Hmmmm.. Maybe I should listen to more songs from Ninet?
Dunno why I haven't heard of him before Is he big in Israel?
In fact not long ago they did a cover for Ofra Haza together - its on You tube, just type Ninet and Ivri
And yes, Ivri is really popular...started as the composer (he wrote stuff for israeli ballet company Bat Sheva) he went to be singing songwriter with his 1st album in 97....
-
But imo Har'el Ska'at should have won instead of Moyal in season 2... and Shiri Maimon instead of Ninet Tayeb in the first one... but nevertheless all four of them are great!! '
Yeah, Ivri Lider is nice too... I kinda like the song "Bo", which made me want to watch the movie "Yossi & Jagger" when I saw the music video haha his song "Ha-Boa" (is it called that?) is kinda nice too!
I like Ninet best:bleh: theres something so touchy and vulnerable about her voice!
as for Ivri - he is the ultimate "soundtrack for Tel-Aviv" for me (if such thing exists:bleh: )

hi!
i'm jewish:), and i tried to learn ivrit a few years ago, from a book, but it's real hard learning on your own and without anyone to talk to(i have relatives in israel, but they only come by about once year and my family only speak idish) so i had to give up on it, but i'll take it up again when i go to college i hope
i am very proud of my heritage and hope to live in israel one day, i've been there twice and i really felt belonged there...
don't know any israeli artist though(except the ones who sing religious music- i even had a tape of kids playing an almost rock version of some religious songs:punk: )
Go to YouTube and start listening to Ivri Lider or any of the above mentioned artists:bleh:
Music is the best way to learn languages, believe me:bleh:
-
as for me - Ive already mentioned Janice:bleh:
maybe Nina Simone?
in fact, wld be interesting to hear him doing some bluesy-ish stuff....because of his remarkable voice he can sing just anything...
Ive been quite hooked (thru a friend) on an American band "blues traveler"- rather famous in the US, so theres a song "Yours" ...
-
I wish u all teh best luck!!!
I was so nervous while waiting for my tix to London gig to arrive:roftl:
-
ok. so I think I saw a discussion of who he should sing a duo with,
and now Im going to ask -
WHO DO U THINK HE SHLD COVER - any suggestions in any music genres:bleh:
(I've heared him covering Shakira:roftl: , and the view - same jeans, and Harry N, of crse, and DMB - Satellite...)
-
grrreat song!
again - wish i cld hear it in its fullness...
according to what Ive heared- all Beatles to me, late Beatles - I mean I can easily imagine this kind of song and piano and vocals in the Let it Be film...
-
I heard RELAX for many times on the radio (end of 2006), but didnt pay much attention...(still dont like it)
and then I saw GRACE KELLY vid, i think it was one of the music channels, dont remember exactly where, it was beginning or mid-Jan...
and I rushed to google the guy:naughty:
cos he was all curly, in bright clothes, and the name was MIKA, and of crse I thought he was Israeli:roftl:
well, since he is half-lebanese - still some sort of a neighbour:naughty:
