  1. I had a very good idea: I wanted to make video's of the entire concert in Paradiso and share them. New camera, no photo's/video's on it, full battery. Must be a good start. :thumb_yello:

When I started recording the camera told me that I could record 1 hour 46 minutes, that must be enough, I thought. Unfortunately the battery didn't last that long. In the middle of popular song, it stops. What to do next? I think about it during 'Big girls' and took my phone. Let's see how long that one lasts. Lucky me, I made it till the end of the concert :wink2:

The next day when I was watching my video's I was very disapponted. The sound quality is not what I expected. The chats of Mika are pretty well, the music is not the quality like other video's in this thread. I decided to share these vids anyway. So watch the chats, look at the beautiful choir, the band & MIKA, but most of all sing along yourself, imagining you're in a Karaoke Bar or so, you know the lyrics ;-)

    Enjoy.... I hope....

  2. my son's friend was there also. i loved it & said it was the best concert ever!

Can't agree more! And our own Julie2116 got her blue Sgt Pepper blazer signed on stage and hugged Macca!!!!!!!!!!

Was she the "girl who got hugged by a Beatle"? I've sent her an email via mfc. I hope she takes contact with a Beatles reporter I mentioned.

I've seen lots of concerts, 5 by Paul mcCartney, but his last concert in Arnhem, Holland, 9 december 2009 was my best concert ever, of anyone. I was pretty close to the stage in front of Brian Ray, lots of friends around me. And then 2 hours 45 minutes of the best show ever. So great.

  3. I'm gonna try and write a review of this gig and stuff ... I'm gonna try anyway ... it's taken awhile ... so please read or skip ... you might want to skip :aah:

    ...........

... I got a hug ... I got a hug off of many people that night ... but I don't really remember most ... travelled back to Monie's and went to bed ... didn't sleep obviously ... Monie ... was a star ... and payed for an early flight home for me ... cos' the last thing I wanted was to be in Amsterdam now til' 7.00pm ... Just wanted family round me ... that's it ... really ... I didn't take any videos ... or take any pictures ... I wasn't ... really .... there ...

You're very brave writing this. I got tears in my eyes. Everybody in front row knew very quickly, we couldn't believe this. And you couldn't go anywhere else than being at this concert, which should have been great for you. Now it wasn't. Now it was the worst day of your life. I'm glad you could take an early flight next morning (tnx Monie).

I wish you and your family all the best getting through this.

  4. By the way, we have a little story to tell! After the gig we too were waiting outside for Mika to come! And I hoped to see Imma and Jimmy, for I had stroopwafels for them! Before Jimmy came out I had asked John if J and I were coming out of the building. John answered with yes, they'll be there! Jimmy came out, but as you all know he didn't stay too long. We were standing on the far end of the line, shouted at him, but I don't think he heard!

After Mika's leaving I spoke John again and told him about the stroopwafels and asked him if he could take them inside and give them to Jimmy and Imma. Lovely as he is, he responded with asking me: "Sure I can take them, but don't you want to give it to them your self? With how many are you? Follow me!

On our way in I had a lovely conversation with John. Inside he braught us upstairs and there they were! All bandmembers.

Jimmy said hi to us with 3 kisses and a hug, Imma did the same! And they both liked their little gift.

After a while Cherese and David joined us. Jimmy made some pictures, everyone signed the scrapbook of Annemaaike and Jimmy showed us his photo's of Breakfast on his I-Phone. And after say 20 minutes we said goodbeye and went outside again!

This was a perfect ending of a lovely day! Thank you all for being there, it made my day!

 You were so lucky !!!

We saw Mika leave but I wondered where the rest of the band was. But they were still inside.

  5. How is it possible that other people (like you:wink2:) seem to know way more things then I do? How on earth do you know that Mika was in Amsterdam on Thursday already? Where you on 'kroegentocht' with him?:naughty:

Yes I was. He called me to join him to some pubs :naughty: Very nice fella he is. We had so much fun. :aah:

Miek and Ingie and I were in Antwerp where he told us he would be heading to Amsterdam after the meet and great :wink2:.

Alexander: did you take pictures Friday? Would you like to contribute to the Q book (work title :bleh:)?

Okay then. Miek told me what he had said in Antwerp. :wink2:

I just took some pictures in the grand cafe. about 5 pieces. I will send them to you when I'm home.

  6. if he sings about sunshine we will probably get a major heat wave :teehee:

Yes, you're probably right. Maybe if he just mention the word sun is enough to get just a little sun and let's say 20 degrees :naughty:

    Yes, his battery was empty.

Just bought the AD to read the whole artikel.

At the end they wrote: the highlight was in the closing song: a buried under a balloon version of Lollipop. For Mika himself broke the party apart when he was back in his favorite part of The Netherlands: the Amsterdamse Jordaan. ''There I know lots of fun pubs. With who I go? Alone. At least then you meet new people.''

I hope the translation is understandable.

But does this mean he went to pubs after the gig? Because he looked so tired and the next night he had a gig in Luxembourg.

But if it is true, we know what we have to do after a next Mika gig in Amsterdam. Gonna party in the Amsterdamse Jordaan. Maybe we will run into Mika then :naughty:

He was already in Amsterdam on thursday :biggrin2:. So I guess he visited some pubs thursday night.

Wait! What time was that? Pretty late I guess, since the show already started one hour too late. oh well, I didnt wait there for 2hrs, but okay.. Im still curious, how long did you wait there outside? just,.. next to the entrance?

It was past midnight. 0:30? So about 1,5 hours after the show. And yes you have to be patient if you want to see him, but in the end you WILL see him :fisch: "I see you"

Guess I should stop being lazy and get on with my report.

    ......

I'd just like to thank some people who made this trip for me. Biekje, without whom I would never have got there, Ingie, who did wonders with the make up, and got me looking like a crazy cat, Miek and Alexander, who took me into their lovely home and gave me a bed for the night and breakfast next morning, I miss Murphys friendly little face:wub2:, Monie for her amazing flashmob choreography, which I finally got the hang of when doing it in a group of people! Fred for being the great organiser that he is and John for being the amazing man he is getting thing sorted for us on his end, Viv for helping me get the costume finished in the nick of time, Laurel for the programme, you didn't have to considering the circumstances, I wasn't expecting you to!:huglove::flowers2: Jazzy and Vicky for being Jazzy and Vicky, you guys always make gigs fun for me and I never tire of hanging out with you, you ROCK!

And all the other MFCers to numerous to mention, who it's always a pleasure to be at a gig with:thumb_yello:

And obviously Mika, without whom there would be no show, I hope I can continue to make you laugh, always happy to feed your strange sense of humour:wink2:

You're welcome. You were a nice, lovely guest :thumb_yello:. And a great report. Thanx !

    Mika lost in Amsterdam

LONDON (hihi lol :teehee:)- The concert singer Mika last weekend gave the HMH, started too late. He had become lost during a quest for a Woonwinkel (furniture store) on the Prinsengracht.

The AD reports that the singer had just set off and soon became completely lost. His phone was empty and he could not find losrijdende (free) taxi. Eventually, someone called him a taxi, but the Amsterdam traffic was such that he was far too late in the HMH was. According to his many fans made the spectacular show anything but okay.

Too late? He started 21:00, right on time :thumb_yello:

Funny google: Amsterdam is translated by London :naughty:. I didn't change that in the translation.

  8. Do you remember 2008? Mika had a new song called 'rain'. After that we had rain for weeks.

    :badmood:

When Mika did some tv and radioshows in december 2009 he did 'let it snow'. After that we had a terrible snowy mess for weeks.

I suggest our weatherman Mika should write a song about SUN. Or cover 'let the sunshine in'. Especially with all these outdoor festivals coming up it's a good idea.

    :groupwave:

  9.

Thanks a lot for this lovely picture of the 3 girls together.

I have to say another thing about the gig. I didn't like the way the guys who put the dragon on stage were dressed: they wore woollen hats (in Dutch:bivakmutsen). I thought it was quite scary I must say. I'm sorry but they looked like criminals. Why was that necessary?

Yes, the hats were terrible and scary. But I know why they did it. They're black so no one notices them on stage. First of all we're not blind and can see them perfectly, especially the people at (almost) first row, like me. Secondly they had short sleeves so you can see skin, everybody can see that, even the people in the back of the venue. Maybe they are shy??

Queueing was cold and great and I was being an awesome facepainter. At the drug store they thought I was pretending to be Lady Gaga and we ended up joking about it all day:roftl:

    ..........

It was an amazing night and you could tell Mika adored the Alice theme. And it was even more special for me to be on stage, because I wasn't picked by mama p. but I was PERSONALLY CHOSEN by the man himself to be on that stage which made it even more special!

    Next adventure....PINKPOP!

Thanks for your very special on stage report. :thumb_yello: Loved it. You're a crazy girl and I like that :biggrin2:

I think Mika had a bad cold last friday. It looked like he couldn't handle all the high notes and at the m&g he was holding his neck a lot. I think he rushed because he didn't want it even worse standing in the cold rain.

Thanks everybody for all these lovely pictures and nice reports. Gets me back to last friday :biggrin2:

  10. Don't mess with a white rabbit :naughty:. It was lovely meeting you again :wub2:.

Interesting subject. For me the murdering of the band and himself doesn't have a higher level artistic meaning. It's just Mika playing around. And about being happy when someone says something sad, well, things aren't usually black or white, so for me the (sometimes) sad lyrics on the happy music are just 2 sides of the same coin. During a gig I'm usually quite happy (tho maybe excited is a better word :bleh:).

Being there yesterday with all the MFC'ers was huge part of the fun yesterday. I think Mika and his band were responsible for 50 % of it, and the MFC for the other 50 :thumb_yello:.

The white rabbit is actually sweet :blush-anim-cl:, until you touch her Mika stuff :boxed:

    :biggrin2:

Q-ing was definitly 50% of the fun that day.

Another Alice and Mad Hatter movie:

:thumb_yello: I hope someone has lollipop complete including the pointing at Freddie and 'Lady gaga' Ingievv.

Ingievv: "Freddie, Mika is pointing at you, he wants you on stage"

    Freddie: "No he doesn't"

    I: "Yes he did"

Security came, Mika pointing again, Freddie on stage. Mika pointing another time, this time at Ingievv. Ingievv on stage. Freddie and Ingievv ROCKED!!

Both did a great job representing the Alice crew on stage. I think Mika picked exactly the right people. After their performance they were both in shock. Mika picked them personally. WOW!! They both couldn't believe it. And both wanted to be on stage with Mika a long time, weren't picked by Mama P.

    It was amazing, :wub2:

More pictures in my Album on fb, =)

I stood in front of Jimmy and Imma. Jimmy is such a fun guy. Followed him playing with the 'pop' all the time, didn't see Mika then. Both Imma and Jimmy had a lot of fun, you could see they did, also together making fun. Afterwards Jimmy came out to our Belgium fans (I stand right after them following their conversation) and he was joking with them, but also loved the book he got. "I would cry if it's possible, but my tears tubes got removed" :naughty:

    oh well

jazzy posted this on twitter, which is public enough!

i guess fd does not mind me posting it here....

    FD, you rock!!!

Freddie really rocks. Met him yesterday. Wonderfull guy.

FD just texted that Mika dragged him onstage!

I can't wait to hear all about this! :woot_jump:

Freddy and Inggievv were personally chosen by Mika during Lollipop. Security led them to the stage. Really fab Mika did this.

Well, Jimmy was supposed to get a book mfcers made(including me... fangurl moment here) for him:teehee: but i dont know if thats what hes talking about!:naughty:

This was the book he got from Katrien (I think). He was really happy with it.

    x2!

Btw, what about the flashmob? How did it go?

We got mixed in the audience, did the flashmob, including Ingievv and FD on stage. I don't think Mika noticed in this full crowd. Couldn't do it after the gig. Mika rushed through the line of fans.

I'm very tired. I'm too old for this sh*t. But what a lovely day we had. Starting for me at 9:30 q-ing. Really loved meeting all the mfc-ers. Allthough we had a lot of rain, it was cold, we had a wonderfull day.

Show was awesome. What a beautifull rock-theater-show. :thumb_yello:
