  1. Wow, Sliimy seems to polarize people much the same way Mika does. Here at Chez Mici, we love Sliimy and listen to his CD almost as much as we listen to Mika's collection. Yep, there's a lot of similarities between the 2 boys but Sliimy's album is a great piece of pop. That's all it is. Pop. It's fun to sing along to, it's catchy, it's melodic. I've seen a few Sliimy interviews and I dont see the attitude or the ego that has been mentioned. I've probably missed it, but I think he comes across as sweet and affable. And he is only very young! If I blow the cobwebs off my memory, I recall being quite cocky at age 21!! Either way, we love Sliimy as a stand alone artist, not because he sounds like Mika or looks like Mika or whatever. Listen to Waiting For. The boy can sing!!
  2. Hey, there's 2 Mici's here! Cool. I'm the Other Mici... the longwinded Mici, the 'what the hell does succinct mean' Mici. I love the Rain video but I dont think it's going to win him any new fans... sorry... I love the vid because it has Mika and his tummy and Rudy the Naked Man in it. I love the vid because I love this song and I would probably gush at anything Mika chose to put on celluloid. But honestly I think it's somewhat flawed. For starters I dont particularly like the Wood Nymph costumes. It doesn't matter how skinny you are, lycra is not your friend. Ditch the lycra. I'm quite fond of the antler creatures but what is with the circus runaways? You're suppose to run away TO the circus, not have the circus run after you. One wise soul here mentioned the vid was a throwback to the 80's and I agree. It's 80's costuming. Sorry Mrs Penniman... Now if it had been me, I would have fitted them into Orc costumes. Happy Orcs. That could work. Might have made Mika run faster too. Lord, that running was funny. Whoever came up with the Cptn Jack Sparrow comment was so spot on. My Flossie aged 9, thought Mika's rather enthusiastic dancing at the beginning was a rain dance. That's her fave bit. My fave bits are the awkward, gangly 'Crikey, this is the 90th time I've run up this bloody hill' bits. Go Jack Sparrow, go.
  3. Ah! A Wonka after my own heart. I love a real mystery and that is a question I too have been pondering of late. However, to be fair there has been evidence of tighty whitey's recently. But why???? What happened to the grey? Is white the new grey?
  4. OH!! Cool!! This site is a bit addictive isn't it? These little yellow blokes are a bit addictive Thanks so much for the reply! cheers mici
  5. Hi, I do actually answer to Flossie! We all do. Even the critters. The biggest Flossie will be 10 years old the Sunday after Mika's gig. Bit young I know, but hey, I was 11 when I nicked off school to see Adam and the Ants in complete war paint and costume.:aah: and what a better first gig could you hope for??! So you dont think DS will want to go? Shame, but I know what you mean about mum acting like a goon. My friends think I've regressed back to a 16 yo but hey, I haven't been this excited about an album release or a tour in YEARS! Are you a Sydneysider or are you like us and intending to spend your whole tax return on flights, tix, hotels etc?? Thanks so much for replying. I popped into the Aussie site last night and said hi and will go back in there soon cheers mici
  6. Hello from Mici in Melbourne, Australia. I've been a fan of Mika since Grace Kelly saturated our airways and have been lurking here for a couple of weeks. With the announcement of the Sydney gig I thought it time to slink out of the closet. Ta ta closet. I am mum to Flossies, young 'uns, who are also Mika Mad. I did the right thing with the first Flossie and played her the Wiggles non stop but discovered to my horror that there is a finite number of times you can listen to Hot Potato. By the time the littlest Flossie arrived, it was a case of stuff it, come listen with mummy to Mika, Sliimy, Muse, etc etc. She's one Funky Flossie and still in nappies. I did learn that there appears to be a finite number of times you can listen to Lollypop back to back, non stop in one session. We made it to 18 times a fortnight ago. Yes, slightly less sane as a result but it's OK, Songs of Sorrow arrived that very afternoon and our playlist expanded. Life saver, phew! However, now the littlest Flossie wont eat her fish fingers after many listens to Lady Jayne. Thanks Mika... I'm am flying the biggest Flossie up to Sydney in November for her birthday to see Mika. I'm literally bouncing around just at the thought of it!!! OK, maybe I will catch up with other Aussie fans in Sydney soon. Cheers Mici
