  1. Tienen Suikerrock 9.25 pm 10th row at the right. Sorry everyone, most of you are going to hate me for this but I didn't like LMFAO. It's funny at tv but live it was too noisy and flashy.Maybe it's the most wanted at this moment but I seriously don't want to look to LMFAO's underwear and bare behind live even it is meant to be hip.

MIKA however was, what else, fabulous. He put on a great show, talking better dutch then our prime minister in such a shy way everybody was melting.

Although the crowd was a bit on hold after LMFAO and MIKA was a bit nervous eventualy he and the band blowed up the venue. He talked about his intervieuw on BBC according the Olympics, the church on the market, his songs and Belgium. Love his new versions of old songs, his new songs and still adore MYH, can't wait for the symphonic version. He is really an artist who preforms live even better which is rare as you don't have the same facilities to purify everything like at the studios; that's why I'm so p*ssed off by that tweet of some joker who thinks MIKA is playbacking. :sneaky2: There was one once at Antwerp 2 years ago from Laatste nieuws too. I mean..que ? Can anyone please explain to me how you can do this while interacting with your band and public ? What about LMFAO ? He's dancing and jupming at the same time and doesn't even have too catch a breath ! I realy want to know ! Anyway, another great night with a great crowd. Way to go MIKA ! :thumb_yello:

  2. Back from London last evening. Everything went like clockwork. London: gorgeous city, lovely & friendly people, very nice & well situated hotel with impecable service. Seriously, I'm thinking about moving to London! Now about the gig: searched out the exact location of Heaven (this sounds weird) at 4 pm (lost my way twice , such an idiot in geographics) & there was already a Q. Came back at 7.30 pm, no problem at all getting in. Lovely place, reminded me of the time I went out in weekends. MIKA started at 9.30 pm and filled the place with his energy. Always a thrill when he's appearing like the earth stops turning for 10 sec.Big girl, Relax... it was heaven in Heaven but as hot as in hell. No airco. Luckely I had my Spanish fan with me otherwise I would have fainted. MIKA however was his heavenly self, loughed a lot and did a big pianohug with Curtis. We all had a ball :pbjt: He sang MYH wich was the highlight for me since this is my fav song up until now. He did an encore with TOOL in an amazing way and stopped at 10 pm. It was a fabulous gig wich I wouldn't have missed for the world. Again a remark: to all the people who are trying 2 get in the front 15 min. before MIKA starts: shame on you ! (I'm sure they are no MFC'rs) Other people are there waiting for like 2 hours and you're pushing them away with unknown arrogancy. :sneaky2: Not very nice at all especially when they are so much taller than the people already there. Otherwise, it was a lovely public & I met some interesting people. And before closing off, MIKA has said 'for the man I love' but frankly I realy don't care if he's in love with a man, a woman or a teacup. The main thing for me is his music and the fact he is in love, being loved, healty and safe. If there is someone who deserves a good and stable relationship it's him, so let us give him the privacy to enjoy it. Meanwhile we all can celebrate at his gigs and have a countdown for the 3rd album. Off to Tienen tonight. God, my bags under my eyes are so big I can start a garbage distributor shop! :aah:

