That's right! It dosen't look silly at all -- HOW does he get away with that? Just goes to show how amazingly beautiful he truly is! Like you said -- he has it all wrapped up into one -- SO NOT FAIR to the rest of the world! He is TALL think and his bone structure ah-mazing! Oh and his nose is freakin H U G E -- beautimus... still HUGE!

are you sure you are talking about his nose?:roftl:

  2. H O N E S T L Y ----

I don't think there is a 'look' of his that I wouldn't like! Cause I have never seen the man when he was NOT just simply  to me! When I look at him all I see is :chkn: which -- YES -- gets me a naughty room all to myself -- so I can be in the naughty corner with ALL of my naughty thoughts :das:

Agree with you, i think he can seriously get away with any look... not because he is chickeny... but he is so stylish with very good figure/bone structure that he manages to look good in any "look"... and it is kind of fun seeing him in a new style... something unexpected... he is quiet daring with the things he wears (not many pop stars can get away with colorful plastic accessories over their neck, arms, and all over their clothes) - but he does and it doesn't look silly or childish...:thumb_yello:

  3. ..are you SURE t h a t is why :roftl:

    MIKA IN BEIRUT

Beiteddine Festival in collaboration with Baalbeck Festival & NRJ - July 27

    MIKA

Mika wants to set the bar for fantastical, 3 dimensional pop at his own height. Which is over 6’ and statuesquely sculptured, since you ask.

Welcome to his world: where some louche dilettante is throwing the greatest party in the universe and everyone is invited under his very own cherry moon. Mika is a songwriter, performer, producer and orchestrator and he has unleashed his debut album to the world. Both astonishingly musical and profoundly thoughtful, his tunes combine a heady euphoric rush with darker unexpected elements: daytime melodramas and night-time tales of love, loss, abandonment, hope and happiness. They all jostle together for attention, each one a pure pop golden nugget.

Mika is a true young internationalist.

Born in Beirut in the middle of the 80s, Mika’s family soon found themselves having to move to Paris at the height of the war. When his father was subsequently taken hostage and held at the American embassy in Kuwait the family eventually settled in London. An inevitably turbulent experience for our young hero, he found himself bereft, lost in the chasm of a displaced upbringing. “It was the combination of moving as well as a horrible time I had at school in the first few years of living in London that lead me to forget how to read and write, and stop talking for a little while. I was pulled out of school for over six months; in order to sort my self out and find a new school. This is when music really became important. It got me back on my feet.” He says now that by the age of 9 he knew that songwriting was his destiny. The electric performances that would win over some of the most hardened musical ears on the planet would come later.

A self-taught piano virtuoso, gymnastic vocalist and born entertainer, Mika has music in his bones and at a prodigiously young age he was ready to show out and let go. Mika wasn’t hunched over a radio under his bedclothes or seduced by the glitz of "Top of the Pop’s" on the TV screen when he had his first performance awakenings. Instead, he was catapulted onto the stage of a Richard Strauss opera at 11. After near complete social exclusion at school - “I wish I could say I was a self-imposed loner but it was imposed on me” - this was a life he fell in love with, instantly: “It was a magical world that you could live in. A parallel universe for people that is illusory and enchanting and amazing.”

For the last 12 years of his life he has followed his maxim of a parallel universe to its natural conclusion and is now presenting his dynamic, idiosyncratic and unashamedly personal debut album. “I grew up listening to every thing from Joan Baez and Dylan, to Serge Gainsbourg and Flamenco. My musical tastes have become more eclectic as I’ve got older, but I'm always going back to great artist songwriters, people who make great records to their own vision. Prince, Harry Nillson, Elton John, even Michael Jackson. These people make amazing pop records that couldn’t be performed by anybody else and that’s what I always wanted to do.”

  5. This has been posted before in "News" section. I think it is worth adding it to gigs to get a clear idea who is attending and give people a thread to discuss where to meet, where to buy tickets and to write reports.

    Mika

    Martyr's Square

Mika is the new genius of pop music. Born in Beirut to a Lebanese mother and living in London, he writes his own lyrics and music. He is often compared to Robbie Williams, Scissor Sisters and Freddy Mercury. His first album «Life in Cartoon Motion» introduces such songs as « Grace Kelly», « Relax, Take it Easy» and « Love Today» and has beaten all records in Europe and the United States. His music is fabulous. His four-octaves voice drives the crowd wild.

  7. Hi hun!!! So nice to talk to you!! How are you? Is all fine? I miss you, you know, wish I could see you soon. I'm fine, on Easter holiday, so quiet and relaxed for once.

am enjoying my easter holiday as well.. I so needed the long weekend..

    :thumb_yello:

all is well here, I think am going to the beach tomorrow.. too lazy to do anything more active

  8. I was avoiding the crowd *waves hello*

    hello...

I know.. I saw you guys standing on the side next to Luke's corner..

I actually spoke to you briefly... I saw Mika the first 5 minutes when he came next to the bar (I was standing there to get a drink) and he started his toast... before the crowd got bigger...

when it did.. I moved away.. and started socializing with the others as it was almost impossible to even hear what he was saying ...

I actually asked you politely to take a picture of me and Luke... I hate to say that.. but I am not even a fan of Luke.. and ended up deleting the picture

    :blush-anim-cl: :blush-anim-cl:

I did it out of boredom.. as there was absolutely nothing to do while waiting for "the others" to calm down...

I have to admit though.. I met lots of nice people (those who were standing on the side avoiding the crowd).. and I ended up talking to cherisse and Sarenayd

  9. Hi Racha, read your message in the other thread and I agree with you.

I know we Oldlings have our fantasies about Mika, but I think we are mature enough to know that's just what they are - fantasies.

I just don't understand the mentality of the "I want Mika's babies" brigade.

    OH THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

it's good to know that there are many who agree with me

    :wub2:

feels weird to be associated with "them" under the same roof if you know what I mean..

by the way, I met so many of you guys during the after "party".. you guys were standing on the side close to where Luke was standing (I think it was jemmalee) ... which is were I stood with others avoiding the crowd..

    :bleh:

  10. This is a first for me.. expressing myself to strangers... it all started after I wrote a reply to a friend I met on the 28th gig.. and I realized that it is such a pity I can write that in a private PM and not in a thread.. where am sure there might be many others who feel the same way... Please have an open mind.. this is not a personal attack on anyone.. it is just me expressing myself.. please don’t see this as me trying to change anyone’s view or level of love to their favorite artist .

Seriously, thank god for meeting some of you guys in London, otherwise, I would have felt so weird being part of the MFC..... although I was a fan since last Jan, I did not feel the need to be part of the MFC.. glad I eventually subscribed... after all I met lovely people because of it..

Ok, now.. now that I have ventilated and got that out of my system .. sorry if what I said might offend anyone.. I just needed to get it out of my system...

  11. Hello

Thanks for the clip..looks interesting but I am afraid my Youtube is deciding to play up this morning and won't sing to me!

try to check it out later... am in the office and shouldn't be doing this

    :naughty:
