  1. makes me sad to know that ill never be able to go there and see it...

Don't lose your faith! I had a "bonheur" to live about 20 years in Soviet Union where people had very small chances to travel abroad and and never with your family because someone had to stay as a hostage to make it secure that people won't "jump away".

Only very few had a chance to attend some so-called capitalistic country like France or Italy. But again, VERY FEW.

That's why we are so good at geography as reading maps was the possibility to visit places outside SU at least in our dreams :) Thank god those times are over and I hope for good :roftl:

  2. Have read the dispute arisen here and feel so relieved as I have never had even the slightest wish to be present at Mika's M&G meetings and I am confused at the same time as, lately, I have been thinking a lot whether it was a good idea to register here since I'm not a hardcore fan of Mika. I am not a hardcore fan of any other artist. But respect and admire many, though. Buy and listen their music, go to their gigs.

So, I decided to register in when I’d read here that Mika may go to do Beirut and then I wanted to share my warm feelings about the country I had recently visited and loved it at first sight (and again my favour to Leb. has nothing to do with Mika, as I learned about M.'s existence about a week before my flight for Beirut)

Therefore the Beirut gig was the reason for me to register in and I was determined to leave it as it was, until I saw that someone had referred to my post while chatting with other mfcer and then I got a feeling as it would be more well-behaved to say my hello and introduce myself since I had practically entered the “MFC room”. Honestly, I didn’t expect that people come along to say hello.

Sry, I am constantly losing the point. Ok, back to Mika. :roftl:

I truly want to go to his gig (and I will!) and get a taste of his live show and, furthermore, I am determined to find a place more close to his sound technician than the stage and I won’t give a damn for his haircut, clothes, hats, bloodtype, orientation or his puppet eyes.

I have seen loads of photos of Mika here, but actually haven’t liked much none of them with one exception. Not sure, but I think the snap I am talking was apparently taken in the beginning of his career. (I’d run after any guy dressed up alike and tried to figure out what he’s looking inside :naughty: ). But that’s not relevant, too, I guess. (seems, I did it again, lost the point:confused:)

Sometimes it frightens me how huge the details conc Mika can grow here. I’m far from pointing my finger towards anyone since I haven’t been present at the M&G happenings but, yet, have experienced quite similar feelings that Titania referred to in her/his post, if she/he had spoken generally and not of some specific matter. I hope I’ve caught the point as I do uphold the idea to speak about things that you have either witnessed in person or surely know what’s going on and was trying to say that on The Luke Juby Thread but became knocked down by democracy warning :)

Unlike many longstanding mfcers who have been involved in Mika's career and had seen it growing gradually, then I’d come across with Mika stuff (and even then maybe only a half of that) within 1-2 weeks. To see all the showcases, interviews and TV shows that he had made all over the globe and gigs about Europe and North America gave me a different feelings of this. (Watching the material I suddenly understood what a lucky beggar I was having a privilege to fall asleep in my own bed and not being forced to knock about hotels. Btw, does anyone know how many gigs and TV shows and interviews Mika had made last year? )

On that ground it has at times been confusing for me to read some posts here judging Mika whom he should work with or what venues to show up. Thus, for me it’s hard to agree with the position that he had created his fans and must be ready for the consequences. I do respect the other people’s positions but must say that as far as I’m concerned that statement sounds selfish to me. Has he asked anyone to join the club? If you look what people have posted up on their let-me-introduce-myself threads you can see that major reason what made them to sign in was because of Mika’s music and not because of Mika had invited to join.

What concerns meet and greet sessions I’ve watched some of the M&G clips uploaded here and in Youtube and have always seen some shouting and muddle around Mika, even when we’ve reported that everything went very relaxed.

I am not going to take the floor about the M&G matter further since I’m not bright enough to say something worth about. I’m certain that Mika can cope with the stuff when necessary and I am not his bodyguard nor his mom to defend him. But I do hope that Mika never needs to follow The Fall’s singer Mark E. Smith’s motto according to which he gets rid of his fans over three years as by that time they had become too familiar and too annoying to him.

    Yours truly, hele

P.S. Hope I didn’t hurt any mfcer’s feelings. As I am not fluent in English I might slipped with tones and words. Didn’t want to be a judge or something, just express how I feel. And I'm working on to improve my language skills.

P.P.S. I have read my post and would elaborate that I wouldn't mind meeting Mika but then rather as Mica Penniman than MIKA, e.g. on some holiday travelling bumping into in some hotel lounge and have a chit-chat about what some has seen on his travel or share useful info, etc.

I don't know why Mika does this. Does he just love talking to people? Does it give him a thrill to give his fans a thrill? Does he want to get feedback? Does he think it's a smart PR move? I don't know, but he did it in March 2007 and he's still doing it in July 2008.

Of course, he has his goals. We all have, haven't we? I have.

  3. Just few words

TheBlackQueen and Queenie dedicated all their weekend's time to us international MFCers.

I'm really touched, thank you... the most beautiful and the best welcome "service" in the world and in a beautiful city like Madrid is. :wub2:

I already knew all the MFCers i met there except 3 new entries.

I enjoyed very much to met again my friends (included the big bold bald head boss aka the moderator moderate aka the male in the harem who pick daisies and who eat litle butterflies aka our tictac english teacher) and i enjoyed to know the news.

About the show: the performance of our super stars Big Girls Queenie, Mirtilla and Lululitalienne (perfect veteran) and our Lollipopgirls Sofia and Ighins was beautiful and funny, very professional.

