  1. Hi! Well, I'm trying to learn it (and must do it fast), it's not extremely difficult on paper but when I turn on Spanish TV then... :bored: I'll go to survival Catalan courses for 2 weeks, I hope I'll have enough strength to take it all, cause it'll be difficult for sure. To be honest, I'm a little scared now.

And what do you do in Barcelona? :)

  2. Hi! Nice to hear from you, neighbour! ;)

  3. THANK YOU THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! :wub2:

Smile on my face for sure! :biggrin2:

  4. Oh my, I've accidentally pressed something and it just posted... Sorry, the post sounds so impolite...

So, as I said, everything's going well, except the fact that I cannot go home or read a book. :)

I really hope things will work out perfectly for you and you will finish school one day. :biggrin2: To me, personally, school arises bright and interesting memories, I really liked it there (despite some awful things). :wink2:

Sooo...No worries, it's not that bad actually. :thumb_yello:

    Take care,

    Hugs

    Eglė :cheerful_h4h:

  5. Hi!

Looks like we're both having some trouble dealing with studies, ha. :biggrin2: Well, I don't think it's actually trouble, just a need for some relaxation, right? :wink2:

I'm having my winter exam session now, taking the Logics exam tomorrow. It's supposed to be the "hard time" after the semester, because we just study study, take exam, study study study, take exam etc. But, to be honest, I'm not doing a thing now! And it kills me... This exam is not the theory, but practice, just like maths, so I do not have to memorise loads of stuff. And I just do nothing. Never thought doing nothing feel so terrible. :bored:

Anyway, tomorrow will star the real work.

  6. Och, taip seniai beužsukau čia, vėlokai rašau. Ačiū tau labai, tikiuos ir tu linksmai praleidai žiemos šventes. ;)

  7. Wow, THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I'm glad to hear from you and the card was amazing! :) Sorry for writing late, but I've decided to spend my holidays a bit away from PC and the Net, he he. :biggin2:

So, how was your holidays? Are you having good time, resting from studies? :)

  8. Sveika! Su gimtadieniu, ir dar kokiu, net labai ypatingu! :biggrin2: Kadangi gerai nepažįstu, palinkėsiu universaliai: daug daug visko, kas tik tave džiugina. :cheerful_h4h:

  9. Hey girl! How are you? I haven't heard for you for so long. :) What you been up to? Are you having a busy time or something fun? :)

  10. Glad to know they're fine. ;)

Well, I liked maths, actually. We had an amazing teacher: she was fast, strict, but fun and "human". She was our friend and an AWESOME expert as well. Extremely devoted to maths and teaching. I'm thankful to her that I learnt maths. :)

I also liked the English language a lot, then Lithuanian and drama. Ok, drama had some underwater waves, but it was good. And I liked history. Not the one at school, but the one I went to prepare for the exams. The teacher was just amazing. We had like normal, just double in length, classes. ~ 30 people. He made us all stare and listen. I respect him. :thumb_yello:

  11. He he, no problems. Glad you liked them. :)

Anyway, how are your studies? Difficult? What do you like/don't like the most?

    Eglė

  12. No, we don't have that name in Lithuania... May I tell you, it (somehow) sounds very Latvian. ;)

Well of course I know! Brainstorm!!! :biggrin2: They are amazing, really.

Btw, my avatar is from Latvia. :naughty: The cat is on a building in Riga, somewhere in the old city.

  13. Yes yes, Eglė means a fir tree in Lithuanian too. Our languages are similar in a way, you know. ;) Here we have a folk story about a woman who turned herself and her children into trees and therefore now we have names that are actually names of the trees. :) And that's why I like my name.

No, I don't know Indrė in person, but I know her for MCF. ;)

  14. Hi! Nice to see you, neighbour. ;) Yep, that's my real name, if this is what you asked. :)

Ha ha, does is sound very weird?..

  15. Hey!

    How's it going? :)

  16. Hi!

First if all, I've just written you a PM and asked you the same question that you answered here, so just ignore it. ;)

The weather is the same here... At nights and early mornings it is chilly and sometimes even -. But it gets warmer at daytime. Anyway, it is still quite cold. I love when the sun shines in on you though a window and instantly makes you smile. :biggrin2:

My studies might surprise you. ;) I study Political Science at the university in the first course. It's still strange for me to say that I chose this profession, couse it happened so unexpectedly, but I do not regret my decision. :)

I've always wanted to have my own restaurant (yeah yeah, silly and idealistic me) or to do drama, direct plays (even more silly), but maybe someday I will do is as a hobby, as some side activity. Though I don't know anything exact about my future yet. :)

And what are you planning to study further?

    E.

