I'm opening a "Mika Entertains a Gentleman" thread...
Great idea!
That one will be even more fun to read than this one is.
-
OMG! Just saw those shocking news!
Mika walks down the street with a GIRL!! A ****in' girl! I'm...no words...
Fainting...
Yeah. We're all still in shock.
-
Caz, please don't be so off topic:mf_rosetinted:
Yeah, this is about Jimmy retweeting a pic of himself looking like Pamela Anderson.
-
Well you can come on Thursday if you want, or we can put your stuff in my car
Hmmm, I think I might be able to make it on Thursday, if that's okay with you.
(What time would you like me to arrive at your place? )
-
I bet he's seen worse...Sylvana tweeted him in Borat outfit...at least he's all waxed here:mf_rosetinted:
Good point. But he's got boobs in this one.
-
There you go, not too much drooling please!
Oh damn.
(I can't believe you actually tweeted this to him. )
-
I guess we will, yes..
Only if we want to go for lunch or something we'll leave for a short time to find a McDonalds or something and get something from there..
Finding food won't take long. It's all right there on the square where we'll be Q-ing. ^^
Are we really going to queue at ridiculous o'clock? I think I'm just not even going to think about it and just do what Ingie & co wantDo you want me to drop my stuff (sleeping bag etc.) off at your place before crazy o'clock?
I don't wanna be the only one who's not dressed up so I do something with playing cards too. not very original but it's better then doing nothing. There's quite a few people not dressing up. ^^
Great .. Not I'M gonna be the only one not dressed upNo you won't.
We don't have one of those yetWhat about me then?
-
Now what kind of question is that? To hang with the fabulous people that is us ofcourse!
Very good point, how could I have missed that?
-
Got my tickets today.
Yay!!!
Really: before 11.00H??
Will we be queueing all morning and afternoon?
Yeah, I'm not too crazy about that either.
Assuming there won't be a lot of non-MFCers there that early, why would we choose to sit there all day?
-
yes! even when at first sight you already know there´s nothing to talk about!!
Exactly. Those are usually the funniest threads to read. MFCers have got a very lively imagination.
-
When I see a thread title like this, I always know it's gonna be an entertaining read.
-
Those are the tickets, I had the same thing with my Dusseldorf tickets:naughty:
Thanks, good to know.
-
I haven't received my tickets either.
I may have gotten mine today, but since they're being send to my parents house, I'm not sure. My mom called to say that there'd been a delivery from the UK that had to be signed for, but no one was home. I'm guessing it's the tickets (don't know what else it could be), but won't know for sure till Thursday, when my parents will have the time to pick it up at the post office.
I hope yours will come soon too!
-
I suggested it:biggrin2:
And we had this perfect idea for gifts, Freddie is bringing a copy of the book and we will all draw on it and customize it for him and I also thought, maybe we can also give him:

Sounds great!
Btw, am I the only who hasn't received the tickets yet?
-
yeah, depends on the venue and the security guard you get. you can be lucky, but i prefer to take just a small bag.
well, like i said, i'm taking the night train (to save me the hotel costs and because it was the cheapest option) - and no idea where else to go really except for the venue... wouldn't make sense to hang around the city for hours with my luggage, don't have a hotel... and guess i won't be the first one at the venue at 10:30, so the venue with my fellow mfcers is the best place to be!
of course if i had the option to sleep in, i probably would.
I agree, although I've never really had any trouble with bags/security guards.
That's a good point, dragging your luggage around Amsterdam might not be the best way to spend some time.
-
Not really. I thought people would be there much earlier. In London I got at the venue at 11.00 and felt like I was late .
Hmmm. I still consider it to be early.
-
coat depends on the weather... and if we have an organized numbers/queuing system, and the parking lot isn't too far away, maybe i can leave some stuff in someone's car... but usually the way i do it at gigs is have a small handbag on my shoulder, for money, camera etc., and take an empty plastic bag in which i can stuff my coat etc. to put it between my feet at the gig. if it's not allowed to hang the jacket over the barrier (that depends on the venue...).
most important though: SMALL bag. i'd never bring a whole rucksack full of stuff, because it takes ages til the securities are finished checking that at the entrance.
about the queuing time, i'll just come directly from the station to the venue (after i found me breakfast somewhere...), as i'm taking the night train to amsterdam, and leaving for luxemburg directly after the gig. no idea how long it takes to get to the venue, but guess i'll be there around 10:30.
Actually I find that they usually don't check bags all that well. (At this venue I've actually had them ask me 'Can I look in your bag' while all they did was feel the outside of it, without even opening it. )
10.30?!
Dude. That's early.

Cool ... I've kind of cheated on my t-shirt now
http://www.cafepress.co.uk/cp/customize/product.aspx?clear=true&number=%20441544672
Do you think this is ok ... I have to wait til I get paid tomorrow morning to pay for it ... but I'm not very arty ... I did try to do a complete card thing ... but it looked too busy ... and I like this design ... and the back thing I did
It looks awesome!
-
I think it is 5500 to 6000.
Oh, according to Wikipedia you're right.
(Someone told me years ago it could hold 10,000 people and I just never questioned it. )
-
How big is it ... does anyone know ... I know Milan was about 8,000 - 9,000 - and I know these shows are supposed to be bigger ... does anyone know crowd venue capacity ...
I believe it's 10,000, but I'm not entirely sure.
-
Very useful, especially the earplugs: wouldn't have thought about it myself. Thanks:thumb_yello:
Do you take a bagpack for the drinks and food?
Took me a couple of gigs to figure that out too.
Personally, I bring a relatively small shoulderbag, but a (small) bagpack will work too. ^^
-
This is my first real gig ever. Yes, I have been to the Concertgebouwconcert last year (see sigpic), but never to such a thing as a gig in the Heineken Music Hall.
Therefor I have to ask these, possibly quit naive, questions:
Do you guys wear coats?
Where do you put your stuff like money etc to keep it safe?
Do you have any other good advice for people such as me?
And: is there already made an appointement when and where we meet?
At what time do we start queueing?
I am really looking very much forward to it:mf_lustslow:
There's a cloakroom where you can leave your coat and your bag if necessary.
Personally, I always keep my bag with me.
(Although many times when I've put it down on the floor in the HMH, I picked it up to find it was covered in beer and other stuff. )
Bring earplugs. Your ears won't hurt/you won't hear that annoying beep afterwards + the sound quality actually improves, cause you won't hear all the feedback from the bass and stuff.
And if you don't want to spend a lot on drinks, bring cartons of fruit juice or something. (No bottles, they won't allow that, but personally I've never had any trouble bringing cartons.)
Hope this is useful. ^^
(Oh, and I have no idea when we'll start queueing.)
-
I haven't
Me neither. I think. They're being send to my parents' house.
-
Wooop tickets being shippedYup, just got the e-mail from Sandbag.
Hopefully they literally shipped them, as in sending by boat.
Should I worry when I haven't had that email yet?
