  1. I'm here with cath85 at her house in Luxembourg and looking at this thread. I knew you would post this picture Nina, you seemed to be eager to catch Mika's most "authentic" smile on camera!:naughty: And it is a great picture.

Concert was fantastic, just love the concept of the show, really well put together. I really enjoyed seeing the whole backstage side of it, the excitement of walking up the stairs to the stage and getting dressed my Mrs Penniman who takes control of absolutely everything. She is so charming and still singing along the words to her sons's songs behind the stage. Mariposa has just left, I hope she'll have a speedy recovery from her claustrophobic Big Girl torture mask experience! lol No I think she actually enjoyed it, but damn these masks were quite a challenge!:boxed:

Thank you so much for this!:thumb_yello:

I had a great time going to the show and autograph session, happy to meet Mika's fan crowd again! Btw, you can see me in basically every screencap of the interview along with Mika and Lucinda...what a moment of fame! lol

  3. I kinda agree... but i dont want the whole album. I'll wait the 16 days with that. Theres just only 4 tracks i wanna hear and we even have 2 of em already...

Well I sure DO want the new Mika album, and ASAP! And I want to listen to all of the songs. What's wrong with that? Why do you enjoy the wait so much?

    Patience is a virtue...

  4. Johnny!

    Good to see you're back!:thumb_yello:

I'm only going to this one so I hope to see you there :biggrin2:

I hope you'll manage to get tix somehow! *fingers crossed*

Which day are you going, 11th or 12th? I'll see you there!:wink2:Then I'll get in somehow by trespassing illegally, chatting up Mika's mum or maybe even by regularly buying a ticket, but that does seem very unlikely!

Btw, Mariposa, when I saw on youtube that you had been on a Lily Allen-concert, I was like "me too, please!!!" Then I looked at the video, and I seriously hope you got a refund for that drunk chick's "performance"!!!:sneaky2:

  5. Oh my God! Just had the shock of my life when I was reading that mikasounds.com-mail telling me "tour" and then "Paris sold out"!

I've been somewhere else with my thoughts recently but how could I only oversleep this?! But I will get in somehow, that is for sure!

Anyway, looking forward to seeing the fan-posse again!:biggrin2:

(and sorry Mariposa for not answering to your mail, I was a bit distracted...)

  6. I found this single review on billboard.com. It makes a good point about corporate-commanded American radio airplay and a thumbs-up for Mika!:thumb_yello:

For all the grumbling about record labels' misplaced priorities, you've got to give credit to Casablanca/ Universal Republic's fortitude in knowing a good thing when they've got it . . . even as radio programmers react with a collective "Wizard of Oz" mentality: no courage and reasoning faculties befitting a bale of straw. It's just not that tough to understand the mass-appeal charms of Mika, with his campy, crush-velvet grooves; madcap, singalong choruses; and clear-cut image as a guy who just wants to bring mirth back to the art of making music. In nearly two dozen other nations, "Relax, Take It Easy" was the sixth—count 'em, sixth—top 10 hit from Mika's shimmering full-length "Life in Cartoon Motion." In the States, it managed to reach the top five on the Dance Airplay chart—garnering a Grammy Award nod for best dance recording—but that's simply not enough: Top 40 should be luxuriating in the charms of Mika, starting with last year's ace launch single "Grace Kelly." Fortunately, new media and satellite radio have opened the floodgates, as he continues to sell out stateside venues. Mika is a keepsake and "Relax" an easy, breezy, obvious smash. If corporate-commanded FM wonders why it continues to lose listener momentum, start right here. —Chuck Taylor

  7. Mika's management should begin offering presales so that fans will be allocated the best seats. I intend to be pushing for that if they don't do it automatically. It would be nice if MFC becomes official because we'll have some more clout to make it happen.

There are usually general presales available too if you're on top of things so you'll get a chance to grab better seats before the general public who are usually only aware of the official on-sale date.

I don't think that a fanclub like MFC which offers free access to everyone would offer a presale. Presales normally have limited access and the selection is made by money!

How can you move, dance, feel free in an arena filled with seats? Running to get front is part of the game and prevents abuses like huge price differences. You might think a 30$ difference doesn't matter but it does for some. I actually kinda like the endless queuing and the meeting with other people before the gig. Arriving at 9PM to get your seat would spoil the fun a bit for me.

    +1:wink2:

  8. This is another reason to have seated venues. Then you can breeze in at 9 pm and take your seat without having to endure opening acts. You're also free to come and go and your seat will still be there when you get back.

True...opening acts can be annoying!:sneaky2: But in seated venues the front row only belongs to people with ****loads of money or crazy people willing to put a mortgage on their house!:bleh:

  9. 80000:blink: ? who? in italy? lol

i think it should be a great experience.. for mika too!:thumb_yello:

mfc'ers are always in the first row:fisch: lol

That was Madonna at the stadio olimpico in Roma!:biggrin2: And of course the MFC will occupy the first row!:bleh:

I agree with what you say about being at the front- the problem here is that to be at the front of a 50K venue, one needs to queue not for a day, but for dayS.

Luckily queuing time is not proportionate to the size of a venue:hypo: ...queing all day long always gets you to the front row!:naughty:

  10. hey johnny!!!

yes I am still thinking that I will come, although the 54000 people really freak me out!

I have once been to a 80 000 people concert and I must say it was quite civiziled and I wasn't being squashed or something...but it is admittedly a little harder to get to the front row! But if you do manage to get to the front row, then it is absolutely incredible: you can live the same closeness to stage and artist as with smaller concerts, your screaming can be heard:bleh: ...it's just that when you turn around you see huge masses of people jumping, making waves or singing along which makes it even more amazing!:biggrin2: I don't mind a huge crowd!:punk:

Sorry if I offend people being too positive about this!:bleh:

  11. When I first heard the news I was like  and I'm still ! So yes, Mika has sold really big in France this year but booking a 50000-people-stadium still seems a megalomaniac thing for a debut artist to do!:bleh: Obviously, if they sell manage to fill it, job well done...

But just what is the kind of show they plan to do there? Are they planning more shows on such a large scale? Large sceens with video projections, many dancers, pyro effects...they are going to have to do a lot of work to do such a big show!

Artists capable of attracting masses of people often do several nights in smaller stadiums like Bercy (16000) and very few choose to do this 50000-stadium, so why is Mika?

So many questions:bleh:...I am excited about this!:biggrin2:

    Cath are you coming then?:wink2:

  12. I bought my DVD this morning! And it realy looks fantastic!

I've just watched the concert and i don't know what to feel now: happy, crazy,...!

I've been listening Mika's CD almost every day since march and i've been reading this forum quite a while and i liked reading it but i could not always understand your enthusiasm. Now i do understand!!!! :cheerful_h4h: When i was watching the DVD i could not believe what i saw: such an artist! He's amazing on that stage!

Tuesday i will see him for the fisrt time, I was realy looking forward to it but now i just can't wait!

I'm going to watch the documantary now!! And then the concert again and again and again i think!!

And for the people that still have to wait: just hold on, it's worth it!!

It is great that watching the DVD got wou so excited! Enjoy your first concert!:thumb_yello:

I'm going to watch the whole thing NOW!!!

Anxiously awaiting her reports on certain scenes!!!:roftl:
