  1. WOW - thank you so much for those wonderful photos Naectegale :huglove:

What an absolutely AMAZING gig - LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the set, the band, the merchandise... oh and MIKA :wub2:

I can't top the praise Kev has given the gig - by saying he enjoyed this gig even more than Lady Gaga !! MIKA still has the ability to make me feel like a teenager - and I LOVE it !!

The icing on the cake was obviously seeing Meeks reaction to Mini-MIKA - I so hope the person that recorded that part of the M&G is an MFC'er... must be patient and hopefully it may appear on here one day.

Shame I couldn't get a personalised exercise (maths) book - they had sold out, but managed to nab one of the 3 remaining turquoise hoodies :boing: :boing:

It was great seeing so many familiar faces too - LOVE you guys :wub2:

  2. Hmmm, I think HMV are trying to zap MIKA off their website completely - they're selling the Deluxe 2 Disc version of TBWKTM for only £4.99

Perhaps that's one factor contributing to the rise of the album in the charts again !!

I feel the pain of all those trying to purchase a physical copy of BIOTG - I've aired my thoughts in that thread... there MUST be somewhere we can buy it grrrrrrr :mad3:

  3. oh

i even thanked him for his tweets of last night and he replied:

KarlyAndKenneth @robertina59 Your welcome. He is a Legend.

    talking about Mika.....

so i thought he was nice!

Maybe he is nice... but on tv he came across as rude, highly arrogant and extremely chauvinistic - just plain horrid... (but obviously I don't know him personally so this is just my own opinion :wink2:)

  4. our 'friend' of last night took a pic with mika!

The gig looked awesome - thank you so much for the reports and videos. REALLY getting excited for Hammersmith now :boing:

  5. I do hope I get to meet Mika tonight.:blush-anim-cl: I would like a small opportunity to be a respectful fangurl :pinkbow: But I know all too well from others' experience, no matter how much you hope and wish, it is all in the hands of a tall and skinny man. I might be begging for tweet help later:aah:

    :fangurl:

Awww - you soooo deserve your MIKA moment - especially after having to wait so very long! You've always been so 'selfless', enthusiastic and supportive of everyone elses gig reviews and experiences over the past couple of years (and on top of all that having the patience of a saint :angel_not:)

I have everything crossed that your wishes come true tonight - and that you have the time of your life :huglove:

  6. A good review from Digital spy:thumb_yello::biggrin2:

I love the album version of rain. Hated it before that though. Now it is a great dance track, and I especially love his pet shop boys channelling in the middle.

Yeah I hated the 'old' version too - but Rain is in my top 3 fave songs on the album now :wub2:

    Nice review !

  7. What a night !!

I'm really at a loss for the words to describe how absolutely brilliant and out of this world last night's gig was. If we never got to see MIKA ever again we could still live our lives happy in the knowledge that we have seen (in our humble opinion) his best live performance to date, though how he is ever going to top that is beyond us. A truly remarkable evening.

We had a feeling when this gig was announced that it might turn out to be something special but we had no idea HOW special.

The venue was beautiful, it holds 650 but at a guess there were only about 350 in there for the support acts and maybe 500 when MIKA hit the stage. We were seated in church style pews and the whole evening was so relaxed you could go and have a chat with friends or get a mug of tea / coffee / hot chocolate in between the acts without any fear of losing your place. It was more like a social gathering than a gig and all set in a wonderfully atmospheric setting.

The support acts were Daisy Dares You (a 16 year old whose first single is out in Feb) and Alex Gardner (only 18 but a very good voice, think we might hear a bit more about him in the coming years) Jo Whiley was hosting the evening and did so with great enthusiasm, her love and passion for music really shows through when she speaks, as anyone who has listened to her on the radio will testify. She spent much of the time between acts mingling and chatting to people and despite being very busy seemed more than happy to pose for photos with those who asked....lovely lady!!

Then we come to the reason we were there....MIKA

His voice was the best I've ever heard it, so crisp and pure it went right through you, Over my shoulder actually had me in tears it was so beautiful. MIKA said about the King Singers.... "It's not often that I'm nervous about appearing on stage with other singers but here are 6 people who can REALLY sing" He needn't have worried, their voices melted together like chocolate and caramel. They complimented each other perfectly. From the moment they started...... boom, boomba boom, boomba boom, boomba boom ba boomba as the intro to Grace Kelly we could tell we were in for a special night.

Kev managed to get a set list from the stage......

    Setlist.jpg

Sadly we didn't get the bonus track but the rest of the set list certainly made up for it.

It proved to be an inspired set with every song feeling just right for the occasion. Our personal highlights were By The Time, Over My Shoulder and Rain. Not sure if anyone has mentioned it but he actually did a one handed version of the MFC rain twinkly fingers movement thingy (as seen on Jools Holland) and smiled at the audience as he did it. A big WELL DONE to Jemmalee who originally came up with it, and a big thank you to MIKA himself for the feedback, it was a lovely moment among many lovely moments last night.

The meet and greet went well, there were only 40 people there (we counted) but we were worried that he might rush off as most those waiting were huddled very tightly around the stage door and it might have looked a little intimidating to him coming out but we need not have worried, people were very respectful and generally waited their turn, but more importantly they moved to one side once they had seen him and made room for others waiting. Our patience was rewarded, we managed to get our album promo signed (and he even put a little upside down heart shaped tear on his pic...

    Album_Promo.jpg

Apologies if the 2 images posted are not showing...Boomspeed is playing up a little today but they will appear eventually

Kev recorded By The Time and the link is here...

The quality really doesn't do it justice, but thought you might still like to see it anyway.

That's about it for now, very tired but on a wonderful high. If I think of anything else to add I will do so later.

    A VERY happy Jules

    xx

  8. I'm hoping to make it down there. Look forward to meeting a few people AND hopefully Mika for the first time.

It seems everyone has had a Mika experience apart from me. I'll live in hope.

Sorry to hear you've been under the weather Shari :huglove: Will Brian be accompanying you? This gig is going to be amazing (and just the tonic you need eh :wink2:)

See you all tomorrow (got to work until 3.30pm booooo ) - can't flipping wait though :woot_jump:

Oooooo and AWESOME shoesies MIKA !!

  9. Also the whole painkiller talk is kinda worrying me a bit. He may well not even be taking any painkillers anymore, and not all types of painkillers are the "dangerous" type if you know what I mean, so I think that we may be getting a bit ahead of ourselves here with all this worry, and talking ad nauseam about him being on meds, etc. We all worry about him, but maybe it's not the best idea to keep posting that he's probably on meds and out of it, considering how fast things spread on the net and how often they are twisted :dunno: Just my opinion :wink2:

 EXACTLY !! (Thank you for being the voice of reason!)

Considering he didn't have a live audience (or us fans) to feed off I thought this version of Rain was wonderful and I'm loving the 'unstructured' look of tousled hair and casual wear :swoon:

  10. ...Last weekend I posted how sad :emot-sad: it was that HMV were already selling TBWKTM for £6.99 (even thought it was released less than 2 months ago) but now they're selling the album for the absolute bargain price of £4.99 :yikes:

That's surely a reasonably priced Christmas pressie for people to give eh?! :newyear: Fingers crossed sales will go up as a result of this mad price drop and maybe MIKA will win some new fans...