  17. Hi,

I'm feeling very very great today! The spring finally came, the sun was shining, I was grinning till my cheeks started to hurt. :biggrin2: And... I've already packed my stuff home. Going tomorrow early morning, so I'm even happier. We're going to have 1 week of Easter holidays, so I'll finally get some rest and spend more time with my family. My brother and even my mom (what a wonderful coincidence!) are having holidays too, which means it's gonna be perfect. :biggrin2:

Hm, Lithuanian cuisine... First, it is quite heavy and fat. Not everything, of course, but since our country was an agrarian in the past, the farmers had to work all day long, very hard. Thus they ate to maintain constant energy. Our "traditional" dish is called cepelinai. They are oval-shaped boiled balls, made form raw and boiled potato mash (80/20) with minced meat inside. The dish is served with sour-cream souce with spirgai (which is fried small cubes of meat). Mm, and the appearance of the dish is not very pleasant for most people... Anyway, I love them! :D

Another dish is potato pancakes. That is raw potato mash plus minced onions and spice, cooked like normal pancakes. Some add meat as well. I also love them, though they are heavy.

You might have noticed I used "" for traditional. That's because potatoes were brought here 300 years ago only. Our really traditional food is various poultries, but potatoes and cepelinai are extremely popular. So, they have become a part of out culture.

    Sorry for such length...

By the way, how's the weather in Lisbon? How are your studies?

    E.

  18. So... what about the pics? :biggrin2: I always imagined Lisbon as having sort of a fisherman style, some old blocks of their houses... You know, things connected with port. And of course, warm weather and a little chilly breeze in the evening. :) Maybe I'm just being too romantic. :D

So, you want to hear something about Vilnius and Klaipėda. Well, Vilnius is the capital and is famous for baroque churches (plus one amazing Gothic church that Napoleon said would love to take back home and watch it in the morning having breakfast :D. Those history lessons, ha ha...) and a lovely old town. There's also a castle (rather a remnant of it), an arch cathedral and other sights. . It also has some great facilities for nightlife, though northern climate does its "sleeping magic". :biggrin2: The city has a few little drawbacks (like modern shops in old town, which should be left for small local shops, I think), but I really like it.

Kalipėda is a port of Lithuania. It is a long and narrow city, not very crowded or polluted. The sea is not far, there is a ferry to the Curonian Spit, which is protected by UNESCO. The ferry is extremely popular in the summers, since the beach in the CS is cleaner, nicer, broader and there air is very fresh. It is also very relaxing to walk or cycle there across the forest. Now, Klaipėda does not have much "wild" activity to offer. But maybe that's what I like about it. In the summers we have a Sea Festival for 3 days, which attracts a lot of Lithuanians and tourists from other countries. Then there are concerts, street theatre shows, a fair, art performances and other interesting things to do.

In general, I love Vilnius for its wonderful architecture and a lot of social events. But I adore Klapėda because it is so warm and cosy and I've lived there for 18 years, more or less. ;)

  19. If you have pics - I will be glad to see them. ;)

By that "industrialized" I wanted to say that e.g. here, in Lithuania, some cities have a lot of factories, a lot of other manufactures and similar things, so they are like industrial centres. Some cities don't "make" anything. They basically run on services and tourism.

There are also academic cities (not in Lithuania, though) such as Oxford, which are based on education facilities; then sort of a trade and bussiness cities. I wanted to know what is the whole...em... "idea" of Lisbon. :) Doesn't really matter now, since you described it very professionally. ;)

It's so cool that you can choose such languages. Here you can choose between English and German as first and then, with respect to your first choice, English, German, Russian and in some schools French or Latin as the second foreign language. I have English as my first and Russian and the second language. Though, sad to say, I don't know Russian well...

  20. You don't hear people speaking Portuguese very often, especially in this part of Europe (more likely Spanish or French).

Our history teacher told us Portugal is beautiful and that, if we get there, we should drive along the coastline, through smaller towns and then we'll feel the country. :) I'm starting to fantasise about it right now... :D

My mother tongue is Lithuanian. It’s only spoken by Lithuanians and is somewhat similar to Latvian. There’s not much talk about my country, it’s small, still economically developing. Well, we try our best and Lithuania is quite known in the sphere of culture, theatre, independent films. In 2009 Vilnius, together with Linz, is European Capital of Culture, so maybe more people will come and see it.

Tell me something about Lisbon. Is it more an industrialized or recreational city? It should be warm there right now.

Oh, and what languages do you speak/study at school? :)

    E.

  21. Ahoi! Ką čia ir bepadarysi - lietuvių visur pilna. :D

  22. Eglė

Thank you for being so kind. :)

I like your name too, I mean it. It's short, simple and very lovely. ;)

  23. Eglė

    Hey!

Have you been to Lithuania or you know some Lithuanians that you said "Labas"? :) It was very surprising and pleasant. :)

  24. Sadly, I haven't. I'd love to visit Portugal and to try out your traditional cuisine. One of my passions... :) It would also be really interesting to hear European Portuguese since it's different form Brazilian version (as far as I know).

  25. Yeah, I live in Vilnius now becouse I study here. But my hometown is Klaipėda. I like them both: one is bigger and louder, another is smaller and very cozy and warm. :)
