TOOL for me is the best album from Mika. I loved LICM and TBWKTM and I do miss 'the old Mika', but this new sound works and I really like it.

 

 

I need to agree with that. They don't play enough Mika here. I remember when Grace Kelly came out and i remember that they played it really much. And now, like once a year or maybe once in two months. Celebrate did well with Radio Nova, 1st place in the Week's Top 10 for 3 weeks And The Voice played Celebrate and (don't remember who it was, maybe Ville or someone) they said it was very cheerful and "typical Mika" song. I've heard Underwater too and Kids once

Mika has changed through the years, but he is still the same guy whose music we all fell in love with.

Oh no! I totally missed that 1st place on Radio Nova! Well, I never listen to it so maybe that's it... I think that they play Mika's music most on Radio X3M, so apparently Swedish-speaking Finns have a good taste in music:thumb_yello:

I just read that we've had about 50 hours of sunshine here in Finland since the beginning of December. And I live in the southern part of Finland so it's much less in Lapland... Plus most of that sunshine has been during the time I'm at school so I've seen maybe two hours of sunshine:blink: This is so depressing! But at least it's not cold anymore, only something like -5 C:thumb_yello:

Yeah, he has to sell records and be on the radio but I don't think that TOOL is that much different. At least I can't imagine that I could ever hear for example Popular song on the radio... (Not that they play Mika at all here in Finland:tears: Sometimes I hear some old songs like Relax or Grace Kelly and once I heard Underwater but that's pretty much it...) But personally I love TOOL and I think it's very Mika. Not the same way like LICM but I mean his voice is always incredible and unique!

I finnished my high school studies today (only final exams left!) and in Finland we have this tradition called "penkkarit". We drive around the city in decorated trucks, shouting and waving to people. We also throw candy to them so especially kids are very excited. And now I'm going out with my best friends and having some fun (in Finland Valentine's Day is actually "friend's day" so it's not that much about girlfriends and boyfriends).

What I always like about his interviews, regarding the gay-thing, is that he doesn't make a big thing about it. If he's not asked about it he doesn't mention it, and if he is asked about it, he doesn't make it into a big deal.

So many gay celebs act like it's the best thing since sliced bread, and they flaunt it. I hate that, because it's not the best thing, it's just something that some people happen to be.

Actually, I watched Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year and they had a young man named Rylan, who'd been on X Factor (he can't sing though) and he's gay. He's a bit more obvious than Mika, but doesn't flaunt it, and he said something interesting.

He said if he had a child, he wouldn't want the child to be gay, because he wouldn't want his child to go through what he's had to go through. He'd much prefer his child to be straight and have a simpler life. I think Mika would have approved of Rylan's comments.

I so agree with you. I love it about Mika too, he's just himself and comfortable with it. (And hey, why not to be?) But what that Rylan said is just kind of sad. It's not fair...

Yippee! Someone else likes Owl City too! I've liked Adam's music since I heard Fireflies the first time. And it's still one of my favourites. Every time I have to go to the dentist I always listen Dental care. And that's what I love in both Mika and Owl city: their song can be about dental care, bullying and other little bit random but important things (especially bullying, I don't know about dental care...) and they are always great!

I'm still reading 'The Casual Vacancy' from JK Rowling. Because I really enjoyed reading Harry Potter (I grew up with these books ), I went and bought her new book too.

 

But I must say... I'm halfway through and I'm still not sure if I like it or not. I guess it's still growing on me. But it's starting to get better now.

It's totally different from Harry Potter, but I'm determinated to read this book untill the very last page, just because I want to finish it, eventhough I don't like it that much

I'm also reading The Casual Vacancy and even though it's not Harry Potter (I've grown up loving Harry Potter books) I think it's pretty good. And you can totally tell it's written by Rowling, she has a very unique way of describing things.

Well I couldn't hear it too well could of done with being a bit louder but every time I had a break I heard it clearly.

I just read Torka aldrig tårar utan handskar by Jonas Gardell (the name means something like "never wipe tears without gloves" in English). Great book!

And I'm kinda proud cos I read it in Swedish which is definitely NOT my first language.
