  1. Thanks! Yay! I'm super excited now! I get outta school just in time for me to watch it :naughty:

I think where you are it's about 4 or 5 hours behind the UK. It's nearly 1am here in Ireland (Wednesday morning).

  2. Yeah, my question never showed up, and I sent it last Friday. Wonder if it's too late to resubmit. In any event, I hope this webchat thing works out.

I don't think it's too late. I say they'll stop taking questions sometime tomorrow morning (UK time).

  3. Thanks for the info. I don't know how we'd get permission to form a street team, but most of those ideas we could do anyway. I think a good tool to use would be the Social Networking sites. If people have a myspace page then maybe a blog about Mika's album might gain some interest. A similar thing with Facebook. Chatting with people on chat sites might also help, if people use those sites.

Another idea I thought of. If anyone is having a party for Christmas or a birthday, they could make it a MIKA PARTY. Get people to come in fancy dress and of course, play Mika's music. Serve diet coke and pizza, also lollipops. You get the idea. Mika is not just a musician, there is a whole Mikaworld that goes with his music. This could also make people look at Mika in a whole new light.

Those are great ideas, Marilyn. :thumb_yello:

  4. About the Street Teaming Blossom? Where and when do we do that? How exactly does it work?

This is how it works: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_team

When I joined the Depeche Mode street team I actually set up a Street Team page for Ireland via Facebook that anyone could join.

I wish I knew of someone we could write to to get clearance for doing this. In the past I've usually seen messages sent via MySpace bulletins etc with an address to contact.

This is only a rough idea of a possible promotional idea.

  5. I wish your sentence ended denying him a #1 single but it is fully unrealistic...

I think the single will do better in Europe, though.

Is is being played on the radio in the UK?

On MTV I only saw it once. Robbie, on the other hand already has a second video out, 2 weeks after the release of his album...

    Completely different tactics there...

I've seen the 'Rain' a few times on TV but mainly on the '4Music' charts.

  6. Great news!:thumb_yello:

That means it's only his core fans he could rely on... I hope it will all change with Rain

    Gaga's new single, Bad Romance..:wink2:

..and it will go to No1 I have no doubt about that..

There's a possibility the 'X Factor' finalists will hold on to the #1 spot for a 2nd week running, denying her a #1 single.

  7. I already mentioned this in the 'TBWKTM album sales' thread but I'll post it here - I just thought of the idea of 'street teaming'. I'm familiar with it as Depeche Mode, IAMX and Patrick Wolf all have fans who do it.

For those unfamiliar with the concept I think all you have to do is produce items that you believe will best help generate sales of the album (i.e. flyers, posters etc.). I think it is a good way of getting people more interested in a particular artist or group and fans all over the world can do it.

    What do you think?

  9. (About the people waving)

"And they're very drunk! Yeah you're drunk! S'all right, I intend to join you, don't worry!"

"Oh yeah we had a little bit of a... Kind of gang-rape thing!"

(He was asked to take Lily's place in a show or something)

"Oh, was it LILY'S place? Ah..! No, I told them to f*** off!

"That's what Jensen said when I did his show. He said: "It's Holland you can say F***!"

    "All right, easy tiger."

    "Darling!"

*to a random guy* "... You look like Robbie Williams! "

I like the end bit the best... :aah:

  10. New favourite interview.

"I love the fact that in, in uh... Like Eastern Europe, in Scandinavia it's boys name, and in Japan it's a girls name. Yeah, I'm a Lebanese mutt so that doesn't really make sense. Gum in my mouth... Take that out..."

"How to SCREW UP an interview! God, throw pieces of gum at the camera man! "

"Don't zoom in on my boogers!. It's not nice. Yeah, leave my Lily Allens alone. "

Personally, I just like the fact that he has the guts to spit out his gum, put it back in his mouth, spit it out AGAIN into a piece of paper then THROW it at the camera guy. :roftl:

Dammit, my internet's gonna die in a minute. I'll have to post the rest tommorow morning...

I got the interview from here: http://www.mikafanclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20837
