thank you, at least I know where to look now. Now I'm not sure it's on google ;-) I guess I'll just come early and look around. I also read there is a tourist info at the station, so maybe they can tell me if I can't find it.

  3. URGENT CALL FROM OLD MFCER !!

    Hey there guys !

Ok, it's been a very long time since I haven't been here but this is a very urgent situation and I immediately thought of you guys to help!

So I am currently at university right now, and next year we have a compulsory exchange year abroad. This year, my school opened the posssiblity for us to go for the very first time at the university of Western Australia in Perth and I'm thinking of going there. All I know is that it's a great university but I have no idea how the campus is or what subjects are really cool there, or even if Perth and its areas are really nice to explore for a year.

If you have been at this university or know somebody who was, I would be more than delighted if you could give me some info! Even if you have a special input to give about Perth, that'd be terrific as well !!

Thank you very very very much, you'd be saving my life if you could answer this :huglove::huglove:

Been to Perth, for like four days because I ran out of time, but it's really lovely and everyone I know who has stayed there longer loves the place.

I've seen the Uni there, looks very nice but of course I haven't been inside. If Oakie Doakie lives in Perth surely she can tell you more.

  4. Crowded? :lmfao: Things sure have changed around here if this is crowded.

While you're crossing your fingers, can you cross everything else too? If we all cross everything, that may give us a fighting chance at some point of him visiting here at least once more in my lifetime...maybe. :sneaky2:

well if you compare it to last summer. I could not be here for weeks without missing more than two or three posts :mf_rosetinted:

I can try and cross everything I have and honestly I think everyone wants to come back to Australia once they've been here (at least everyone I know, I sure do). A petition might help though :naughty:

  5. Wow, what happened? This place is crowded suddnely :thumb_yello:

@Chickadee: I think the time we heard about the new band was like four, five months ago, I guess. Before he started playing festivals. I think he changed them all at once. I miss them, but the new guys are really good as well.

Stardust is soo lovely accoustic. I wish he'd put that one the deluxe edit, too, although I really like the album version. :wub2:

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys that Mika comes to Oz soon.

  6. First of all I have to say it was really great to meet all you guys (again). Thanks to the MFC even queueing in the cold isn't too bad:cheerful_h4h:

At first we were at the wrong door but eventually we found the right one :naughty: I think we had really nice security guys and they let us into some kind of lobby early because it was so cold.

Inside the venue, like Tina said, it was very hot though. I think we were all pretty much soaked afterwards :naughty: I made it to the front row, right next to mellody :hi5: The stage was quite small, in the beginning it looked like there was no space for people at all. After the DJ stuff was gone it got a little better but it was still tiny.

The gig was absolutely amazing. I don't know what else to say. I had so much fun and the whole glow-stick-heart-thing worked out brilliantly. Of course people started waving them too early, but doesn't really matter. Unfortunately I didn't get a good picture but it looked absolutely stunning :thumb_yello:

After the gig we tried to stay in the (warm) venue for as long as we could and then went out and waited for MIKA. He was really nice and it was quite funny when he mentioned he is going to change the setlist and everyone started asking him to play this and that song at this and that gig. I'm not sure he remembers any of it :naughty: he also seemed to appreciate our little surprise with the hearts.

Lovely, lovely day. I wish I could have every tuesday like this :biggrin2:

  7. Oh that sucks! I'd never get to the bank if that was the opening times here...

For years I thought banks were open from 9am till 5pm cause that's the time the main bank I use is open and also because when my dad worked in a bank he wasn't home till after 5... I then found out this year that they close at 4 four days a week and have done so for close to 30 years

I tend to use internet banking except sometimes there are things I need to do at the bank...

They close at 4  please don't let that be my bank. I still have to close my account :fisch: but 4pm means I have get up at 6am to call them:aah:

here is few songs from here. The first one is really popular one. And that second one is really beautiful. :wub2: I sang it at my cousin's wedding.

These bands are really famous and popular here. :teehee:

The first one sounds good, no idea what he's talking about but ist sounds good:naughty: I didn't think finnish would work that well in rap:blush-anim-cl:

I love the second one. It's really beautiful. And in the last one i just love the way he says the rr:blush-anim-cl: rrrrrrrrrrr :wub2: I can't even do that

  9. And now it appears TOOL will be released on 12/10 in Oz as well.

Any ideas why they keep pushing it back? We were supposed to get it this weekend, same as France and now it's the 5th :aah:

    That sucks!

When I went to Europe earlier in the year, I had a cold and was losing my voice for most of the trip. It only seemed to improve in the last week I guess.

    So how was everyone's weekend?

I went to a Hanson concert... no biggie... But I was all :aah::fangurl::arf2::woot_jump::bow::groovy:

And when I saw Isaac undo some of the buttons on his shirt, I was all :das::drool::swoon::stretcher:

oh well, fortunately it's still the last bit of summer here, so I hope it stays nice and warm a little longer and I'm through it soon.

Weekend was very nice, I met most of my friends again:biggrin2:

  10. oh then, moi mitä kuuluu, joo mulla on tylsää ku puhun suomee :mf_rosetinted:

:lmfao: there you go, some finnish :mf_rosetinted::mf_rosetinted:

Hi, how are you, something something is something something I speak finnish? Oh dear I forgot so much already :blush-anim-cl:

I can't play most of you're videos unfortunately (not available in your country bla bla bla) but I think I've heard of Elokuu before, somwhere rings a bell.

  11. I liked it :das:

Anapher, me and Bec went to KL last year, but we did't do all that much that I can recommend. You should probably check out the shopping centre with the rollercoaster in it. And Batu caves are worth a visit.

There's a shopping center with a rollercoaster? Oh man why didn't I read that earlier  Yeah the Batu caves are pretty amazing, I've been there. All in all I can't complain (except I got a cold AND sunburnt  ), I walked around the city a lot and in the end I almost al the time knew where I was :naughty:. It's a facinating place.

  12. True true, though one of the guys that Derek works with suggested that we go somewhere like Thailand (his gf works in a travel agency so that helps too :naughty:). Derek's not overly keen on getting on a plane and when I told him that a passport costs about $300 to get he said "Gee that's expensive". He obviously hasn't seen how much flights and accomodation costs then :teehee:

300$ for a passport  Accomondation shouldn't be too bad though. I just booked for a week in Malaysia and that was about as much as I payed for three days in Brisbane.

So this is my last day in Oz. One day I'll come back :crossed:
