    Last night, BBC Radio 2 aired a very special show dedicated to the musical career or legendary writer and entertainment personality Andrew Lloyd-Webber, to celebrate his 70th birthday. Jo While presented the 2-hour show with contributions from a host of talent including Nerina Pallot, Mica Paris, The Vamps and many more, with covers of huge songs from The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Evita and more.
    The show will be available for 29 more day, listen again whilst you can here!

    On Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, Mika will return once again to the airwaves of BBC Radio 2 for two more episodes of his popular radio show, ‘The Art of Song.’ As in previous years, Mika will welcome special guests to the studio, talk about this favourite songs and how they have inspired him and play some all-time classic records.     On 2nd June, Mika will perform live at the grand finale of the 2017-2018 rugby season, the Finale Top 14 at Stade de France in Paris!
    After the final where two as yet unknown rugby teams will compete for the Bouclier de Brennus, Mika has been invited by the National Rugby League to perform in front of the 80,000 spectators and rugby fans in the Stade de France for a spectacular closing show! This will be no ordinary gig – it will be a specially created live performance, unique to the event!
    Fans can also watch the show live on Canal+. More info coming soon.

    To celebrate 100 years of leading the way in creative penmanship, Pilot has launched a special centenary campaign in collaboration with Mika! The brand wanted to showcase their dedication to passion and innovation and who better to front it than someone known for the same qualities in his own career. The ‘Mika Limited Edition’ collection pens are inspired by Mika’s incredible career to date and showcase creativity and imagination with intricate designs and vibrant colour. Made with his sister Yasmine, Mika’s collaboration with Pilot is a true expressions of his unique creativity and positive force.
    The range includes a total of 24 pens, covering the iconic G-2, V5 and FriXion Ball lines. Each colour has a unique design and they are available in a variety of sets of singularly across Europe.
    In Mika’s own words, “It’s a pleasure to celebrate Pilot’s 100th anniversary together with you and to create a special project for this birthday. Pilot has been part of my life, I grew up with these pens, I grew up stealing my father’s V5, stealing my mother’s (V7) and learning how to write properly with these pens and also learning how to draw. So using these same pens that we now have in our design studio today, we’ve created another world and our versions of Pilot pens for this birthday. It’s an honour, we’re very happy to be doing it, I am so happy to be actually drawing these things that are going to be part of something so iconic.”

    In February 2017, Peugeot launched their brand new 108 model, a compact city car designed with a fun and stylish flair. They wanted someone with a vibrant and colourful style to be the ambassador of the campaign and when they asked Mika, he was delighted to accept. Known for his colourful and inventive style both on stage and off, it was the perfect match and Mika is proud to have continued his relationship with the brand into 2018 for a second year.
    The Collection range of 108 comes in a range vibrant colours, each with a wide variety of customisation options, and Mika will showcase these throughout the year in a series of chic and fun photo and video campaigns. 
    Speaking about the collaboration, the brand say “MIKA and the PEUGEOT 108 make a perfect pair, both being utterly urban, imaginative, and elegant. The new advertising campaign underlines the partner-in-crime relationship and creativity between MIKA and his 108, and the way they complement and influence each other and playfully transform the world around them.”
    At the start of the collaboration, Mika said, “It is an honour to be associated with such an iconic French brand – PEUGEOT. I have grown up with it my entire life and have always loved their aesthetic and design. The new campaign is a fun collision of my world and that of the 108 ! We had a great time creating it and you can feel it watching the ad.”
    When confirming his partnership for a second year, Mika went on to say “”I am delighted to be working with PEUGEOT again this year. It is a real pleasure to represent this brand that has rocked my childhood, and which has been an integral part of my daily life since always.     To celebrate the 20 year career of incredible Japanese artist Sheena Ringo, a special tribute album will be released on 23 May 2018! The concept of the record is to ‘go beyond’ – beyond generations, beyond music genres and beyond all borders. An outstanding lineup of collaborators and featured artists are already involved on the album, including AI, Yosui Inoue, Hikaru Utada & Nariaki Obukuro, Kaela Kimura, Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku, Takao Tajima(ORIGINAL LOVE), Sakura Fujiwara, Takako Matsu, Daichi Miura, RHYMESTER, LiSA, Rekishi, the ウラシマʼS(Special Band formed for this tribute by the members from SPITZ/Mr.Children/ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION/Ameno Parade)… and now MIKA! There will also be a special short novel by million selling writer Tesuya Honda for the CD booklet.

    A fantastic new rework of Mika’s huge hit single ‘Celebrate’ (feat. Pharrell Williams) is out today!
    The very talented Ryan Riback has rediscovered the track and worked his magic on it. You might have heard it in the new Pilot pens commercial, they have chosen to use it across their 100 years of Pilot global TV campaign!
    Speaking about the track, Ryan says:
    ‘When I got the call to work on a record by Mika and Pharrell I immediately jumped at the opportunity! “Celebrate” was already an amazing record but it was fun to take that record and put my own twist on it. Given the lyrics and vocal melody are so uplifting, I decided to keep it happy and fun, and just add some fresh sounds :)’

    Last night in Milan, UNHCR held their third Charity Gala Event, aimed at raising funds for the Educate a Child Project and raising awareness on the refugee cause. Guests were invited into an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ themed evening that carefully and emotionally educated about the plights of refugee children and UNHCR’s important work to combat this crisis.
    As you may know, Mika has been an avid supporter of UNHCR and their incredible work, so it was fitting that he made a special appearance at the event to talk about his involvement with the charity and his trip with them to Lebanon. It is hoped that the funding raised from the event will allow thousands of refugee children to return to education and therefore hope for a better future. Here are some of the photos from the event.

    Last night, the final episode of ‘Stasera Casa Mika’ Season 2, Mika’s explosive and entertaining Italian TV show, wowed fans across Italy and beyond.
    Guests included legendary Brazilian musician Gilberto Gil (complete with full orchestra!), the incredible Carla Bruni and rapper Fedez. The episode also featured Mika singing various numbers, including an incredible duet with Gilberto Gil. And should we talk about Mika’s opening suit?! You have to see this…

    Earlier today, Mika was honoured with a special ceremony where he was awarded the keys to the City of Florence by the mayor, Dario Nardella. The tradition is reserved for esteemed visitors, residents or notable others who the city wishes to honour, naming them honorary citizens of the city. It was a wonderful experience for Mika and a big honour to be recognised in such a way by a city he holds so close to his heart.
    The ceremony itself was held in the stunning Sala Leone X frescoed room at the town hall,  the historic Palazzo Vecchio. Mika later visited Galleria degli Uffizi with the director of the world famous museum and saw amazing works of art like Botticelli’s ‘Primavera.’