  3. My 'little' report of last night's gig. We arrived at 19.30 and everything went smoothly. Weather was great, people where exited, not too crowdy (wich I love, sorry to say) and we all went for it. BUT: the supporting acts were too LONG and too HEAVY. The first group took about 35 min of enjoyable music, 25 min setting up stage for secound group. Now that was another cup of tea. Ok great drummer, music like mixture of Simply Red, U2ish but they had a bit of an ego (3 filmcameras on stage during gig!) They played 1 hour and getting lauder each song Now there I've had it and so did the crowd. Finaly MIKA started at 22.35 appr... It was like having a baby: expecting, 3 hours of waiting, getting tired, having pain in my back & legs and finaly there he is and at that minute you forget everything and you just are happy and exited. He was :wub2::naughty::kachinga: His voice was spot on and very pure just like on his albums! I loved the new arrangements of the old songs. Wish he put them on a collectors cd! His new songs were very catchy and the interaction with his new band is great. Felix looked like a cat who had cream milk, Max was very serious but in a funny way. Didn't saw much of Tim he seemed a bit on his own. The keyboardplayer: now that's a guy ! MIKA and he were playing around like 2 little kids on a playground. Joy is a great lady I like the way she's doing things. MIKA was very happy, relaxed and amusing. He played the audience like a ringmaster, he danced the night away and we all went wild (that is as wild as it gets at my age) It was the perfect gig and a perfect night. As always MIKA can make you feel happy, emotional, moved, it's a rollercoaster of emotions. That's why I love him so much. He is (imo) the greatest artist of his time and a great human being. His fanclub maybe isn't that big as Lady GaGa's but his fans really love and care about him. If your fanclub is very big you can be sure that there's a lot of hype and go with the flow involved. Organisationwize it went well, no drumming, very polite people. Bit of trouble leaving the field. Jus one remark: there was a group of minor valids and young people in wheelchairs. I found it terrible they couldn't see a thing because they were at the 4th row. Nobody seemed to care about that and I felt so sorry for them.I was on the 12th row and couldn't do much about it. Anyway, the gig went on until 23.35 and everyone left with a big smile on their faces (incl. MIKA & co) Didn't go to meet and greet (never do) had a 4h drive to Belgium ahead. Went to sleep at 5.30. If I can roll up my wrinckles it's up 2 London on Thursday ! Hope I did'n bore you all with this 'little' :wink2: report.

  4. Hey everyone!

Here goes my attempt to give you a decent report...

First off' date=' Ill start by saying that I am a very talkative person which I think really played to my advantage today. Also, this morning I saw this thread and the picture in the first post with all the filming info. I then recognized the bar in the background and knew exactly where to go...

I got there around 3pm, luckily found parking quickly and simply walked towards Allen St where they were filming. When I was approaching the bar (Lucky Jacks) I immediately saw him fixing his hair in the reflection of a window he was next to. I kept walking towards him and simply said "Mikaaa." Not in a OMG-I-am-going-to-pass-out tone, but in a casual, monotone. Don't get me wrong, I was a bit nervous and saying to myself "what are you doing?!!" -- He turned around and said "Hi!" as he kind of squinted and smiled (his eyes are very captivating in person) we gave each other a firm handshake and I said "Its such a pleasure to meet you! I thought Id grow grey hairs before Id ever get to meet you" He laughed and sarcastically said "Well lets see" as he acted as if he was about to inspect my hair lol, we both giggled. I then said, "would you mind if we took a picture together?" and he said "we actually just started shooting not too long ago, give me 2 minutes?" he raised his 2 fingers and grinned as he said it. "I said yes of coarse! I apologize for crashing the party!". He laughed and said "oh no worries!" I looked to my left, where the view was a bit obstructed and I see the whole crew waiting for us to finish our chit chat so the directer could yell "ACTION!" (This is where I said to myself, OF COARSE YOU WOULD INTERRUPT THE WHOLE SHOOT JOHNNY! ) This all happened within minutes of my arrival. It felt like 1-2-3!!

I then left the set because I figured they would be there for a while since they had just began filming. Also, I did not want to lurke around as he was kind of behind this wall where he would walk out from behind and into the "Scene" and this is where we were speaking, just the two of us! (and 2 crew members were scattered around) Anyway, I opted to leave the set and let him do his thing (after all, that is his job and should be respected) I went to visit a friend who works near by and we went to grab a bite. I then returned to the set and they were STILL filming the same scene (over and over) so I sat down on a near by bench and checked some work emails from my phone. Then out of nowhere, they crew began moving all of the equipment and Mika was gone. I figured they were moving from location, meaning somewhere else in NY. I said to myself, "well at least you shook his hand and had a quick private moment with him" so I walked around the corner to begin walking towards where I had parked my car. As I approached the next corner, there was Mika, his sister Yasmine and another very nice, blonde young lady. For a second I thought of walking past them and not bothering Mika, as it seemed they were speaking about the shoot and I saw the crew had already set up one street over, parallel from where they were originally filming. As I got closer he looked towards me and said "Hey!" [that was a nice feeling!'] I said, "Are you seriously going to make me beg for it?" as I raised my iPhone. They all laughed, Yasmine found that to be especially funny wink wink lol. He said to me "No! of coarse! come over here!" as I walked over to them he complimented my shoes and said "Those are some cool shoes, I like them!" and Yasmine said "Yes they are!" :blush-anim-cl: The nice blonde girl offered to take the picture for us as we posed (his arm over my shoulder, my arm across his back). As she worked the camera and we looked towards her even though she was not ready yet, I said to Mika, "I really love & appreciate your music." He let go of me, turned towards me and said "Thank you SO much that really means a lot" we remained facing each other and I said "Well I really mean that, you know, there aren't many artists out there doing what your doing.." he said "Wow, thank you, really, thank you, thats so nice of you to say" He then puts his hand over my shoulder again as we turn towards the young lady who apparently was now waiting for us to finish speaking lol.

She snapped the picture, and as she handed me my phone he said "awesome." I took my phone back and immediately looked at the picture while I was still next to him and said "Ok, lets see who needs photoshoping!!" he said "Not me! never!" very sarcastically. I gave him a BIG smile, shook his hand and said "It was so very nice meeting you, good luck on the rest of the shoot" He said "aw thank you very much, take care" I then shook hands with Yasmine and the other girl and said "nice meeting you" to the both of them as well.

Overall, This whole experience has still not settled in with me. I still cant believe it! It happened so spontaneously, and everything kind of happened organically. Not to mention what a NICE, humble, genuine, funny (I could go on forever) person Mika is. This world needs more Gentlemen like him.

I could not tell you how happy I was to be able to joke around with him, --with them all actually. It made the experience a bit more casual and enjoyable. I also loved the fact that he seems to have a dark, dry sense of humor! :naughty:

I didn't get to ask him about the new album etc. but It was definitely an amazing time!

Note: Not the best pics of me :aah:

Thank you for sharing this once in a lifetime experience! It confirms my thoughts about Mika that he's a wonderful guy. I love the pictures. Some guys have all the luck :naughty:

  5. After listening to the new song I had some remarks : first of all I love the lyrics, about the music well hmmmm, not quite convinced. More mainstream I think, not so popping out like his other music; On the other hand I think about David Bowie : He used to take on multiple personalities (remember Space Oddity, The Man Who Sold The World, Ziggy Stardust, Tin Machine, ...) and moved on during his career following all sort of music genres. No one can deny he's a genius. So let's all give Mika a break :thumb_yello:. His lyrics are sublime, his music is refreshing and he is re-inventing himself every album. I will give him the benifit of the doubt. I still love the man! :wub2:

  6. Hello everyone I have seen the "live" show on TV last night therefor Im walking on the bags under my eyes :boxed: instead of walking on sunshine and it doesn't feel good BUT it was worth while :thumb_yello:!! Mika returned on stage like a knight (long no seen) after a war (making his 3rd album) and he was his usual self: gorgeous, prince charming, shy and an impecibal preformance :mf_lustslow:. Above all not a 'look what a star and very important person I am' kind of guy. I utterly and sincirely love Canada for the warm and beautiful embrace you all gave to Mika. He deserved this IMHO after a difficult periode. This will help him to convince himself that he is still very wanted, very loved and very much appreciated. Didn't like the woman who presented it (sorry Canada)She interruped Mika 3 (!) times :sneaky2: when he was explaining why he spoke French so well and she talked a lot. (I would have put feathers in her mouth too :mf_rosetinted:). The husband of Celine Dion was hilarious as a derwish so conclusion : great show, great Mika, great crowd and great stars! :cheerful_h4h:

Btw I think it was Yasmine on the picture if it was Paloma Mika would have tweeted about it, wouldn' he?

