  1. 'Cause once in a while we like to discuss music and not underwear while waiting for the new record and tour, in the "Mika's Next Album" thread several people started discussing what songs they would love to hear Mika cover in the future. So I decided we should give the discussion its own thread.

In the past Mika's covered Harry Nilsson's "Everybody's Talkin", Eurythmics's "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)" and "Missionary Man", Michael Jackson's "I Want You Back", Massive Attack's "Teardrop", Nina Simone's "I Got Life", Candi Staton's "You Got The Love", Prince's "When Doves Cry", The Gossip's "Standing In The Way of Control", The View's "Same Jeans", Dave Matthews' "Satellite", Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie" (and let me know if I've missed any others). What do you think he should cover in future? What would be your ultimate Mika cover song?

What about "Cant Stand Losing You" By The Police. I swear he did a cover of that....

  2. Oooh, I do quite like the Hoosiers actually....even though Mika's music is different to the Hoosiers if you like one you pretty much bound to like the other...strange but quite true....

  3. Me too!

Shall we start some more petitions

    1. Wear skinny coloured jeans again.......especially the purple ones:mf_rosetinted:

    2. Grow your hair a little bit:wub2:

When we become "Official" he may have to listen to us!:roftl::wink2:

    definitely!!!! lol

We shall have a special thread for requests and he shall have to respond to our every need and desire....i really shouldnt have said that:mf_rosetinted:

  4. He's gone identity mad definitely

Someone hide the white face paint

    NOW.....

He might see this and get ideas ...... :(

oh goodness I hope he doesn't.....wait 'til hhis next tour and instead of the words LOVE in those big letters it will be DIE, and the confetti will be in the shapes of skulls.....:roftl:

  5. In person, only baby sharks in a tank... I think it was at The Mirage in Las Vegas. Sharks are freakin creepy

Have you ever pushed a door

when there is a huge sign that says "PULL"?

    :naughty:

YES!!! I do that all the time at my school :) and then everyone laughs :(

Moving On, Are you doing anything special thisEaster?

  6. Ugh, don't even get me started. :boxed:

How the fsck can anyone post on the Internet - next to their full name and photo, as you pointed out - detailed descriptions of how they'd like to go about hurting someone? I don't care if it's "all in fun", I dont' care that it's just a website - I can't imagine being that level of twisted. It doesn't make sense in my head that a total stranger can incite that much rage in people. Especially in contrast with the stories you hear of people, say, vowing to forgive the drunk driver who killed their family member.

I like to think that those types of people are just spouting sh*t because the Internet makes them feel all powerful and bulletproof - that they'd never be bothered to take it to real life.

Actually, I've said before that Mika's music is shockingly good at weeding out the jerks and other less-than-savoury people. The vast majority of fans who "get it" are inherently good, friendly people. :wub2:

    I totally agree...

I just hope you are right when you said when people make claims on the internet the person is to scared to actually pull it out of the bag.

The people on these websitesare indeed twisted and I dont believe that its not just a case of not liking Mika, it is possibly deeper than that. For example I dont like Leona Lewis' music, but I dont start creating anti-Leona sites all over the interent and making false claims just so I can look big.

At the end of the day if a person chooses to spend their time focusing on the negatives in their life - eg who they dont like, why they dont like them etc etc, then I ask you, what kind of life do they have?

I love your last bit, its absolutely true, Mika's music does have a strange appeal to the outsiders, and as The Big M said himslef it's surprising how many of them there are, and I think this website is a prime example of that.
