  1. They are touring with the new album actually! But it hasn't been advertised much and they're doing very small venues. I only learned about their show in Brussels the day before the presales!

Are the side shows on their MySpace?

Its only Europe and Japan anyway all the way up until August. Fingers crossed that they'll do Australia after that like last time.

I suck twice as much since I'm seeing them at the Pinkpop festival 2 days before. That's what I call a Placebo fix :naughty:

    :aah::punk:

  2. Seeing them in 2 weeks :biggrin2:

OMG, awesome! Full report, please. :das:

I missed them back in 2006. :tears: I'm reallllly hoping that they'll tour here again with the new album.

  3. Brian's hair is awful, this is his worst look ever :( the kid looks best of them all :D

No way, I think the buzz cut was his worst look. :boxed: I like the current haircut, but my real favourite was his Taste In Men/Black Market Music look. :das:

  4. "As announced previously, the special edition of The Bachelor is available to pre-order now from the Bandstocks shop, completely exclusive to those of you who have invested in shares. The Bachelor limited edition version will feature a beautifully crafted box set, which comes complete with a heavyweight slipcase that features the album cover in all of its glory without any title or logo on it whatsoever. Inside of the slipcase is a perfectly bound 28-page book, which tells the story of the album from beginning to end with the use of photos and lyrics throughout. Numbers are limited to 1000, and they will be signed and hand-numbered by Patrick so please be quick to ensure you get your paws on a copy of this strictly exclusive and very exciting addition to your album collection. If you would like a copy and you don’t yet have a share, please go to Bandstocks.com to sign up if you’re in the UK, and you can join the tribe at TWIN if you are outside the UK."

    I didn't know they'd come signed. :groovy:

    Also:

"Rough Trade Records are also offering the first 500 people to buy a copy of the album from their shop exclusive copies of The Spinster EP, which features 5 brand new tracks from Patrick, tracklisting as follows:

    1. The Bachelor (Balalaika Mix)

    2. Teignmouth (Lone Bachelor Demo 2003)

    3. Vaeety Braeu

    4. Pigeon Song (Live at Shepherds Bush Empire)

    5. Who Will? (St Bredes Church Karaoke Mix)"

I want the Spinster EP but since I've already pre-ordered the album I guess it's not worth it for me.

  5. I hate it, really hate it when people presume to speak for me.

Comments like "we all hope this" or " we all agree" or " we all feel".

Don't speak for me, don't generalise, you don't know what I hope, agree with or feel.

    Stop it - now!

Speak for yourself, I have a mouth of my own, thanks.

I got so much of that last week. I attended meetings to discuss how an event would be organised and all I heard was 'as we all know' and 'as we all agree' until I just wanted to scream out loud. What was worse was that because it's an event geared towards women it was assumed that I automatically agree it should go ahead in the first place. I really don't like generalisations and assumptions.

  6. Well I find it interesting that I was overwhelmed with disappointment and annoyance when I saw the spelling errors (they weren't even typos in my mind). That did kill it for me, and it is hard to get past it!! And when I hold that expensive book (all 5 of them) in my hands and see those errors, I will feel it all over again. There is just no excuse for bad spelling in a book like that. If you know you are a bad speller, then you PAY for proofreaders.

So I for one wouldn't be surprised if you had an organic spelling error reaction which stemmed the love fest zoots.

WHAT? There are spelling errors in the book? The book that I paid $42 to have shipped all the way here? Oh man, I'm getting a headache just thinking about it. :aah:

  7. I hate when people say "oh you throw like a girl" in sports

because usually they mean like "you are bad at sports" and then they say "girls" and its like...they think all girls are bad at sports :sneaky2:

Yep, it's a sexist statement. One of the things I dislike the most, up there with homophobia, racism, and abilism.

  8. Well maybe the first verse, unless there's something you haven't told me. :naughty:

:roftl: I expect the rest in my future.

I know! When I was transcribing the lyrics that first night it was out, I almost added in the comment next to the word "whine" (This will make S&M happy) but I got so absorbed in getting the lyrics finished I didn't add it.

And anyway, I think we have to remember his own whiny-ness.(courtesy of nono a while back)

    whineystareln4.gif

Oh yeah, he definitely maintains the crown of #1 whiner. :thumb_yello: We can only aspire to that level of mastery.

  9. "Exciting information for you now, with regards to the new album… The Bachelor limited edition is available NOW and is completely exclusive to Bandstockers. Numbers are limited, so hurry on over to the Bandstocks shop now!
