Okay so an update on the music section: I had an idea that instead of keeping the radio play part and musical parts separate, we should maybe use all of Mika's characters to narrate the music?

 

I don't know how to explain it

 

But basically I could write a short script and it would basically be a skit involving all of Mika's characters, and all the hk mfcers could do different parts. And the music by us would still be incorporated throughout. ^-^;

 

e.g. Drinky starts off singing the chorus of WAG and Mubbina and Astor come in asking if he's drunk, but he says he's just singing? And then he says something like "here, listen to this" and then we can put in an MFC cover of WAG. These are just ideas though~

 

Anyway you can all start submitting music-related things as soon as you want! There's no limit to submissions! It doesn't matter if it's unfinished, it doesn't matter if you make mistakes. You absolutely do NOT have to be good at music to participate! It's not the content that matters, it's the effort

 

To submit something:

- send an email to crazy_olly@hotmail.com

- make sure you include your MFC name

- attach the file(s) you are submitting! XD

 

Just remember that all submissions have to be of good quality, for example

For the patchwork

i think it would be like this:

 

the yellow part will be in PVC material,

but it could be any colour :

 

the whole patchwork includes 147 pieces

deduct 56 pieces of "MIKA"

we still need extra 91 pieces....

if we cant collect enought quantity...

i suggest just fill with plain cloth in different color,

then ask ppl sign their name/ leave a msg to Mika before the gig XDDD

 

the size of each piece is 15cm X 15cm

otherwise it would be too large for hanging on his wall

Aaaaaaah thank you so much! That makes Hong Kong (maybe? he seems to hate HK, he keeps mention Oz, Korea and Japan but not HK ) part of his tour innnnn May/June? :S That's pretty early. Less than a year from his last gig XD but maybe he's not telling the truth...

 

If he's really performing in hk in the summer that's during my GCSEs I might not be able to make it to the gig :/

I like the idea of a DVD because then we can include a play with all his characters + maybe our own music videos for his songs? like the wag contest that mikasounds did.

 

But do you think maybe that will be too much work? I'm scared we won't be able to finish everything on time...i don't know I would rather give Mika fewer things but all of them are of high quality, rather than more things but they might be more rushed. D:

last time they came to hk we hv no chance of meeting the band, they were already on the shuttle bus while we were waiting mika at the carpark *sigh*

eep I forgot to add my checklist-type-thing for the Mika CD! Soo.

 

Music

Obviously Mika likes music XD So we will be giving Mika a handmade CD complete with front and back covers, lyrics booklet etc. But it's not just any CD, we'll try to make it as unique to hong kong MFCers as possible! Anyone and everyone can participate, this is a group project! All recordings need to be of good quality because we're trying to make this as professional as possible. ^-^;

 

Title

We don't have a title right now XD does anybody have any ideas? ^-^;

 

Submissions

You can basically submit any/every type of music you want Except for copyrighted songs. Everything on this CD has to be performed by HK MFCers! Here are some ideas of what you can submit:

 

1) Covers of Mika's songs - in English or Chinese. Doesn't matter if you are playing an instrument or just singing, it doesn't matter if you sing part of a song or the whole song.

 

2) You are golden - you don't have to be musically talented! Just record yourself saying "You are golden!" or "Mika is golden!" or something like that.

 

3) 我爱你! - record yourself saying "我爱你" or "我爱米卡" or something like that. Cantonese or mandarin is fine

 

4) Audio message to Mika - I'm still not sure about the details of this section rofl

 

5) Songs inspired by or about Mika - also not sure about this section yet, because if you submit your own original material that you wrote, you might have to get it copyrighted or something? I'm not suuuuure.

 

6) Spoken parts - e.g. You can just submit yourself shouting "We are not what you think we are, we are golden, we are golden!" or you can just submit a recording of you clapping like in BIOTG or something else. This means you don't have to be good at music to submit a cover!

 

7) Radio play? - I'm not sure if this will be included on the CD :/ I called it a radio play because it won't be filmed, but just audio. XD Mika has lots of characters (the Mubbins, the Brown family, Dr. John, Lollipop Girl, Big Girl etc.) and maybe we could write a short skit based on some of his songs, and then record it? This section is just an idea so far XD

 

But yeah the whole CD is still a major work in progress !

- As MIKA is a fan of IKEA, & seems MIKA like reading books made by his fans, we're gonna combine IKEA & MIKA (turns MIKEA?)

this book will be different from the mfc year book, we'll fill it wit ANYTHING u can think of!!

3) Story Marathon

- One of us write few sentences to begin a story, then the other one continues. We prefer a silly but fun story at the end =P

4) Music sharing to mika

- share ur fave songs/ cds to mika

5) Where is MIKA?

- prepare a photo/ picture/ collage which contains mika/ or his products, it's kind of where is wally game for him!!

6) My Interpretation

- Translate 1-2 of his songs to chinese, this looks like a chinese learning column. by the time & over my shoulder seem to be better ones.

-A chinese learning corner!

7) MIKA's paper closet

- each of us pick a photo/pic of him/ anything representing him, & several pics of good outfits. then stick 'em together & make several styling suggestions.

8) Food corner

- tell mika what food he should try in hk!

9) words/ sketches/ scribbles/ drawings of whatever/ whenever comes to ur mind, which is related to/ inspired by mika

10) On MIKA's face

i do think deadlines are necessary but since we've got lotta things included in the entire project, maybe it'll be better if we separate the whole thing into several parts, & set several deadlines for those parts respectively!

I have another one to add to the list! We are hoping to get the MFC guidelines translated into the common languages of MFC, and the Chinese thread seems to be very popular these days, so can some of you get together and translate the guidelines for us please?

Yesterday I asked the Korean fans, and I already got the translated and proofread guidelines today!! So let's have some in Chinese...we might need both traditional and simplified characters? I guess for some of us non-Chinese speakers we would say Cantonese and Mandarin...it's probably completely incorrect to use those phrases now...

i noticed there aint a chinese ver of mfc guidelines today too

hmm i wanna try my best to translate it but i just need some time.

& dun worry 'bout the cantonese or mandarin will vary, most chinese speakers can read mandarin if it is written.

& i got a silly idea that turning omega to omika, we'll make a symbol for that & creare a fake ad inside the mag XD