Going to sleep early today otherwise my mirror will fall down tomorrow morning! Thank you MFC for all links, photo's and info :thumb_yello:

  7. T4P!

I like it, although it isn't his finest musical moment. :teehee: But no one expected it to be, so I'm just going to enjoy what we have!

The funny drums do sound a bit more exotic than Christmas, and it is a bit irregular throughout, but I think that only adds to its unique charm. :naughty:

Hey you're totaly right. I love the fact it's Mika and the sound is very big band 50's but this is my 'time of the year :newyear:' so I'm going to lay back and enjoy. Wish he made a cd with traditional Xmas songs it would make a difference with my old Xmas collection and it would make the waiting for his new cd less long :teehee:

  8. OK, based on this new video, I'm fairly confident in these lyrics now --

except that one line after "port of my call"...

Bursting in a blood red sky

    A slow landslide

and the world we leave behind

there's a way to lose your head

and disappear and not return again...

When I fall to my feet

Wearin' my heart on my sleeve

    All I see just amazes

You are the port of my call

You shot and leavin' me raw (?)

    Now I know you're amazing

    'Cause all I need

    Is the love you breathe

put your lips on me and

    I can live under water,

    under water, under water!

    Under water!

Bursting with a bright blue sky

    A slow landslide

and the world I've left behind

there's a way to lose your head

    and disappear

    and not return again

When I fall to my feet

Wearin' my heart on my sleeve

    All I see just amazes

You are the port of my call

You shot and leavin' me raw (?)

    Now I know you're amazing

    'Cause all I need

    Is the love you breathe

Put your lips on me and

    I can live under water,

    under water, under water!

    Under water!

Bursting with a blood red sky

    A slow landslide

and the world I've left behind

After seeing the high quality vid and dubble checked it I am sure these are the right lyrics. Thank you so much for doing this for us. :thumb_yello: Love the way he sings it, love the vurnability. Can't wait for his cd I think it will be a white elephant in comparissement with the mainstream today (with exception of Adele). :wink2:

  9. Dear MFC'rs it has been a while I've been online but this I couldn't resist to answer. I think that all the drawings are very original and very beautiful. I wish I had so much talent so I didn't like the winning picture either.

Don't give up on your talents! x:thumb_yello:

  11. Hello MFCrs, desperat question from me with the flew (for over a week now ! ) Some time ago I bought a present for Mika meaning to send it to him for Christmas. HAs anyone have any experience with this ? Mind you, not fishing for anything private taht goes without saying, but a general adress or mailbox because I like to be sure he receives it. If anyone would like to help me, PM me so it doesn't have to go on the internet. Thx for any help and reply :biggrin2: xx

  12. On holiday in Spain since 14th of July. Waited until then to see the Murcia gig on big screen with Spanish friends. They saw Werchter gig on my pc. We all agreed Murcia was the top. Crowd in Spain was so much more enthousiastic then Werchter and all went for Mika wich is amazing because you have to be very special to get into their hearts but he did it once again ! Only wish he was in Spain now so I could have seen him too. Maybe next time ? Everybody here loves him so pleae Mika come to Alicante, Valencia or anything in between, we are in Javea so we can come too ! It would be a highlight.

Greetings from a hot and sunny Javea !

Ps. Saw a big vueling plane at the airport of Valencia with MTV on it. It is a very special lounge VIP plane. Was it a Mika plane it got a lot of colours on it, hope so !

  13. So here's my short report. I loved Mika's gig so much. A bit before he was on, the crowd got a bit excited because they apparently chose big girls and lollipopgirls, didn"t think they would ask:teehee:

The gig itself was great, I've enjoyed it so much, the whole crowd seemed to be participating. I loved his trumpetsolo again and loved thaat he played Kick Ass live. Could tell so much more of what i loved, but i'm sure other people are better at giving reports than i am.

i Loved the fact that i met some other MFC'ers as wel, but i felt a bit of an intruder , because most of them already knew each other

    I've had a great day yesterday:biggrin2:

pics can be found here (hoping the link will work)

    http://s738.photobucket.com/albums/xx23/ilseh1983/Mika%20TW%20Classic%202010/

and a link with some pics a friend of mine took

    http://s738.photobucket.com/albums/xx23/ilseh1983/MIKA%20TW%20Classic%202010%20Part%202/

Loved the group picture seems you all are a WONDERFULL group of Mika fans ! Was to late on the festival to meet you all (14.30) because of the weather. I can understand the red sentence. Think I would feel the same, on the other hand, we are golden and all for Mika so next time maybe...

    @ Steph : Thanks again for t-shirt ! :biggrin2:

  14. So I survived Werchter. Went there by car, had a walk of 30min to the festival area. Saw Amy MDo, sweet girl, great preformer, good music, crowd loved her. Then came the SS. Never heard of saw them before, now I know why. Out came a singer with the most hiddyest ugly trousers I have ever seen, took his shirt off and looked ridiculous (Mika held his shirt on (sniff) and still looked fabulous) The girl was my idea of Lucrecia Borgia and the bassist was an escape from x-man movies. The girl did something grose with her microphone and that was it for me, so I filed them under 'never again' altough the music was relativly good.

The stage setting of Mika had some stage troubles with the trees, the piano and Martin's guitar. It took about 14 people to put the flowers and everything in place in 30min. The band came out and the the magic moment : The BMM (Beautiful Mika man). The crowd went crazy, he started Grace Kelly (acoustic) and away we went ! If I remember correctly he played SITM / BB / BE / BG / Rain / Lollipop / LT / WAG / Relax. He went 5 min over time. He looked tired but he danced and jumped as if his life was depending on it. Crowd was over the moon. There was one 'sniff moment' when he sat on his dirtcan with his arms over his face and his legs against his chest like a little lost lonely boy. I had the immediat urge to go to him and confert him ! Anyway the crowd jumped and sung every song. Unfortunatly for me I stood next to a guy who thought he was Mika. Few of us are blessed with a voice like Mika, so please don't shout 'take it ieieieieieieiesie' in somebody's ear. Oke, so the BMM went off sage again with the first price of great preformance and beautiful stage (flowers everywhere, loved it !)

BEP started at 22.35. Great preformance but didn't stay until 00.00. Bloody hell ! Mika and band came to dance with BEP and we left and didn't saw it ! That'll teach us ! Werchter crowd wasn't the same as pinkpop crowd. Lots of pushing, jumping, sitting down between gigs so rest of us couldn't move anymore. In front of us there was a vip space for 2000 people who had bracelets for free, they were mortly adults. So rest of us couldn't see a lot. Especially children and little people were depending from the screens. Such a shame. The whole area was dirty. Stept on about everything man can eat and drink altough there were dirtbags. Also I couldn't get away after Mika people were stuck (yes, stuck in the middle !) Some nice guys started to shout in French and pushed people aside. I felt like a VIP so thx guys !

So this was my Werchter experience. Wasn't thet great but hey, anything for Mika !

P.S. Saw 2 WAG t-shirts, 2 blue ones and 1 white Mika face

  15. OK, so I've been at Pinkpop. Was there, saw Kate Nash, that was trash. Music relativly goof, voice give me a headake. Slash was fabulous, revivel of my adolesency. Paradise city, by the sword, starlight, really made my day. It was pourring rain but who cared. Felt sorry for MIKA. BUT ! He came, saw and concorred. After his 3th song the sun came out ! Bad luck for him because he was going to sing 'Rain'. Anyway, he was amazing ! 1.90 M of perfection with and without shirt, he stood about 5 M from me. Sorry to say there were a bunch of idiots who would try to spoil the gig. Give them a piece of my mind. Never the less, without the whole circusshow he was still standing there and took the whole crowd, who fell for him in an instand. He's a great preformer and a lover boy like first encounter of the first kind of thing. Didn't stay for Pink, was to tired. Had a 2 hours drive ahead and next day was monday so ... Did saw the truck of Mika as i went to my car. Drove home with a beautiful sunset. Thanks Mix, love you and your gorgeous band. Countdown to Werchter. L & K
