  1. A brief review about Mika and The Origin Of Love of a famous journalist Zeca Camargo (writer, journalist and host tv) who works on Globo Tv, the most famous channel "open" in Brazil:

"And the best album of 2012 you did not hear it ... Well ... "The origin of love," Mika. I can not count how many times I praise Mika here in this space - and even this list of year end ("The boy who knew too much" came in 2009, with honors). But what can I do? Nobody - absolutely nobody! - Has the gift to conceive as perfect a pop song in the current scenario as Mika. If I were Lady Gaga, do an internship with him, to recharge for the next record. And Elton John could well be excited to do a duets album with Mika ... Anyway, no words will convince you better than the disc itself. Listen to "The origin of love", and in between happy 2013!"

    :biggrin2:

Just as a complement: Zeca always mentions Mika in some musical review, and all the cds were chosen as the best in the year (LICM, TBWKTM) :wink2:

E o melhor álbum de 2012 que você não ouviu é… Bem… “The origin of love”, Mika. Ouça “The origin of love”, e entre feliz em 2013!

And please, don't stir up the tensions between Brits and French fans, we don't need this...

Just want to put my point of view, what is the point here about France v England :mf_rosetinted: silly, sorry guys :blush-anim-cl: can't blame the UK fans for that neither fans French, I'm Brazilian and I have a very varied taste in music, I love music :wub2:... if English, French, Italian, Portuguese, whatever, I think ... the feeling goes beyond the language.

Mika is a mix of everything, he is English, Lebanese, French, American, of course I'm generalizing, he even has a nicely varied taste, he recorded his cds worldwide, recorded his dvds in France. Why we get so preoccupied in its sales success, particularly in the UK? will he cares less, we don't know, I just hope he continues evolving and making his beautiful songs, I think he'll continue doing records and gigs, no matter sales sucess or at least I hope so, for our pleasure :mikalove:

Just throwing random thoughts, I needed that, sorry my english.

ps: I love what is offered in terms of videos, photos and reports of ALL MFCers :flowers2: going to the shows, for those who are not there, like me at the moment, it is of immense value, particularly very grateful to Nina (tiibet) detailing beautifully in her blog the shows she goes and thanks God are many :biggrin2::huglove:

  5. I was in the choir with some of our lovely MFCers and the show itself was incredibly fun but I just have to get something off my chest;

Before the show, we had a great rehearsal with the band, which went great, then we took a break before showtime and I just have to say that, the crew members at this gig treated us like we weren't even allowed to be there and some of them were really rude to us on a regular basis before and during the show. I was on the Copenhagen choir in October and this experience was the complete opposite of that.

The rehearsal with the band and the show itself was a wonderful experience but we were all extremely disappointed that no one in Mika's team let us know after the show that Mika wouldn't have time for a meet n greet. I'm not a spoiled fan but I felt like an idiot, waiting with the other choirmembers in our hallway, just waiting for someone to let us know what was going on, with a giant bouquet of flowers which I was planning to give to him.

So I have mixed feelings really :( I feel happy about the show itself; It was a whole lot of fun and Mika was awesome and the audience rocked!

It's just sad that we were treated like we didn't even matter backstage though. They even put a giant chain lock on our door so we couldn't "sneak into" Mika's dressingroom; It was just ridicilous; And I don't blame Mika's team for this because it could've been the Ritz people who caused this silly and rude nonsense, I don't know, I'm just shocked that Mika would treat his fans like this; He must be feeling really stressed out and exhausted 'cause it just didn't make any sense whatsover that no one gave a damn about us, appart from the band and the assistant who brought us our robes.

I had a lot of fun on stage though, I think we all did :)

I just feel sad and happy at the same time and we deserved to be treated way better than that. Sorry for any typos, it's 4:30 here in Manchester and I'm really exhausted.

But please don't assume I didn't appreciate the experience; It was one of the most awesome moments of my life being on stage and throwing my bag of confetti all over the place lol

Oh I have mix fellings after read your review  sad about crew and no greet with Mika, why this things happening? :dunno:

... anyway great gig and choir, congrats Lara :huglove:
