  1. ooooh, count me on...I'll be there! Lebanese sounds fantastic. My vote is for there. :thumb_yello:

    Soo...

Who's in London on Sunday the 7th who would like to meet for supper? What time works for everyone, and what part of London? Islington-ish, to be near where most people are staying? Or should we do that Lebanese place in South Kensington that Bab, Sara, and a few others recommend?

Aaaahhh, I'm getting so excited! :aah:

  2. Y'all made me giggle so hard that I snorted. C'mon, I can't come on here at work and pretend that I'm working when y'all are crackin me up!!:roftl:

OMG...I love the SYTYCD image. Awe, what memories. All because my remote control was broken and I was MADE to watch him. I was so pissed off for about 2 seconds and now look. I'm still here and still rewinding Mika! I should really thank the Network for having him on there. I wonder if I would know who he was now if he hadn't been on there?

  3. It's funny going back and reading your first post. Boy, was I serious about not missing another L.A. performance. When I wrote this, I had no idea that I would have been jetting off to Glasgow to see y'all and Mika either

The best part..I'm still looking forward to being part of this MIKA WORLD! :wub2: MFCers are the best.

Okay, I've been a fan now for about 3 weeks...would have been a fan longer but somehow, he was off my radar!! Not sure how that happened..but it did. So, I first saw Mika on "So you think you can Dance." I record the show every week and when I saw Mika, I started fast forwarding. I know, slap my hand but, I did it to every act! But, my fast forward wasn't working...so, I was made to watch him. All I can say about that is...."Thank you God!" I was completely mesmorized and ended up REWINDING about 10 times to watch him over and over. :naughty: I'm totally Mika obsessed now. ..not too many artists can do that to me. Now, I can't wait to see him in the States. I'm so bummed that I missed his performances in L.A! It won't happen again!! Looking forward to being part of this MIKA WORLD!! YEAH!!

    Charlotte

  4. Oh...my! Too much riddleling  in that paragraph! :naughty:

Did I just count that you have been to 16 shows? My 4 seem so little. LOL!!

Ok, NOW I get it. She was quoting (intention wise) your quote, but in fact she quoted my post. Hence why I thought (and she thought afterwards) that she was quoting me.

I never said Ex-Lax or had even heard about it :roftl:. Mistery resolved :naughty:

  5. Yes, he was on my doorstep this time. :wub2: But, I would like to be on his doorstep next time (in a manner of speaking) LOL!!

I do feel quite lucky..but, he is my new drug and I must have my fix again really soon. :wink2:

But you have already seen him you know? On your doorstep (in a manner of speaking) you lucky josser.

I did hear on the radio that it's ever so bad to find like-minded people on the internet. It gives validity to your craziness apparently

  6. Oh, we've been figured out. :naughty: Yes, We've got him in handcuffs and chains now...locked away in the MFC cell. We'll only let him out on good behaviour. :naughty:

    Wow!

When I joined this site I foolishly thought this was a fan site for Mika.

Now "some" of you are telling him who he sees in public & how they & he should be dressed??

    Are You Serious?

Is Mika a Prisoner here now???

    WTF?

    Too Funny!

  7. :winner_first_h4h::winner_first_h4h:

Isn't she married to her music? Is Mika her music? :naughty:

And this is, after her surgery. Have you seen the 'before' pics of GG? :naughty:

Anyway, I think that we're missing the point here. It's very obvious that we should accept GaGa because Mika is marrying her.

I mean, come on, it's just plain obvious: They go out together, she comes to meet his folks, he is wearing a huge rock on his left ring finger....It's pretty darn clear.

She even hesitated to answer the "boyfriend" question on TV because it's boyfriend no more: now it's a fiance.

Maybe we need a "We love you, Gaga Penniman" thread, and to make her a welcome present? A nice little project where we can show our appreciation, and that we welcome her to the Mika family? If Mika is going to be her husband, we may as well embrace the Gaga...

    :roftl::roftl:

    Anyone???

  8. I guess I could always start collecting robots and art as my hobby instead of singing. :naughty:

Anywhooo...I'm no Susan Boyle and I'm getting too old to break into the music industry. Although, singing is how I met most of my celeb friends. :thumb_yello:

I found your karaoke story very interesting Charlie. Maybe you should give it another shot, you just don't ever know unless you try....

  9. BINGO! ;)

    :thumb_yello:

Yes, I understood that, too. I also think that her options are slightly limited. She is not as pretty as Katy Perry, for example, who can absolutely wear anything without looking trashy... So Gaga plays with this image of looking like a tart. It's the number of photos in the magazines that count not the picture caption:cool:
  10. I've often thought about it; however, I sort of dislike the music industry. It really is the most unglamorous place to be. Unfortunately, things haven't changed that much. Yes, there are more avenues to get your music out there. But, the Record Companies still try to mould you and they OWN you. I'm sure Mika would agree.

