  1. First I was thinking that it's like with the other lead singles since TBWKTM, not my cup of tea, but I have been listening to it several times this morning and I like it more ad more. Anyway, I am not worried because I have always loved at least the half of the songs on the albums. I am not sure they are really trying to promote it correctly outside Italy though.

These are the iTunes charts from this morning:

    It's My House

    iTunes:
    #6 Italy (+25)
    #32 France (+118)
    #57 Belgium (+113)
    #172 Germany (NE)
    #178 Austria  (+ 8)

  2. Totally agree with everything you said, especially the bolded parts  :thumb_yello:  Too much falsetto might sound weird for simple ordinary listeners, mostly when you know the original versions. So it's normal that some people have different and less biased opinions,it doesn't mean they are completely wrong  :dunno:

I think this time his voice was tired and you can hear it especially at the end of Rocket Man. Too much falsetto with a tired voice in a cover isn't a good combination in my opionion. He should be more aware of this because people who don't know him as well as we do might think he always sounds like that. He should be able to say no if his voice isn't in a good condition.

  3. The article is too long for me to translate it because my poor english. I'm sure there is another ppl who can do it better than me,as Mika says, I'm the worse translator   :naughty:  but I'm going to translate a part that I love, where Mika talks about being sensitive.

" There is nothing more manly than a man who knows how to be gentle. There is nothing sexier to a woman than a man who knows how to be delicate. There is nothing to help creativity than sensitivity. That doesn't mean being weak, because you have to be very strong. But having strength while keeping your sensitivity let you listen to the world and keep in touch. And when you lose touch, you lose creativity, emotion that allows you to feel things."

    Isn't he lovely??   :fangurl:  :fangurl:

Thank you Alba. What does he say about his next album, that it will be more dance or electronic music?

Thank you Eriko. This is incredible!

  5. :(  Now I hope he'll do something else on TV instead. Never mind where and what. Because with or without X Factor I can't do more travelling for gigs. With these talent shows we can see Mika almost every week :naughty: It is good to be concentrated on music, but he may just lock himself up in a studio and we won't hear a word form him for months

Yes, I remember how it was before TBHKTM. We hardly got any news about him for months. Howewer I'm glad he won't do XFactor this year because he seems to be preparing something intresting with African musicians and he also told that in Korea he had worked with a K-Pop artist. Nothing makes me more happy than new music from him.

They say that it is the most read magazine in France. :thumb_yello: That's a great publicity for the upcoming shows and for NPIH.

For exemple, NPIH sales went up just after he performed J'ai pas envie at The Voice and especially because they showed snippets of his latest videos. NPIH re-entered the top 50 of French album charts (#39 last week).

  7. Hi,

We finally decided to go to this gig with my friend Macboll.

So I bought the tickets this morning, there were 554 standing tickets left, the venue is going to be full !

See you in Wonderland everybody :wink2:  :wink2: :wink2:

Apart fromTicketmaster also Accord Hotels Arena's website (there are 500 tickets left) and Fnac sell them. There might be about 1500 tickets left all together. I think all (or almost) the tickets will be sold before the concert . :thumb_yello:  See you there!

  8. He has no idea who is going to be at the gig. He sets a date in New York to perform for Americans, not people from Austria. Do you think he designed his Asian tour for the random Europeans that turned up or he did it for the Koreans, Japanese and Chinese he went there to see and perform for?

This is such a bizarre line of thinking and it is never an issue with any other artist. Mika fans are the only people I've ever encountered who think that gigs all over the world are their business and not the business of the locals.

I don't think that BBB was necessarily for foreign fans. He might just like to sing it and the joking part and his Elvis moves please lot of people.  :das:

  9. I think I should point out that the UK fan Mika criticised was only saying out loud what a lot of the UK audience were thinking

But Mika took in consideration that he was in UK. In Luxembourg we got four French songs  :naughty: .

Anyway, is it appropriate to speak in behalf of all the english speaking community? I have read that quite a few British fans do like BBB, at least live.

I was also quite surprised by MIka's reaction. Perhaps, he wanted everything to go as well as possible in his only gig in UK and Jemmalee's reaction to BBB was like a stone in a shoe.

  10. I heard something about Mika talking about Adele's album (saying it was good) before it was released. I assumed he was able to hear it through her. I am not sure they have the kind of mutual professional connections that would allow him to randomly hear her album and it's not like copies of it would have been floating around very far in advance. Her team gave me passes to a listening party in Montreal but the album was being released the next day so I didn't want to travel all the way from Toronto. Even then there were no copies of the album given out, no recordings allowed. You weren't even allowed to tell people ahead of time that there was a listening party. The whole thing was a secret.

It's nice to know that they are still frends. It must be quite difficult to maintain contact when you are having a crazy schedule like they both do.

  11. He did say on the BBC radio show that he texted with her about her cover of "To Make You Feel My Love", not realizing it was a Dylan cover, so I'd say they still communicate, at least somewhat...

If I remember he said that it was in 2012 when he had a gig in Estonia. Now Adele is so busy with her career and her family that it must be more difficult to see her.

  12. We are not going to resolve what Ben Stiller truly thinks about Mika since we can't read minds. But the reason Ingie and I jumped into this comversation is because fans were reacting as if Ben Stiller behaved rudely or disrespectfully towards Mika and he didn't. As far as I'm concerned this is indisputable. If anyone interprets it that way then I'd have to say they do not fully grasp American/English culture especially as it pertains to comedians and/or are oversensitive to what people think about Mika to the point of irrationality. Fortunately Mika does get American comedy. He loves Seinfeld, Larry David and Zoolander and he let Ben Stiller dress him up like a Borat double for heaven's sake. A character that Mika also looks remarkably similar to but is far less complimentary than being compared to a character who is a supermodel. He is not only stupid but unnattractive as well. :naughty:

I don't know how what Ingie said quickly derailed into a discussion about Ingie not thinking Mika is perfect...the point is if Ben Stiller doesn't think Mika is the greatest human being on earth it doesn't make him a jerk. All that matters is what he actually said and he didn't say anything bad about Mika.

Yes he does not seem at all prepared to live the life that big international popstars do. Adele is really the only one out there who doesn't have to hustle non stop every single year to keep her career afloat. But no one else has that luxury and even in Adele's case she is sacrificing this entire year to promo and touring. I am not sure if she'll ever do it again because her son will be in school by the time she can release another album.

Yes there are hundreds of artists whose popularity fizzles out. But the reason I talked about Katy Perry et al is because they were friends and admirers of Mika's work, not just random singers. Calvin Harris used to create mixes of Mika's songs. If he did that now and put it on one of his own albums it could be a real international hit for Mika. When Adele and Lady Gaga met Mika they were already huge fans. Lady Gaga used to write messages on his MySpace wall when she was unknown and I remember Adele talking to a TV presenter at the 2008 BRIT Awards (which was her first big public showcase) saying she was looking around backstage for Mika, hoping to meet him and saying she thought he was cute. When Mika can make fans of all these people who turned into huge international pop stars it seems absurd that his career went the way of Leona Lewis, who is just an X Factor winner when it comes down to it.

I get what you're saying though about Mika being in a better position than James Morrison because of his success in parts of mainland Europe. He has a lot more going for him than they do.

You are right about these artists. I discovered Adele thanks to Mika. I wonder if he is still in contact with her (or the others).