I'm disappointend just because a "not so tall" boy red and black dressed jumped, ran and screamed everywhere disturbing the dance of our superstar... :bleh:

I forgive him because, in general, he sings quite well and, in particular, at the end, after the show of our beloved stars, he was very very very kind and nice with me and he listened me when i was speaking a language invented by me and not so similar to English :blush-anim-cl:

    Hi, Allegra! :bye:

Heard you had had a good time recently :wink2:

  4. Hahahaha, thank you! Maybe I should become a travel agent myself?

I'm returning to that travel agency idea :)

    Why not?!!

The idea about cheap flight tickets for Beirut and Amman sounds extremely nice for everybody here, i guess :roftl:

Just read Jordan gig thread. No mfcers will be present .

I thought that we should establish a MFC Foundation or something for cases like the Jordan gig.

Find MFC people who live close enough and want to go but can't because of financies and fund them with tickets and send them to be present as honourable MFC ambassadors :punk:

Preferred are people who live close to the country we gonna send them as then we could get more acceptable price :naughty:

  5. New Madrid blog on myspace, enjoy.

Warning-do not read if you are easliy offended by muppets:mf_rosetinted:

Hope you wouldn't mind that I copied a bit of your blog here (if you do, please PM me and I delete it at once).

"We watched whilst Number 10 and the rest of Mika's roadies set up the stage with about 5 million gerberas" (quoted Jemmalee's blog)

That's Jemmalee!!! :punk: I lmao imagining how you had been waiting for long hours and suffering because of those bad bands making terrible music and then had to follow how before Mika's start they carried flowers and flowers and more flowers .... and it was about 3.30 in the morning :roftl:

Thanks for sharing and making me laugh. :wub2: Loved your report about making of BG clip, too.

Regret to learn about the pushers. Hope they didn't hurt you seriously.

    How are you feeling now?

    h

  6. Hi hun!! I'm glad you enjoy the reports, it was a very special night for a number of reasons, and if you felt like you had been actually there, then I succeded to communicate at least a tiny bit of what I lived.

But thanks for the lines, I might use them some time:roftl:

I DID enjoy your reports. :wub2: What about the venue? I've searched a bit info about the place thru internet and I liked it (much better than stadiums). More appropriate for M. performances, i mean the style.

Feel free! You are always welcome to use them :naughty:

  7. Thanks a lot!!

we can see on this pic how big is this place.

It has been a while I didnt go there... it has changed a lot..

    ...Gebran:wub2::tears:

And soon that place will be fulfilled with 50 000 people as minimum :thumb_yello::punk:

Already crossed my fingers wishing that Mika's voice would be in a top condition on 27th.

*sad as I can't be there. So, Mika, if you are going to do B. next time, please inform about it a bit earlier :)*

  8. Hey everybody whose online on this thread!

As I realised the Madrid's gig thread had turned to another thread by now :)

I've just finished reading Robertina's and Asun's reports about the gig and wanted to tell my thank you to them (so guys, please forgive me my interrupting your chat as if I managed to read the report only today :blush-anim-cl: )

So Robertina and Asun! Thank you for your reports which vividly described the situation before the gig, during the gig and after gig. I was reading and had a feeling like I was at present last Sat.

Robertina, I wonder that you said same line :"Listen to me very carefully ...:roftl:" what I always say when I have to deal with annoying people (luckily I've met moments like these very seldom) and must admit that line always works :thumb_yello: And even more, if you see you have to deal with extraordinarily annoying people you may add: "I shall say it only once" :roftl:

(Must confess that I've stolen it from 'Allo! 'Allo! (an old British TV comedy I love to watch over and over again) but it does work! And you can always vary how to say that whether in a funny way or in a I-really-mean-it way)

So thanx a lot again. Take care!

    h

  9. I'm sure there is... At least Sara filmed the whole gig, but I don't think she's offline the next weeks...

Sorry, I must have misunderstood you :blush-anim-cl:

Hmm... I'm not sure... I think it will be different, but not per definition difficult. However, 2 days in a row at such a weird time, I think that will be though yes...

No need to be sorry as my English is far correct :blush-anim-cl:

I thought "tough" can be used as "difficult" or "hard". Aah, whatever, I think we understood each other, finally. Doesn't matter was it expressed in correct English or not :roftl:

Btw, I have read your post twice now and really enjoyed it :huglove:

*I'd love to see the pics of you putting fingers into your eyes and trying to stay awake*.

  10. part 3

Than the meeting part. We were told to wait at the right side of the stage to go backstage, so we did. Also non MFCers were waiting there... To Freddie the doubtful task to separate the people that were on the list from the people that were not. Well done Freddie, I don't think it was easy, but you managed well!! :thumb_yello: Allegra was missing for a moment, but that went out fine.

They took us backstage, and we had to walk through the barrier, were some other fans jumped over and joined us, 2 or 3 of them I thought? They asked us to have a seat, and then Mika came. Just in his stage clothing, unshowered, just sweaty as we were :naughty: He had small chat with everybody. No restrictions were given, but nobody asked for everything, and I think we behaved good. It was relaxed, Mika seemed to be in good spirits despite his sore throat, so it was all ok. When he left the non MFCers followed him for a bit, I didn't saw it clearly, but I think it was not to bad and handled fast and correct.

Then back to the standing field, chatted for a bit with each other outside. And finally went back to the hotel for having a breakfast around 6 am.

Then for me I got back to the airport, where I was flying in the early afternoon. Got home around 6 pm, totally knackered... And I still am, so I will make an end to it now, and go back to bed. I'm really in need of some sleep...

Many thanks c@rina@ for your interesting report! :thumb_yello:

Just want to note that I haven't said that singing at 3.30 is weird. When I asked what people may think about singing at 3.30AM then I actually meant Mika because he had to perform at that time :roftl: And I didn't say "weird" , I said it must be difficult.

OK, won't bother you further :) Have a really good sleep now! :wub2:
