  1. There's two threads because I opened this one without knowing you should first make an event and then have the mods approve it, which will create the thread (I think it works like that). So I made this thread, and then afterwards I asked them if it would be possible to add an RSVP to this thread, but I guess it isn't. So it's all my fault, sorry :aah::doh:

Oh, I wouldn't know how to do it either :wink2:

Would be nice to meet you in Amsterdam Irene! :thumb_yello:

  2. Ooooh what a daaaay!! :wub2:

Went to the studio with Jojotje, Miek and Annemaaike.

We did not have tickets of any kind to get in...

but we knew Sylvana, Patricia and Ingrid were inside already (also without tickets)...

    so our hope was growing...

Still...we had to do a loooot of talking and 'puppyeye-ing'!

Jojotje made a very nice cake for Mika...

and we used that as reason they HAD to let us in...it worked :thumb_yello:

The cake landed on the table where mika sat at...and we ended up behind the audience!

We couldn't see the stage or the table ...

but there was a tv where we could watch the show...really annoying...

the thought of Mika being just a few meters away and you can't see him

I tried to get us a spot beside the audience but they refused...

when Mika was about to start his song I tried again...

throwing all my charmes and best puppyeyes in this time...and it worked!":biggrin2:

We were quit close now...he sang beautifully...

we sang and danced along...and he saw that...

I'm quit confident he liked us being there! :naughty:

When Mika left the stage we could have gone back to our tv to see the rest of the show...

but neither one of us felt like doing that!

So we went outside where we had a nice spot at the backentrance...

with a roof above our heads...it was cold and raining hard!

Think we had to wait for almost 1.30 for him to show up...

    not a lot of people waiting...around 16 I think...

    Soooo...there he was...goodlooking as ever...warm soft voice...very kind...he signed our cd's and stuff...

let us take our pic we wanted so badly!! :wub2:

Told Jojotje he ate her cake and loved it!

He also loved the cookies she gave him...recognized Annemaaike's jacket from the Dusseldorf gig...:wub2:

    Well...that was it...it was a short Mika-experience this time...but ooooh...it was a real 'naaaahce' one!! :fangurl:

    .

  3. First of all I want to thank DutchAnnie for taking me to this wonderful and cosy showcase! I had a lovely time in Amsterdam with you and Smokesignal :huglove:

It was a very special showcase and I'll never forget this. I loved the simplicity of the show: it was all about the music! Mika's voice sounded amazing and the interaction between Mika and the fans in front of me (Jojotje, Maaikie and Navah) was just lovely!

Before the showcase I had the hope that Mika would sing one of the songs from the album, that I never heard before. So a dream came true when he sang Kids and Step with me. The songs sounded beautiful: although I couldn't understand everything he was singing (I was in a sort of dream world, I guess)! I didn't mind listening to those songs; the album version is always different (and off topic: why the hell is the release date in the Netherlands deferred?).

I did not wait for Mika after the gig, because I had to travel back to Maastricht (I had a hearing before the Board of Examiners on Tuesday morning). I'm glad you all get the chance to meet Mika afterwards (no annoying LMFAO fans this time). In Brussels I will join you again!

    Deferred?? WHAAAAAT? Where? How?

  4. It was a great day with lovely people! :biggrin2:

I arrived after some traffics**t at the venue around 5pm by car with Jojotje Maaikie Navah and my personal friend Ilka.

Sylvana and Patricia4u were already waiting (with caaaake cause Patricia had her birthday!!)

It was a very lovely wait...on a terrace next to the door of the venue...

not a lot of people at that time...weather great...around 7 we go up to get in front of the door.

At 8.30...or was it a bit later??...we could enter...got to first row...

it was a small room...the stage was sooo low...it reached our knees...

mic right in front of our nose at 30 cm...

couldn't believe I was going to see Mika thát close :wub2:

    Ofc...he ran late...as often...:sneaky2:...but hen...aaah there he was...:blush-anim-cl:...

started with The Origin of Love...beautiful...awesome!

He said somehing like: They asked me to do a few songs but I decided to turn it into a minigig...cause then it's so much nicer for all of us!

His hair...looked...wild :teehee:...looked like it could use some shampoo...

and we were at a L'Oréal thing!!

You already know the 2 new songs we heard...couldn't exactly hear the lyrics as good as I wanted but still...

I loved it...and I thought WOW...that cd will blow me away I'm sure of that now! :blush-anim-cl:

After the gig L'Oréal gave us a little surprise...a goodybag with the single cd of Celebrate :thumb_yello:...

the gig OFC was waaaay to short...we waited outside...

didn't take long for his manager to show up...

he had us lined up...I saw Mika's mom walk to the van...and then HE came...:wub2:...

He didn't seem to have a lot of time to chat...but he did sign my new cd...and he looked at my shirt saying Nice shirt!! :fangurl:

Jojotje almost begged him to take a pic with her/us but he said:

Nooo, I can't do that...but if we can do a grouppic that will be fine!

So after he went down the line to sign the pic was taken (see few posts back)

This was my 4th time I saw a Mikagig...and I can assure you it was an amazing experience...

it was also the first time I saw him afterwards...and I am soooo happy about that...just to see him so close...

makes it so much more special...he's lovely :wub2:...he's got a warm soft voice :wub2:...

and like Rox said after her gig: I love him :wub2:

A big thanks to my lovely friends who also made this day to a wonderfull one!!

  5. OK, finally found a computer to do my report... from Washington DC:wink2:

Where should I start? After weeks of going back and forth, and getting a few no-nos, we came up with the idea of the flags. I volunteered to go get fabric and cut meters of fabric into 250 squares, my thumb still hurt.

Loved meeting everyone the night before, dinner was great.

The day of the show, I had many things to do, as we were leaving for vacation the morning right after the gig... Making suitcases, etc. Due to unfortunate last minute changes, I couldn't be with the others as early as I would (missed the soundcheck) and was practically a mess (thanks Rian for her patience and Roxy for the update)

Finally I got there, found the girls and everything was great again.

We started distributing the flags and everyone was asking us to get one. One person asked me where we got the. My answer was: I cut them myself, because I love Mika so much:thumb_yello:

Wait was not too long and to my surprise I liked the opening act. Talented girl.

    Now it was Mika's turn:wub2:

Love every second of it. Loved every song, loved the interaction with the crowd... I could not believed my eyes: he was finally there in front of me:shocked:

The time for celebrate came and everyone started waving their flags. I knew we got him when I saw his face when he finally noticed everyone waving. I was proud of our little group, I was proud of the entire crowd for getting into it. The smile on his face was a moment of pure joy.

After that, i had to leave front row because my daughter was not enjoying the blasting sound as much as I did. At firts, I was a little bummed but seeing the end of the show from afar was even greater. i could see Mika on the stage, and I could see people react to him. What a great performer:fisch:

To top everything, we met him. What I found so funny was he kept asking questions about who had the idea for everything. Told him the flags were my idea. He then said he might use it himself. Told him it was OK with me, as long as I didn,t have to cut them:blush-anim-cl: he assured me it would not be the case :wink2:

What more can I say: this night goes on my best days in my life, after my kids' birth and my wedding day:mf_rosetinted::huglove:

    :blush-anim-cl::thumb_yello:

  6. Tomorrow it's already one week ago......time flies...

I didn't make a report yet and I'm not going to bore you with a long and detailed one now :wink2:

There are simply some + and some - aspects...

+ Loved meeting my Mika friends and also some new ones! :wink2:

+ Loved the new songs :wub2:

+ Loved Mika talking in Dutch a lot :naughty:

+ Loved the energy that bursted off the stage

    BUT...what I loved most...:blush-anim-cl:

    Mika was looking really happy!!

And he was smiling, talking and laughing all the time! :teehee:

I think he is truly very very happy with what he's doing atm in music...but also in his personal life!

And thát...showed off in his performance!

    I LOVED IT!! :wub2:

Oh, right...said there were some - too

    - Hated the LMFAO fans who seriously wanted to fight with us

    - Hated to miss Mika outside after the gig :aah:
