I live in Belgium, my dad is a lawyer, my mum's a judge, I know the legal system well enough to say it's one of the cheapest in the world and no case could cost anyone the ridiculous amount of 30 000 euro.

So it's more than just a question of wanting their money back...

Now she's suiting them again, in front of a civil court... Universal wanted to play that game, and they might end up screwed.

Even if the legal system in Belgium is cheap, maybe Universal decided to fly in their corporate lawyers, from the UK, or even from the US... It might still have cost them an eye, then...

In my opinion, Mika is what he thinks that he must be. I'm not worried about it! I like Mika with short hair or with anything else!

hmmm, i remember a few months ago, a couple of pics of him sporting a tuxedo and a straight hairdo surfaced, and everybody was like "OMFG !!! Mika's gone !!!! Who is this guy looking like a NYSE trader ????"

And two days later he was back with messy hair and colourful t-shirts !!

I`m sorry, but I don`t think it is harsh at all. If someone sued me clearly for publicity, threatened to cancel one of my gigs and then decided that it wasn`t worth it, after getting all the free publicity and making me spend a lot of money on lawyers, I wouldn`t let it go. It's a matter of principles (and of course it would set a precedent).

i completely agree ! she should have thought twice before launching this attack, which was stupid, to begin with... and she didn't even manage to milk the visibility that this story offered her... and now she feels it's not worth it and just want everybody to forget about it and stay good friends... nonsense !!

Universal wants her to pay for the time and the money they spent/wasted on her case, and it's quite fair...

i agree that the amount of money they're asking for is huge, but they probably want to raise a clear "don't mess with us because we're big players" flag.. just in case other unknown artists want to try the same trick in the future.

my 2 cents : i think i remember, one of the first times he sang that song, he said it was actually a break-up song and it had be co-written with a girl. (i think it was Jodi Marr)... and he said something like "you can so tell that the second verse was written by a girl, because a man could never write something so complicated about a break-up"

Yup, the fact that he visits his sista who happens to be there is his own business, it's the PA that made me a tad bit uncomfortable... because even if he didn't mean it that way, the chinese authorities are likely to "interpret" any visit as an official support... well...

Having said that, the new do and the orange shirt make him look like an ubercute twelve years old...

well... i have to say i feel a bit strange about this... Of course everyone's entitled to have his own political views, and i'm not going to love mica's music any less even if his don't match mine... and obviously he's not getting involved in this olympic stuff.. but still... maybe it's not the best moment to make a public appearance in Beijing.. i dunno... maybe it's just me overreacting... what do you think ?

In addition to the sound issues, a lot of singers also like to play with the wire, hold it, swing the mic... I think Mika is one of them... A cordless mic makes you feel a little bit naked sometimes...

Mika in India was a joke but you MUST eat chips with your fingers !!!!

fries with mayo are gorgeous !!! but you have to eat them with your fingers, and if possible, in the middle of a fun fair, to fully appreciate them !!

i think the guy who did the remix added a lot of reverb/ "echo chamber" which allows the voice to sound really "full" without the harmonics... if it makes sense...

i've been looking around the net for some info, i do practize some kind of hindouist methods myself and i wanted to know more about mika's retreat since i found this amazing etc.etc. ayway i found this blog...i'm not sure if i understand correctly, if those people are paparazzi or fans but anyway (god knows how) they knew about mika's indian travel and they reserved a place in the same^place of pilgrimage... i waont post the name of the blog or anything because they have a lot of stolen pics of more or less good quality and this is to me a total violation of privacy...perfect piece of trash blog, those people are mad anyway, here is the the picture who is to my opinion the less private, because it's outside and you can see other people, he is busy practising......i just hope (i'm naive) that no one will find their stupid blog) and that those pics wont be in the mirror or anywhere else...poor mika:thumbdown:

Still, having been to Rishikesh, i can tell you for sure that it's not the best place to retreat. It's full of tourists !!!!! No way he's gonna find a hotel with running water without at least of couple of londoners backpackers in it !!
