it is true or not. Poor Fred is trying to find out wtf is going on!!!!!

Congratulations, Wendy! That is so exciting for you! All that hard work you did!
It is a very exciting day today! I got a call from Mika's management this morning and it looks like I am going to be a lollipop girl in Chicago!!!!!
Excellent...that's so cute!
enjoy the show
how did you manage to do that?
-
Good evening - a text from two members at the gig in NYC - says
Jerry just came out and told them WE are now the Official FanClub!!!
Waiting for confirmation or something from Fred!!!

Hmm not really. I liked them, but not that much to be a real fan.
I had a sort of thing for Falco though. Not for the creep he played in the Jeanny video, but I liked him very much in Rock me Amadeus.
I LOVED THAT SONG! although couldn't understand a word other than "rock me amadeus" part
now, I really have to go...
night night everyone

............which leads me to my third crush (after David Cassidy and Adam Ant).................Marc Bolan!!!
I fell in love with him before I found out how small he was, but by then it was too late!
you liked adam ant? hmmmm...
anyone for Depech Mode?
-
Magne... Not bad either.
I've never seen them live... I found a performance on MSN Music, they did an open air performance in Kiel (Germany) last year (or in 2006). I hope they will do a sort of reunion tour like the Police and the Cure.
BTW only 2 months after today and I will see the Cure! :punk:
Magne is not bad at all... super cute.. they are very good live.. but i think the only reason we went to the concert back then wasthe lack of other celebrities coming to town... not many choices..
I would die to see The Police.. I saw Sting about 4 years ago in Baalbek, he was stunning..
THE CURE! Loved them! I loved the whole "new wave" era..
OMG!I laughed out loud when I saw that! Sorry, Shari, but it is really funny!
didn't want to say anything... but am LMAO.. sorry!

i had loads of posters on my walls (i think i had pink wallpaper but i didn't see much of it) i had aha, duran duran, bon jovi, nik kershaw, europe, george michael...................but not bros, i also had the lyrics to songs so i could learn them
i love 60's music, i watched a film the other day with herman's hermits in about a greyhound. i didn't know they made a film
i may as well have been lol
I saw Nik Kershaw 2 months ago in Dubai.. he did not age well.. almost unrecognizable...
was a big fan of Europe and of course an endless fan of George Michael..
no one mentioned U2?
-
Oh no, I've just discovered that I don't fancy him at all now!
He reminds me of Patrick Swayze (sp?) who is completely not my type!
One teenage fantasy shattered...........
EWWWWWWWWW... patrick swayze and his "dirty dancing" movie... it was sooooo HUGE back then when I was in school...
looking back... YUK!
-
I remember Peter Noone, AND all the others!!
Mine was Alan Price
You have got such weird taste!!!I have heard of Hermans Hermits, but have no idea what Peter Noone looks like.
Noddy Holder, Brian Connolly and Roger Taylor are all odd choices........................and then Mika.
Strange. Very Strange!
I feel horrible! I don't know most of the names you guys mentioned!
-
i tend to repeat myself...but my first and only crush (before Mika ) was DAVID BOWIE!
my and my friend used to listen to his records in the dark, weeping silently to his voice....oh god!
 Maybe I was too young to like him back then.. but I grew to appreciate his music..
Now we're owning up to Morten Harket crushes, I'll admit that although it wasn't a proper crush, I did keep a secret photo of him on the inside of my wardrobe door. I didn't put it on the outside because I didn't want people to know that I liked him.I used to like Magne (the other guy from A-HA) I remember they played live in Lebanon in the mid-90's ... and yet their concert wassold out (I think Samatha Fox was in the same concert.. if my memory serves me right)
-
So young to have been a Bros fan!
.....and so young to have known what was cool!
not thaaaat young.. but definetly too cool to admit publicly that I liked them!
i think mine was simon le bon from duran duran. unfortunately he hasn't aged as well as mortenNow, that's a band that no one was ashamed of admiting being a fan of! My sister was a HUGE fan...
Try me!!Please tel... I just admited I liked BROS!
-
I missed the last 7 pages of this thread - are we now talking about having a crush on popstars?
My very first crush was Morten Harket (A-ha) in 1985, I was only 11.
I must admit he is quite 'well-conserved' - and turning 50 next year.
OH MY GOD! A-HA!!!! well, at least they weremore cool than BROS!
the whole thing started with me posting a small message about how weird it has been in the past 2 days in some of the threads.. just discussing the level of obsession.. in my opinion reach an unhealthy level with a "few" people out there..
and then we started remembering when we were teens, and what type of crushes we had with bands/artists back then
MARTIN HARKET! wow... a long walk down memory lane
-
How old are you (if that's not too personal a question)?
I'm guessing from the bros thing about 36-37.
not personal at all.. I am 31
-
I remember Bros, but only because my younger sister was in love with them. I thought that they were repulsive (sorry!), but that's probably just my age!
that's exactly why I kept it a secret for a loooong time! only when i hot my 30's I am now comfortable declaring my teen crush

So.................Mika will not be my boyfriend
OUPS! I hate to break the news! but I don't think so babes
then again.. maybe I should have asked Mr. Clooney for his phone number after our long discussion over "Darfur"
:roftl:
:roftl:
omg! i had forgotten about them, they were the ones who you had to like secretly or your friends made fun of you (or was that just my school?)
I think it was a global phenomina.. I never shared my facination with the GOSS brothers with my friends.. didn't want them to pick on me..
was too cool to admit it!
-
Hi Robi and everyone else.
That show was the very day that I joined the MFC!!!!
My Mika-birthday.
Love your baby photo Pooh!
....and I agree with you racha about some people being waaaaay to obsessive. I know that we all joke about how bad we are here in the oldlings, but we're not in the same league as some of the people out in the other threads!
being naughty is fun... as I said, I love it here...
I love it when people get what I mean..
-
When I think back to the days when I was infatuated with The Bay
City Rollers, had there been a forum like this, I would probably have
asked questions like that!!!! I was 14, and thought
I was very grown-up, but had no concept of privacy etc!!
It's not the lack of understanding of ones privacy that made me uncomfortable... I think it was more this la la land of actually believing that he is more than just a entertainer/song writer/performer and talented artist
leaving fantasies aside (I mean when I met George clooney I was having a chicken scenario in my head) but I did not believe that I will talk him into being my boyfriend.. or get his personal phone number for personal reasons..
-
i think she was just very young and didn't realise what she was doing, she also asked me some personal questions too (not on here) but i think she just didn't know it wasn't right
Hmmm... I don't think I wasthat weird when I was young (I know that sounds conceited)
I mean, I was in love with this silly boy band called "BROS" don't know if you guys remember them (the blond goss twins).. had their poster on the wall.. collected their music..
