  1. why? i like it, really. you sing really good. sometimes the piano is too loud, you'd need a microphone. are you playing on yourself?

    :thumb_yello: very good work!!

yep, It's done with the microphone on my computer, but that's not a very professional thing :roftl:

I tried to play the piano a quiet as possible, but still...

thanks for your feedback! I appreciate your honesty!:thumb_yello:

  2. No matter what he may say, I really don't think he is at ease with the fame he now has.

Well he will just have to deal with it :wink2:

Yep, that's indeed what it looks like.

He's done everything for the world to get to know him. And that worked. We know him, well, his music.

As for the fame... that's indeed a whole different story. For someone who was once hated and bullied by so many people, it must be strange and maybe even terrifying to be so loved suddenly.

The only place were he seems at ease (well, apart from when he's with friend, family ofcourse) is when he's on stage. And also when he's with fans (I think)

I think he just underestimated the impact of fame on his personal life!

  3. Thanks for posting :flowers2:

...as for the shyness, I have to say to me he comes across quite shy and somewhat self-conscious on TV shows these days. Even more than he did at the spring appearances when he did that massive promo all over the globe

    yes!! indeed!

I thought I was the only one thinking that!

There are no new interviews whatsoever, even though he has won so many prices and had so many nominations for his album.

  4. Mmmmmmm. I'd just like to say that some stuff is technically up on the internet that should VERY MUCH not be made publicly available, and to anyone with any common sense "well it's online already" should be no excuse.

But I would think everyone who comes across it knows it for what it is.

I know. I was playing devil's advocate. I said the opposite in my next sentence.

  5. I agree with you. Yes he does mess up sometimes, and we can't always tell what the lyrics are in certain songs, but it shows that the guy is human... and human as he is... he gets things wrong. But at least it's not like some of the so-called live acts, where they stop singing, and the song carries on without them.

I thought his performance on Jools Holland was his best ever, and certainly, after a week where he had been reffered to as "Mika The Squeaker, with no oniginality", he showed everyone how original he is, and he showed how versatile his voice is!!! Now LICM is at number 4 in the chart!! That is amazing and I doubt it's ever been done before.

So if he said chicken, good for him!!!

    Well done Mika!!!!

    :punk: :punk: agreed!

  6. This is what I do for LT:

    B----------------------E-Fis

I've been crying for so long

    B----------------------E-Fis

Fighting tears just to carry on

    A---------E-----------Fis-------B-------E-Fis

But now, but now, it's gone away

    Bm--------------------A------

Hey girl why can't you carry on

    E----------------------Fis

Is is cause you're just like your mother

    And that's it basically!

I don't have the book myself, I learned it by ear, but it sounds good to me!

ps: I don't know if you use "Fis". It means the black key between F and G

  7. Mika said he thinks someone from the media was involved in setting up a Facebook account under his name and that they already had enough inside info to fool his friends into thinking it was him.

Sounds a bit paranoid but he obviously knows more about what happened than I do, so I'm guessing he's got reason to suspect this is the case and it's not just paranoia.

Who knows what these people get up to and if they're lurking on Facebook they're lurking here.

I saw the Facebook-account too. I believed it was an official one. That's awful. They were probably hoping hoping for information from his friends. And if you think about it, all joking aside:

he's JUST a guy singing songs about Lollipops! End of story. We tend to put him on a throne sometimes (well.... most of the time:naughty: ) but if you take a step back and look at it from a more distant position, he is ONLY a singer...

Press can ruine someones life. I mean, we have all done or said things that can be used against us somehow. Especially when you put them out of their context.

I hate this thought. Really, I do

  8. Actually things have been coming directly and indirectly through total strangers. That's why it's a bit alarming I guess. Even though I'm curious and one to gossip and Google, there are people out there who, through naivety or lack of interest, see even less reason to safeguard his privacy than we do.

it's just a very thin line.

If it's already on the internet, why not post it. It's not like you're hiding in his garden taking pictures yourself.

On the other hand: people like Perez don't take pictures themselves either, but I still think he posts some very intrusive pictures sometimes.

It's been said maaaaany times before: you have to censure (vocabulary?) yourself, but different people have different standards.

  9. But if people have been telling you things, is it because they think they can trust you with the information? That is really the only reason I might tell someone else.

I agree, also the big trap with the internet is that if you are persistant enough, you can find out all kinds of things.

yep indeed. That's a scary thought. Like, people have a Facebook account with a certain amount of information, they have a Flickr account with other things, same for Youtube, Myspace, msn,...

and if you're patient and clever enough (and if you have bad intentions) you can puzzle all these things together and learn A LOT about someone...

You just have to keep in mind that everything you put on internet might eventually be seen by basically everyone.

  10. No, that's pretty obvious. :naughty:

I've just been learning some things that really aren't any of my business.

    ok

don't want to sound judgemental (because I don't know what you are referring to) but I think that's a big trap with internet.

People tend to tell things because it's "not real" and they can just write things down without having to show their faces.

But anyway, don't want to be involved in things that I don't know the story behind

  11. Yes it's a judgement call and everyone draws the line in different places. The boundaries also move depending on where and with whom you discuss it.

I've had some contact and heard some things this week that have made me stop and think how much I want to share with other fans, publicly or privately. It's fine to speculate and gossip when you know that you don't actually know anything but if you happen to come across some more concrete information then it becomes your responsibility to contain it and make sure that it doesn't lead to any harm.

On the subject of some of Mika's fans knowing where he lives...he admitted it publicly so it's probably no shock to anyone that some of them happen to be MFCers. We can choose not talk about it, but I don't really see that it presents a problem. It's not private information, it's not news to us and it's not news to Mika.

Details of his address, the specifics of the house, etc. are a whole different matter and shouldn't be brought up on the forum and people would be wise to keep this information to themselves privately as well.

You mean the fact that's we're all over google?

  12. Last night, Mika appeared on tf1, one of the biggest french channels, and won the "disque d'or". He was up against big names (in france) such as johnny hallyday, calogero, rihanna, christophe maé,.. but he was the one to have sold the most albums!

He was fantastic as always, he started off the show by singing "relax" then ended it with "big girl (you are beautiful)

yaaaaay he won, i was so happy!!

    Hello!

    That's great news!

I see you're Belgian too? That's even better :wink2: Where are you from?

  13. now that "Is Naaaice!" borat.gif

    perfect angle,perfect pants,perfect color,perfect position

He dose have great legs, and I think I've had the discussion with Blue about how I like the "biceps femoris" (that's the scientific term we agreed upon)

it's the muscle on the backside of the leg

    l

Using such scientific terms makes you look less subjective.

like: "well doctor, looks like we're having an excellent example of a well-developped biceps femoris here" (with a British accent and a concentrated face)

  14. yep, i hear it, too. even if he doesn't say it - it is what it sounds like to my stupid little ears. (and so i voted for it.)

but actually i don't really care. but anyway - he has been mentioning that chicken-stuff before in (an) interview(s), so why shouldnt he put it in the song? of course it is a bit far fetched to think that mika sits at home, sees the lyrics and then decides to put the c-word in it. but anyway... according to the lyrics ruth posted in the hootenanny thread, the MFC-chicken-meaning might fit here - so why not?

here's an excellent example of that:

    http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=JxpMUV5bCsw

    check 0:36

    coincidence?

  15. I have voted ticket too. I agree with scut above, regarding what he actually sings, but I don't think he meant it to be chicken.

Also if you listen to some Grace Kellys, (live) he often says 'chello my baby'

Or that's what Jems and I hear anyway. Another thing, when he's live and says 'come on' it sometimes sounds like ch, so I just think he is prone to pronounce certain words in that way.

Yeah! He does that big time!

Especially in the beginning of Relax after the first time he sings the chorus. There's a small instrumental intermezzo and he al-ways screams:

    "che-mooo"