Of course, I work for the Government now...and, it's the same story with a lot less money. :naughty: But, I was trying to make a point and not make it about me. Gaga does what she does for attention. It gets her name out there....her record company is loving every minute of this. We sure are talking about her now. It's working for her.

    Thank you for the story..:thumb_yello:

I' d say that was unfortunate timing. I think the key to your story is that it was 1997. It wouldn't have been the same 15 years before and won't be the same 15 years later, either, as now people can discover good music via the internet. I strongly believe opportunities are now there for more musicians - see LittleBoots, for example.

Even though artists still need to make a lot of compromises if they want to be mega-successful, the opportunity is there for musicians.

Artists surely need their own marketing plans ready, too but probably they are more free to choose how they'd execute it .

SO WHY NOT GIVE IT ANOTHER CHANCE:wink2:

  11. You know, being in L.A, I do have a few celeb friends that I occassionally hang out with. Yes, it took me months of earning their trust before I would start telling them certain things. My favorite saying now is, "don't go all Celebrity on me...or, I'm ditching your @ss! I don't put up with the Celeb behavoir. When they act like a celeb, I'll start acting like a FAN. It works two ways. We all have our moments.

So, yes...I bet when Gaga showed up at his house, his first reaction was probably..."Oh, Brother." To put it nicely. I mean, it's not like he could back out of the date or tell her what to wear. However, if they hung out more, I'm sure he would probably tell her a few things. :naughty: That is, if we even understand Mika well. We may not. People do change in this business wether we like it or not. They have their set of peers that they hang out with like we do. It's a business and they too network.

I just know a few people that are really careful about their image and know certain people they need to avoid being seen with so their image isn't tarnished. No matter how nice that person is.

Oh, poor Mika...he just can't win with us. It's too bad that the Papparazzi had to put all this out there. It sucks for him. Staged or not.

  12. Okay, I did go out with one of my D list (A-lister in the 80's) celeb friends once who showed up in a ridiculous outfit and he had nose hairs coming out. I said, "Dude, I'm not going anywhere with you until you change out of those ridiculous clothes and trim those nose hairs. He was pissy with me. :naughty: But, he did change.

I don't care who you are, it's disrespectful to go out with someone in ridiculous clothes. And yes, it is attention seeking. OMG..am I really going here. I'm usually so good about not getting involved on here. But, who you hang out with is a reflection on you. Period.

It's one thing to be in your stage clothes on stage but when you take those stage clothes in a public setting, what did she expect....people would just look away and not stare. I'm a fan of Gaga's...but, this did seriously irritate me.

Mika is so sweet that I really don't see him appreciating her attitude if this really did happen at the restaurant.

    *rant over*

  13. Okay, here's my take...short and sweet.

    1. Mika is a brilliant artist.

    2. Lady Gaga is a brilliant artist...great voice.

Now, I have to say this.

In 1997, I was interviewed by a record company, who discovered me singing karaoke. I was really nervous about the interview because they said that they were interested in signing me. I met them at a restaurant and I brought a friend with me for support.

During the interview, they asked me the following questions:

    1. Record Company: Who do you see yourself being like?

ME: I would like to think that I could be me.

    2. Record Company: Who are you? Who could you see yourself being like?

    ME: I hope myselft.

    3. Record Company: What do you think of Madonna?

Me: I like her but, I couldn't dress like her or do the type of publicity stunts that she does.

    4. Record Company: Why not?

Me: It's not who I am. I'm a little bit shy in person, but not when I'm singing.

    5. Record Company: You need an image like that.

Me: Why? Why do I have to be like Madonna. Can't we find another route.

    6. Record Company: Madonna is very successful at what she does and we find this type of behaviour to be very lucrative for this business.

Me: Oh! Well, I'm not sure what to do.

    7. Record Company: We need you to go home and think about all this and get back with us.

    Me: Okay

ME NOW: I work for the Government. Too chicken to be like Madonna. Guess I have standards. So, I admire Mika for sticking up to who he wanted to be.

So, i understand why Gaga does what she does in her off time. I could never do that. It's all about publicity for her. I don't think she thought of Mika much when she wore this outfit.

I hate record companies. When Mika wrote "Grace Kelly" he was SPOT ON!!

  14. Oh, I would love to really think that. I WISH! :wub2: I love how he manages to give eye contact to everyone. But, one of my favorite moments when he was leaving the stage was when he was slapping hands on the way down.

I know you got some good hand action. :naughty:

I loved when he stopped in front of me, took both my hands, intertwined his fingers in mine and said HELLO. I was like...... Then, I was like..."Did that just really happen?" :blush-anim-cl::wub2:

He was looking at you for almost the whole gig! Amazing!
  15. Awe, he was, huh? Yeah, it's cute. You know, if I had on 3 layers of shirts, there is no way that I could even begin to close that jacket. LOL

Thank you Charlotte!! You're a star. I didn't get any pics because I was taking video of the new songs and just trying to soak it up during the rest.

This is my favourite because he's speaking to me. :bleh:
