  1. When I went to Brussels, I just took the normal train from Amsterdam to Brussels. It doesn't take that much longer and it's half the price. I know they were talking about cancelling it though, so not sure if it's still running then.

thanks for the tip ... looked it up and you can still go by normal train, but it takes several changes and a lot more time, so that's not really an option, as I still have to take another train to go to Brussels, which takes me some extra 45 minutes

  3. I would like to go too. Who is goning from Belgium?

Hi, I would love to, but don't know yet how to organise it ... I could go with the train (Thalys) but it's expensive. I could go by car, but don't really dare ... I could go with my family, but then the kids have to miss a day at school ... so a lot of doubts (as always, I'm a big doubter ;-) )

  4. You will need to be at Victoria at 7am, to check in (veteran Eurolines traveller :wink2:).The first tube trains from around Camden are about 5.45am, so I don't know what your plan is between the end of the gig and then would be.

sleep in the hotel ... luckily you're telling me that I have to check in 1 hour in advance ... that makes the whole trip hard (also for the trip from Brussels to London)

sigh, I will have to cancel these "dreams", I guess

  5. Not going to Manchester anymore ? :0 Or are you going to both ?

I'm still... thinking about London or Manchester... I'd travel alone which partly explains why I'm hesitating to ;')

And I don't know what to expect from a London gig... I'm afraid it's gonna be crazy after the gig, like it was in Brussels earlier this month..

    Huhuhu~

    In fact it's a long story ...

After I was considering to go to Manchester I won tickets for Paris which was just wonderful ... so in the beginning I thought 'I'll drop England' ... but as time goes by the desire to go is coming up again ... what makes me doubting are the security and cost issues ... and the fact that it's my son's birthday on 14 december ... well, he'll only be 2 years old, so he will not mind that much ... but I would miss him on that day. So, the chance that I go to Manchester is quite small.

I could go to London for 22 Euro (return ticket) with the Eurolines bus, but that means that I have to take the bus back at 8 AM. There is a hotel next to the venue (so, no, I would NOT stay outside the venue for the night), which means that I have to get from there to victoria station early in the morning.

Anyway, the hotel is the biggest cost ... I guess that I will be doubting until the last minute ;-)

  6. Hi,

could anyone living in London tell me if there are already some people around taking the tube at 7 AM on a friday morning? I am considering taking a EuroLines bus to come to London for this gig, but the coach leaves at 8 AM in Victoria station and I am a bit scared of taking the tube from the venue to the station in the early morning ...

    Thx

  7. This is the first time I am writing an official report ... so forgive me if it's not so good ...

I participated in that competition on Facebook where you could win tickets for Paris.

On Sunday afternoon my sister in law called me and asked whether I had checked FB already ... I won a pair of tickets for the show on Tuesday!

Monday afternoon I received an e-mail from the promoter saying that I won and that we would receive wristbands for a meet & greet after the show .... waaaaaawww, I really went crazy when I read that!

So, Tuesday morning I went to the shop to buy some good Belgian beer and then we drove to Paris by car (my sister in law drove, I wouldn't dare ;-) ).

When we arrived there around 4 PM we went to the box office to get our tickets. We were a little disappointed when they told us that we had to come back at 7:30 PM to get them ... like this we had no chance to queue, as we had to get the tickets first.

We went eating and returned to the venue a little before 7 PM. The doors opened around 7:25 and we got our tickets AND wristbands. By the time that we had our tickets and everything was arranged there was no more chance to get in one of the front rows, but there were boxes ("loge") at both sides of the venue which were a bit higher and where we could see the stage very well, so we chose that.

Mika started around 9 PM, playing all his older hits (Grace Kelly, Relax, Love Today ...), as well as many new songs (Stardust, The Origin of Love, Heroes, Celebrate ...). It was a real amazing atmosphere, the crowd was really going mad. I felt a bit sorry that I wasn't in it, but as it was very hot in there, it was maybe better, because I felt a little dizzy and maybe this would have been worse if I was IN the crowd.

When the show was finished we had to wait inside the venue. There were about 20 people who had a wristband. I think that we waited for almost an hour and then we were asked to come backstage. We heard him laughing already before we could see him ;-) and then he was there: friendly and nice like always, very relaxed and he took a lot of time to say hello to everyone, have a little chat, sign all kind of stuff and to take pictures. Every time I see Mika after a show (ok, this was the first "official" Meet & Greet I had, but I saw him outside the venue's before) I think by myself that it is so very unique that such a great star takes so much time for his fans, is so polite and respectful. I appreciate him so much for that! Well, I gave him the beer I brought and he seemed to be honestly happy with it "ah, the good stuff" he said ;-) ... in return, I got a picture of him with me and a signature on a t-shirt ...

I am still very impressed ... and will never forget that evening :-)

  8. There are a few reasonably priced hotels around the venue. I posted links a few pages back:thumb_yello:

    strange, I don't find your links ...

I found Days Hotel in Weston Building, Sackville Street, that should be rather close. And I found real cheap flights from Belgium with Ryanair ... now I only have to find the guts ;-)
