thats very true... which is why i asked about how long the set will be ... because i've got the canadian album with 2 extra songs and its like 50 minutes TOPS lol... so I figure the set would have to be very short... there just isnt enough material to go on... but 40 minutes.. wow lol!

For all you wonderful canadians ... mika will be on MOD on tuesday march 20th... I don't know if this has been posted... i assume it hasn't as I was a dummy and figured that he'd do MOD the day of his show and got tickets for that... so now i had to call much and beg for tuesday ones, cancel wednesday ones.. and probably wont get either haha! but for everyone else.. callll get ur tickets! theyre FREE free free... and hes gonna sing and do an interview ... oh and if any of you do call... get an extra ticket for me haha! i am 20 ... 21 in a week woohoo!

So I am pretty pumped for the toronto show on the 21st and I was curious about a few things:

1) what is the setlist made up of? How many songs, what order, does he engage the audience and what not?

2) how long is the show?

Ok, so I've come a cross a lot of people discrediting other people's questions because they have nothing to do with the music. I see a lot of that on this board, where people will discuss his brothers, sisters, back up band etc, but when it comes to a touchy subject, they'll just say "It has nothin to do with how good his music is so dont ask" ... well why not? Everything else is discussed... whether he is gay or straight doesn't change the fact that the music is great and we've all bought the album and will go see the show... but the fact of the matter is, esp for some of us north americans, sex sells.. doesnt matter who ur selling to, it SELLS... prime example is how fast Perez hilton started promoting mika, as Perez generally does with those he believes to be gay. I don't have a problem with it, but once people are around in the public eye, their fans tend to ask questions, especially about a topic that is so often discussed in the media, its a curious subject. Whether he is gay or straight doesnt change the music, yes, but it doesnt disqualify the legitimacy of discussing a certain subject.

On a side note, I sometimes get the feeling that some ppl are crushing on him and if he were to come out in a certain way that wasn't "favourable" (guy has a crush and mika is straight/girl has a crush and mika is gay) ... they'd be very sad. I'll be honest.. hes hot.. if he was gay my hot night with mika dream would be crushed haha!

Yes, in Birmingham, after he had finished Stuck in the Middle he told us that his Mum was in the audience and so he felt uncomfortable singing the first line to that song and then he repeated the line "I sit and think about the day that you’re gonna die". I can't recall exactly how he said it, but it it was far more explicit than him being uncomfortable because it was about dying. It seemed clear (to me anyway, others may remember it differently) from what he said, that the line actually refers to his Mum.

 

I had already thought from the "five kids better than one" that this song was about his family and his relationships with others in his family. His comment in Birmingham confirmed that for me.

From what you witnessed at the show with the line referring to his mom, and my listening to the song, I also thought that that line refered to one of his parents, and I assumed it was his mother. I think like someone earlier said it might have to do with him (possibly?) being gay.. and traditional families.. especially in the mid east.. (mom's lebanese right?) that sorta thing is pretty much ignored.. if you're gay dont say it, dont act upon it etc etc, But hes grown up in the west which means he's had a lot of western influence and that would leave him being stuck in the middle in that respect. Also with him being the middle child, there's a lot of issues surrounding middle children feeling ignored and whatnot so that probably plays a huge part in the song.

Haha really? you cant sell tickets? or trade them or anything? thats a silly rule... what if a show is sold out or something... thats not really spreading the mika love! But if its not allowed then hey, im sorry for breakin the rules

on the plus side... i did manage to track down tickets to the show this morning.. I missioned it out to downtown toronto ... parked in a shady ish neighborhood (paralel parked mind you) but ANYWAY point is.. my friend and I are going to see mika on the 21st in toronto! woohoo!!

Edit* I heard about Mika on the radio CHUM fm.. which lets you look up a song you hear on their website using a time stamp.. so anyway I kept hearing this nutty song.. and I wanted to download it.. so i finally go around to it and it turned around to be Mika.. spawned an obsession ever since.. its been about 6 weeks or so.. its only escalated in the last few weeks though lol...

Hey everyone, Im new here and a fairly new mika fan

Anyway I'm from toronto and I found out he has a show here.. sooo I was totally hyperventalating like a 12 year old who's about to meet her favourite backstreet boy.. anyway I just found out that the show is sold out! So I thought I'd ask around and see if anyone has tickets theyre willing to sell me? a spare or anything? I would be forever greatful!
