    Last night I heard Love Today in a Macy's commercial having to do with Valentine's Day. Toward the end of last year Popular was used in a commercial for CBS TV shows. And on the newest season of MTV's Cribs, when somebody opened their freezer and there was ice cream, a line from Ice Cream played.

    My New Year's resolution is to be more positive and go out and find my own opportunities, one start for me is that I've already written down a small business plan to sell homemade crafts. It's a small idea, still has risks too but it's the determination I have that's keeping me going.

     

    This is quite a rant too, sorry! 😅  But I hope for you too @BeccaStardust that whatever choice you make or whatever opportunity comes your way, that it works out well for you and that you won't regret it and just enjoy doing something you love!

    I've sold homemade crafts a few different times, first as a child then again later on after I had quit my retail job. I wanted to make a small business out of it then, but I eventually gave up. I started again in 2017, selling at flea markets, farmers markets and craft shows. A couple years ago when I wanted to get an online presence I tried to create a Facebook page. For some reason Facebook blocked my account before I could even make a post. I created a website, but haven't really gotten any traffic to it. Last year I created a Twitter account for my "business" and I still can't manage to get a single follower (I try using hashtags, I've recently tried tweeting  "@" people in hopes of getting noticed...nothing is working :sad:) I've tried creating a Facebook account again and it got blocked immediately after I signed up. They seem to think I'm creating a fake account. I'm requesting a review this time. This past year I had business cards at events, but I was only able to do 4 events and wind always seemed to be an issue and I'd have to tuck them away. I wasn't able to do any events during the Christmas holiday season because I can no longer afford the booth fees. I haven't bothered making anything new lately. I already have tons of products to sell and I don't have money to buy any new supplies. Like you said, it's determination that keeps me going.

    On this weeks episode (Season 3 Episode 15,  I think it was about half way into the episode) of Siesta Key on MTV (in the USA :usa: ) they played part of Stay High.  They always put a "Now Playing" box at the bottom of the screen with the artist name and song title which is nice so people will know who it was.  I was excited to hear it :yay:

    After more than a week of looking forward to seeing him on TV I didn't even get to see it when it was actually on because 15-20 minutes before he would have been on my :badword: cable went out (there is almost always some sort of issue with our cable service). I was so mad :furious::crybaby: I later watched it on the NBC website and of course still enjoyed it, but it's not the same as seeing him on TV and I wasn't able to record it like I was going to :emot-sad:

    No no no i thought maybe a website lied to you. Dont mind me, im such a doubting thomas. I wont believe its happening until Jay says "MIKA" and Mika's on my TV :blush-anim-cl:

     

    I understand you :thumb_yello: I even went back and checked the website again before posting it here thinking maybe I had imagined it or maybe it had been a mistake and his name had been removed :teehee:

    I'm really mad, like REALLY mad, he didn't say Detroit :tears:

     

    I've only been to the Detroit area for concerts, the last time was like 10 years ago :aah:

    Awesome! A fellow Rebecca - and a close(-ish) one, too! Becky's the one nickname I don't let people call me. I've been called Becca, Bec, and even Rebz. :aah: Not Becky. But Becky's a great name; it's just not for me. :thumb_yello: I went to Michigan once for vacation, and I loved it there!

     

     

     

    I actually can't stand it when people call me Rebecca, It sounds like a pretty name until people use it for me HA :aah: I've always been called Becky, so it just seems wrong to be called anything else (I've had a few nicknames, but nothing that has lasted other than sometimes getting called Bec by certain relatives). What I've always hated is when people seem to insist on calling me Rebecca. I seem to remember having teachers who would call me Rebecca even when I'd write Becky on all of my papers. They would be handing back papers and would obviously notice that it said Becky, yet still call out Rebecca for me to come get the paper :blink: I remember when I was in elementary school I considered having people call me Becca, but I changed my mind before even telling anybody about it :teehee: One thing I really don't like about the name Rebecca is when I have to sign things the "cca" ends up a total mess :blush-anim-cl:

    :bye: Reb/Rebecca...nice name :thumb_yello: I'm a Rebecca, but I've always been called Becky :biggrin2: I'm from Michigan, so yep, close to Indiana. I've only been to the Shipshewana flea market in Indiana, I haven't been there in years though...other than that I've only passed through Indiana.
