  1. I've owned "Life in Cartoon Motion" for a year and have loved every song on it. "Stuck in the Middle" was always a great song but it was never repeatedly played in my cd player like many of his other songs. I saw Mika in concert last week and absolutely fell in love with this song (If you were in Seattle, I thought it was hilerious when he did the "ba de do ba ba......" and had the audience try to copy and totally fail. He gave the funniest look). It was always one I enjoyed bobbing my head to to the car and humming along but I never really thought about the lyrics. I'm having difficulty figuring this song out. Is it about a girl or a family? He wrote all his songs so does he write about personal experiences (I know "Grace Kelly" is about a personal experience). I've heard awesome things about his family so I'm thinking it must be about a girl. Has Mika explained any of his songs (besides "Grace Kelly")? Thanks!!!!! Here's the lyrics to "Stuck in the Middle": I sit and think about the day that you're gonna die, Your wrinkled eyes betrayed the joy with which you smiled. Care to see my reason? Care to put your life in mine? Lookin' at life from the perspective of a boy Who's learned to love you but has also learned to grow. Could we make it better, stormy weather, So hard to know Oh, oh, oh - Is there anybody home? Who will believe me, won't deceive me, won't try to change me? Ah, ah, ah - Is there anybody home? Who wants to have me, just to love me? Stuck in the middle. I look at you, You look at me, We bite each other. And with your bitter words you kick me in the gutter. But my troops are bigger than yours You'll never stand my fight. Ours is a family that's based upon tradition But with my careless words I tread upon your vision. [stuck In The Middle lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com] Are five kids better than one, who'd doesn't like to be gone? Oh, oh, oh - Is there anybody home? Who will believe me, won't deceive me, won' try to change me? Ah, ah, ah - Is there anybody home? Who wants to have me, just to love me? Stuck in the middle. Yea...Yea...Yea... This is just who I am, This ain't a greater plan to break your heart over me. I know that what I've started means that when we have parted I can live in honesty Oh, oh, oh - Is there anybody home? Who will believe me, won't deceive me, won't try to change me? Ah, ah, ah - Is there anybody home? Who wants to have me, just to love me? Stuck in the middle, Stuck in the middle, Stuck in the middle, Stuck in the middle
  2. I don't want to get too in detail on this site b/c I'm not sure about ages on this board but I loved how that lady stood up on yesterdays show and told Oprah and Dr. Oz about her sexual "problem" and Oprah was like, "honey, that is not a problem". That had me falling out of my seat! Dr. Oz has been a guest on the show for the past year. He is a doctor who answers any and all questions. He even comes on the show with crazy things like human lungs, brains, etc to show what smoking, cancer, does to them. He very entertaining. Ooh, I'm also in love with Nate Bercous (sp?). He seems soo sweet!
  3. I love Oprah. I watched it today with Dr. Oz. He always comes on with really interesting information.
  4. Yea, it was an excellent show. I really liked the Showbox too. I hope he has his next concert there.
  5. Yea, I just joined this forum yesterday and everybody has been amazingly helpful!!!!! Thanks everybody!!!

    Oprah??

Normally before Oprah introduces someone she says something along the lines of "I have recieved loads of letters......", so I think if we want to try to get him on, many letters have to be sent out. I'll get mine out tomorrow. I actually wrote one, but was shy to send it. I'll send it tomorrow.
  9. I was sooo bummed. I brought my camera with me but decided to read the ticketmaster ticket before I went into the show. The ticket said that at most venues, camera's are not allowed. I didn't want to get to the front of the line and have bag check people tell me that I couldn't bring it in, so I left it in the car. When I saw that everyone had their camera's out, I was bummed. Oh well, there WILL be next time. I will definately make sure that I go.

    Oprah??

Hey Everybody, I hope this doesn't sound stupid but has anyone ever sent a letter to Oprah about Mika? I've just heard so much that he isn't as popular in the states as he in in Europe and I was curious if this could be a career booster (from the concert I went to in Seattle, he seems to be doing great. I heard a lot of people say they heard him through word of mouth). Anyways, I am on the Josh Groban message board and have been following his career for some time, and after he was on Oprah, his cd flew up the Billboard charts. And most recently he was on Oprah promoting his Christmas CD "Noel" which became the top selling album of the year (crazy, eh??). Mika has an interesting story, and amazing songs. If Oprah likes good music, I would think she would love him.
  11. I was at his show in Seattle. A perk for being over 21, was that we were let into the bar before the doors opened. They opened up the doors to the bar before the main doors so my friend and I got an excellent spot (center, 1-2 people back). His intro for "Lollipop" with the shadow show = priceless. Especially since it was an all ages show. I had an amazing time and can't wait to see him live again! I guess I'll just have to watch my dvd over and over until then.
  12. Hey Everybody, I discovered Mika about a year ago from channel surfing. MTV does not play any music, but durring the ending credits of some show, they had a small clip of "new artists to check out" and they played a clip of "Grace Kelly". The first time I heard it, I was like "ehhh, it was ok", but I just couldnt get the song out of my head. So, I was at the store and bought the cd the next day and have been in love ever since. My favorite songs are "Happy Ending" and "Ring Ring". It is sooo hard to pick favorites on this cd, becuase all of them are excellent. I am recently getting into "Over My Shoulder". Anyways, I was at the show in Seattle and the concert just re-energized me to throw the cd in the car stereo and blast it 24-7. He is an amazing performer and I was so sad to see his show end. 3 days later and I am still in a state of euphoria. I was lucky enough to be 2 rows back from the stage, but I think everyone in the venue got the same experience (thats a nice thing about smaller venues). I'm a substitute teacher, swim instructor, I am active on the "Into the Wild" and Josh Groban message boards, and I love rollerblading (I am a big girl working on becoming a little girl - who is still beautiful! - Cheesy, I know). Anyways, I'm happy I found this site and am excited to see where Mika's career takes him. I hope he sticks around for a long time (I have friends who have not yet heard of him. I'm taking all of them to his next concert whether they have heard of him or not - I've got to spread the Mika! He's one who everyone should know).
