Alvast welterusten!

You wouldn't stir it up, we were just having a discussion and basically I think you are right, it's nostalgia.
It was different, that's all. Things change all of the time don't they and people will often look back at the past with rose coloured glasses.
Also, the MFC and the whole experience is different for different people so I hope you are enjoying your experience. Maybe in 2013 you'll be harking back to the good old days of 2010.
i'm enjoying my experience very much

Everyone is welcome!
When people talk about how they used to feel on MFC or how they do now and if there is a difference or not, this can't but be a very subjective matter depending on the person's very own perception and experiences. Nobody should let that affect or lessen the fun of being here. It's different for everyone.
oh, i didn't mean anything bad by the nostalgia thing:teehee: i liked reading how people' experiences were back then:teehee:
edit: just wanted to make the difference between nostalgia and still liking it now (but differently) and peeps who say it used to be better and find that nowadays it sucks (don't know how to put that in a nicer word, english isn't my mother tongue so forgive me if i sometimes don't make sense )

Interesting point! Someone else asked me about this and we were talking about it here http://www.mikafanclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21186&page=150 (From post 1797))
Come and tell us what you think!
just checked the link out , it seems they've already moved on from this and i'm not gonna stir it up, escpecially cause it seems different,
it seems to me that they talk more about a nostalgia to the beginning, without saying it's no good anymore now,
hmm, don't know if i'm making sence now:aah:

It's a print resolution. So to acheive 300 dpi, it depends on how large your photo is physically. For example a photo that's 5 inches by 7 inches has a resolution of 300 dpi at 1500 x 2100 pixels. A photo that's 4 inches by 6 inches would have a resolution of 300 dpi at 1200 x 1800 pixels.
I know this is a bit confusing, and if you have any doubts about photos for the yearbook just send them to mfcmag@hotmail.com and I can take a look at them for you. If they're not large enough I can let you know. Any image file taken straight from a modern digital camera should be fine - just not from mobile phone cameras, Facebook, etc.
An easy way to check the dpi in Windows is to click on the photo with the right button instead of the left, choose properties and then details. In the summary you can see the dpi value.thanks to both of you

I think many newbies find themselves a bit put off when they read the occasional comment like the one you quoted. Rest assured, however, that there are many long-term members and newbies alike who still find MFC to be a wonderful and welcoming community.True!
i know, just wanted to get some reactions like these to let other newbies know as well:blush-anim-cl:

I've not logged on for ages.. then I do and see FD has stepped down as an admin.
I think it's quite sad that he felt the need to take this step because I know how much he cares about this place and how hard he worked to help make it what it is now.
I don't ever come here anymore because the place has changed, not for the better.
Maybe I'm spoilt for having been here during the "better" times, could very well be but I don't feel welcome anymore.
FD stepping down is a drastic step, like I said, I know how much he cares.
Guess he's not feeling very welcome in the forum team either anymore..
Big loss for MFC.
i hope you realize when newbies (like me) read this they in turn might not feel welcome anymore as well when someone states it used to be better on here

Can someone tell me: what is 300 dpi? it tells me nothing. I can understand only like this : 1024×680, 1600×800 pixels and so on. That's why I can't understand what is the minimal size of the photos in pixels.
I asked in the Yearbook thread, but no-one is going to answer!!!
i think that's a great question, would like to know the answer to that one too
-
thought you wanted it in the same colors as the one you requested when you asked me yesterday
oh yes i do, but this is a start
-
