  1. Almost feel guilty for having the "Lovers in Japan" video for free...oh well not too much... It's a pleasing video, I'm glad they showed how the butterfly confetti illuminated just like the concerts, nice memento.

  2. Definitely much love to Joanne and the Newman family...

Besides his awesome films, his delicious newman mints, and other organic goodies, I will remember how he lived. He knew how to live life right: family, standing up for people who didn't have voices, and giving back unselfishly.

My favorite picture of the two:

The world, including I will truly miss such a pure human being at their best.

  3. So yeah such an awesome concert John gave at Shoreline last night...he was HAPPY. I mean really truly happy with that guitar and just life in general. And the banter was flowing. Oh yeah and he cut his hair again...still getting used to it....lol

  4. Thanks for that, soulsalsa! :wub2:

Sounds like you had a great time :thumb_yello:

I love that pic you found - never underestimate the visual power of a confetti canon :punk:

Yeah never underestimate it:naughty:, someone on the Coldplaying.com Forum made this video which was basically my view expect when they ran up in2 the audience.

Awesome video of what some of the concert was like

  5. So I just got back from the San Jose show 2nite, it was just lovely. Of course all the awesome songs were played especially one of my favorites "Politik", I had fun body and head banging to that one. "Yes" and "Chinese Sleep Chant" were other highlights 4 me. The crowd was cool, the top and lower sections all did the wave b4 Coldplay came out. But what was up with the people in my section (128) sitting down during some of the songs?....really!

 Literally I was pretty much the only one standing up in my section but at least the band could locate me more easily, I would like to think that Guy Berryman was applauding me for my dancing, even if that's very much wishful thinking.:blush-anim-cl:

HP's sound was better than normal so all the booming bass, banging drum kicks, and crisp euphoric guitar notes, and choir-like singing was very easy to enjoy.

Chris slipped up a few times on some of the newer songs, I liked it cuz it showed he is human (knew that already btw). Also I just barely learned all them songs meself. But he bounced back singing something along the lines of "San Jose...the people here are very forgiving" Some lucky people were graced by the band singing right by them, the whole band managed to run across the floor and up into the lower section and Chris said "Oh now I see what it's like" and in2 "the Hardest Part". After that Will sang a song, quite a good singer, he should do it more hans solo.

All in all, it was nice with all the neonized confetti, magical balls, & the band's humble presence.

My cell phone didn't take very good pics and vids...I found this one though, it sums it up for me, wish I had grabbed some :tears:

  6. Hahahah. No, I'm not going to tell him.:naughty:

I never really talked to him in the first place and I don't want it to seem like I was stalking him or anything.

Oh, you're going on Friday??!! Coool! Have fun!!!

Yeah it might seem a little stalker-esqe that way...lol

Show's 2morrow, I'll let you all know how it went, I can only predict this, awesomeness :punk:

Found this on a Kanye West Fan Site...mentions our beloved Chris Martin and of course Kanye

    Coldplay At The Forum

    LINE OF THE NIGHT

"So I’m wandering the Forum floor, looking for Lisa and Brooks, and I run into Dave. He’s just upgraded a young couple from the cheap seats to the first five rows. They’re giddy, in a state of disbelief, and I say I want to go on his next mission, into the stratosphere, to rescue some more real fans.

Dave’s eyes light up, we get ready to ascend the stairs, but we can’t lay our hands on any more tickets. They’ve all been given away. All five front rows have been populated.

So Dave asks if I want to meet the band.

I say no. This is always a waste of time. Something for the mental scrapbook, something to whip out to show others what a hotshot you are when really the band has no ****ing clue who you are. But Dave said Chris knew who I was. Thinking this was possible, since Chris’ best friend, the fifth member of Coldplay, had said at dinner that Chris reads everything about him, takes the temperature of Coldplay fans, even in chat rooms, I agreed.

So, we enter the bowels of the Forum and Dave tells me to wait a second, he wants to go into the dressing room first.

    That’s cool.

Upon emerging, Dave says Chris is going to come to us, that we should sit in the "Family Room" and await him. And we’re doing so, catching up on the band’s history, its decision to do the iTunes commercial, which at first the band was reluctant to do, and a small black man enters and he and Dave strike up a conversation. Does he need a bottle of water? No, he’s afraid he’s going to have to pee during the show. Feeling the exact same way, I mention this and when this gentleman turns to look at me I realize it’s Kanye West.

I’m stunned. He’s absent all the attitude, all the chutzpah paraded in the press. He’s nice. He’s gentle. And he’s young. I can’t believe how young he is. THIS is the guy everyone believes is such a terror?

After talking for a while, we decide to venture into the band’s dressing room ourselves. Where Dave introduces me to Chris, who looks at me like he’s never heard of me before. Feeling like every other dumb ass loser, I pipe up that I’m the one who writes the newsletter. Ah, the nod of recognition. Chris is introducing me to the rest of the band. I can’t believe they’re so calm before the show, I wouldn’t want to hang with unknowns minutes before going on stage. And then, Kanye asks my last name…

And I start telling Chris not to listen to the critics. To just do what he wants. That the haters have an agenda. And Chris tells me he doesn’t hate anybody, not even Bill O’Reilly.

I’m making no headway here. Chris Martin is just too nice.

So I decide to switch subjects. I decide to get into it with Kanye. I start talking about Bonnaroo.

And Kanye says to me: I DON’T TAKE THE HIGH ROAD!"

  7. Wow, what a small world...If that guy was in my english class, it would be so hard not to burst out laughing everytime I saw him

    :roftl:

R u going to tell him that you know what he does for moonlighting? And if you do, Tell him to do a Mika song :wink2:

Keeping this Coldplay-related...concert's coming up this Friday...After watching those videos, I just might lose my voice again :bleh:

  8. i like their song must have done something right, but other than that i'm not really into relient k.

too much of their music sounds similar. i mean, it all has the same rythm and general sound. if you've heard one song, you've heard 'em all.

persoanlly my fav. artist is mika, then tobymac :punk:

I second the TobyMac comment, loved the momentum cd!

I also love Lifehouse's older music (Stanley Climbfall) reminds me of my middle school years :blush-anim-cl:

  9. oooooh...isn't the album practically finished in the words of a certain Daniel Lanois...it would be nice if it did come out near the end of October, it would be closer to my b-day that way.

But earlier wouldn't hurt that much either :naughty:

  10. First Single/First song off the Album: "Cedars of Lebanon"

    ENO SAID IT HIMSELF!

    lebanoncedars45.jpg

YEAH! ANOTHER TREE TO ASSOCIATE WITH U2!

What What? Where did u hear that? Man too many of my fav artists are coming out with albums and going on tour, a good thing indeed :wink2:

  11. I love that purpley picture and that's one of my favorite songs from my fav Prince movie "Under the Cherry Moon"

I don't know if I had quite the choice or not but I was raised on Prince music since I was born, kudos 2 my mother...I thought I was always his littlest fan...The two times that I have been up on stage were very surreal.

and I have yet been to a concert like Prince's where the fans are just feeding off other people's natural highs and vibes(all non-drug related), just dancing and being sorta of a like a family. I haven't been to a Mika concert yet but it sure sounds the same. :wink2:

  12. They have been changing dates around my area and others, hopefully they won't cancel my show, it has only been rescheduled a few back which works out ideally for me. I do feel bad for those who have been cancelled.

Be sure to check to see if your show has been changed!

  13. Yeah it's quite a milestone turning 50, I just wish he had his birthday celebrations that lasted for a week in Minnesota! Oh well...

I will be off to a concert non-Prince related so I will celebrate that way... now leaving Funkytown...:punk:

  14. Prince Lovers and Fams...this is the place 4 u... : )

    :gathering:

Since there is no thread dedicated to this musical genius, I decided I should create one for the eve of his 50th birthday(June 7th). The funky man is turning 50! He still looks good and most of all, still rolling out the awesome music!

So in honor of this strange-soulful-musical-creature-from-another-galaxy,

    56d8fa47.jpg

    Bon Anniversaire!

:fisch:In the beginning God made the sea

But on the 7th day he made me

He was tryin' to rest y'all when He heard the sound

Sound like a guitar cold gettin' down

I tried to bust a high note, but I bust a string

My God was worried 'til he heard me sing

My name is Prince and I am funky

My name is Prince the one and only:fisch:
